Room clean and Tidy. Bed comfortable - had a good nights sleep. Continental breakfast quite adequate. Bar staff very friendly. Will definitely stay again.

The Dolphin was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The continental breakfast just hit the spot. We would definitely visit again.

Room was good , slight issues , tv wasn’t tuned correctly , no guide , don’t think the tea/coffee tray was refilled , only 2 small milks and no tea spoons ! Worst thing toilet cistern handle not working , water continually run instead of refilling after flushing , niggly things really ! Would stay again !

Nice hotel. A shelf in the bathroom would make it more comfortable. Limited choice for breakfast, but that might be after-effects of covid.

Really relaxed stay - great pub with beer garden, food was delicious. Catered for vegans and made us feel very welcome. Room was everything we needed - would definitely stay again.

This is a lovely pub with refurbished bedrooms. It is located in the centre of town with great parking at rear. The staff were lovely. Breakfast is in the fish bowl! Lovely little room and there was plenty of continental food, no hot breakfast

This was a fantastic find. Great food, wonderful host, who welcomed your personally. Rooms very clean and fresh looking.

Charming, immaculate, very friendly. Great to have pub downstairs to eat. Delicious. Comfortable bed. A little noisy until midnight because of bar downstairs. Room 4 on a Saturday night. Free parking. Delicious breakfast.

Nice pub, service great food and good accommodation. The owners went out of their way to ensure all guests were properly dealt with when a hot water pipe burst in the night, necessitating alternative accommodation to be provided. They organised the booking, drove us there and refunded our costs…this wasn’t necessary, buy very much appreciated. Thank you for dealing with a bad situation in the best possible way!

Overall a nice place. Sadly because of covid the bar was shut. Bedroom was very good but could do with internal double glazing as we were woken early by the local traffic. The continental breakfast was a bit sparse but was of decent quality.In normal circumstances I would think that the experience would be better but you can't legislate for Illness

Lovely building, great cosy bar and clean and tidy very comfortable and spacious room.

Don’t stay here if you want to sleep!!! The bar below the rooms was massively busy with younger people shouting with the music thumping until at least 1am , when the music finally stopped we had the joy of listening to very Drunk customers taking another two hours to leave . There wasn’t a some around in the morning except for a cleaner . The continental breakfast was a help yourself affair ! No one around to complain to or check us out . If you you want to stay up and party till the early hours and manage on limited sleep this is the place for you

Worth noting that the pub doesn’t open currently until 4pm so the 3pm check in time on hotels.com is not right. We parked in their car park earlier in the day and walked into town and came back to check in. Would definitely stay here again if we were passing through.

I had an enjoyable stay. The Dolphin accommodates vegans. The staff were without exception, willing, helpful and friendly.

It was very noisy at closing time, and at other times during the night. Otherwise comfy bed. Nice shower.

There may be more elegant accommodations in and around Newbury but there will be none better. This hotel/pub is in the heart of town, and is inviting, comfortable in every respect with upgraded bathroom, large flat screen tv, comfortable king size bed, and welcoming, attentive staff - one of whom assisted us in carrying our bags to the nearby rail station. On site food and beverage was of a high quality and reasonably priced in a convivial pub whose quality was corroborated by the presence of locals enjoying a pint or two over conversation. A European style breakfast was available each morning and prepared us for a good day of exploring at a pace we appreciated. This is THE place to stay when in Newbury. Book it now.

Room large, good bed, decent shower. Staff friendly and pub nice. Blind in the room didn’t keep out the street lights very well, breakfast choice was limited.

Great stay at the Dolphin, friendly staff and a wonderful room with everything you need. Breakfast provided is continental and self-serve (my preferred option.. I always hate waiting on someone to deliver me coffee in hotels!). Highly recommend a visit
