Such a lovely traditional English hotel that serves excellent food. Sunday roasts are amazing a good value. West Bay is a self contained seaside resort with something for everyone. Would definitely come back again.

The staff were very attentive. The food and drink was good. The bed was a bit too soft.

Good stay at Haddon house hotel, friendly staff and excellent service, would stay there again if in the area.

We stayed in room 2 spacious and comfortable. Asked for extra heater as the windows were very draughty. The restaurant food was excellent both evening meal and a hearty English breakfast. The staff were very good.we would stay again.

We cannot recommend it. After a bereavement, we chose this hotel for a short break at short notice so paid upfront for bed and breakfast. Initial check-in was fine and a lovely lady brought us wonderful beef sandwiches. There was some confusion about check-in time so we waited until after 3pm to pick up our key. The person on reception (who we now understand to be the owner) made us wait several minutes. On producing our key, he also produced a receipt stating we had booked room only. When we queried this he became quite aggressive, and rude, telling us we had booked room only and gave us a lecture (in front of other guests) on how we had omitted to tick the appropriate box on the online booking form. The price we had paid, shown on the receipt, was evident to me that we had paid for breakfast and should have been evident to him. He challenged me to find our email confirmation. I was too upset to argue further at that point. When I had composed myself, I found our confirmation email clearly stating we had booked and paid for room and breakfast. All he said was "I'll change it then" - no apology. Our entire trip was clouded by this rude and insulting behaviour. We didn't feel welcome in the hotel and certainly didn't want to relax in their bar or dine in the restaurant. The reason we did not complain at the time was because he is the owner, our stay could have been made unpleasant. We did inform them on our departure. Our room was comfortable and other staff courteous.

Haddon House Hotel is a wonderful friendly place. Convenient to the heart of West Bay. The quality of food is second to none. And the rooms clean tidy and bright. The bathroom is luxurious. The only bad thing was the macerator from the next door room that was quite noisy in the night.

Very welcoming check in and very friendly staff the hotel was very dated in its looks we have stayed in hotels recently that offered much better facilities in the rooms for a lot less money ,had a low noise in the room which stopped at 2.40 don’t know why but this stopped us sleeping until this time,this spoiled the experience for us as all you get for your room rate should be a good nights sleep as breakfast is not included with the room ,breakfast was very good but not cheap at £35.00 for two .

There are no positive things to highlight here. Everything from service to breakfast to room was very poor. we had booked a superior room with a twin bed, but got a double bed of 150 cm in a tired small room. The pictures say more than words..

Exceeded our expectations. Staff was super pleasant room was very nice and clean and the food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was really great and wonderful value.

A couple of happy days away. Really special Country house hotel near the sea.

Amazing stay as usual had to Move room second night as mattress too soft for us bet they were amazing and moved to a room with harder mattress not hotels fault but personal preference but customer service and cleanliness second to none just hope the tough times with electric don’t effect this amazing hotel too much x

Excellent location for West Bay, the river, harbour, beach, pubs and restaurants. Lots of free parking. Bar and restaurant included too. Staff very pleasant. Room big, with separate dressing room and separate bathroom. Bath has whirlpool, waterproof tv and lovely touch light mirror. Breakfast was excellent in the mornings - from fruit and yogurt, salmon and scrambled eggs to full English. We visited at a time that West Bay has a carnival, so we joined the torchlight procession and saw amazing fireworks across the bay (https://www.westbay.co.uk/events/bridport-carnival.php). Kindly provided ice bucket when we requested:) Only small feedback, if guests mention they are struggling at reception with carrying lots of heavy luggage, maybe offer some assistance (you do mention you do that in your room datasheet). Aside from that very minor comment, we would definitely stay again! Lovely hotel.

enjoyable weekend in westbay that included 2 nights at hotel. room spacious and comfortable. whirl bath plus bathroom tv was a bonus. staff very friendly and helpful

Nice room, close to the beach

We loved our stay and we’re very well looked after by all the staff. The breakfasts were amazing, such choice and so lovely to be waited on at our table.

We liked the style of the hotel and its old fashioned values and also the garden area which was lovely to sit out on a sunny day. The restaurant food is also amazing so we ate there both nights it was so good.

Good base for touring the Jurassic coast. Very good food and reasonably priced.

Taking a couple of nights break with my son. Both rooms comfortable and loved the spa bath with tv/radio - a nice surprise! Good service, food, location and staff. Will visit again with my husband next time.

The hotel is very comfortable and easy going, the staff are extremely helpful and obliging. Our room was a little small and could do with a couple of armchairs to sit on but we were only there for a couple of days. The shower had no power which was disappointing when the bath was a jacuzzi bath with a tv at the end of it!!!
