It looked like it use to be a beautiful hotel but needs so much up grade & honestly the location is very sketchy, I would never recommend it to anybody

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Hotel room was dirty, with spiders and cockroaches. In the morning the toilet backed up into the bathtub. It was so disgusting and hotel staff was unable to help, saying the person that handles those situations wasn’t working. They apologized for the situation but made no offer to refund us or help provide another room or other accommodations. We had to check out early to be able to be somewhere with a working toilet. The whole situation was insane, especially for the price we paid. Would not ever stay here again.

One of the redeemable qualities this property had was a jet bathtub. Unfortunately, it was completely unusable due to all the mold and mildew/bacteria blasting out of it every time we turned it on. We ran it four or five times just to try to clear it out, but it was still disgusting. The curtains in our room were torn and hanging a skew, the refrigerator had a huge dent in the front of it. The patio table was broken. The floor was so dirty that we had to wear socks or shoes on the tile or our feet would be black. The worst of all was there was a hoarder living in the unit next to us with a broken down car and all kinds of clutter and trash , right in front of our door. The free breakfast consist of a bagel or cereal and sometimes a banana. This place could be really cute, but I think even giving it three stars is being generous.

We've been staying at this location for years now. The place is nice and quiet. The only complaint I have is that there were two cockroaches in our room, 1 on a pillow and another in the restroom. Other than that the staff is very nice.

Room not as advertised on Expedia! Front door locks we're not secure and installed horribly, Wi-Fi connection was horrible, tv connection was horrible, the so called "patio" was just for someone who wants to smoke cigarettes and was tiny. One pillow has what looked like an old blood stain, tiny tv, old and dingy chair and table and when I tried to reach the owner for a refund or other room availability in another property I was completely ghosted. Didn't stay we checked out an hour later or so. Still haven't heard from anyone at the motel

Office was closed when i wanted to check-in as well at check-out. There was no strainer in the sink to prevent us from accidentally dropping something down.

This property is much less nice than a typical motel. The room smelled like mildew and there were spiders and hairs on the bed. We requested a room change. It took nearly an hour for this to happen and the communication was difficult through the process. We ultimately decided to drive home early rather than sleep here. The worst part is that the room was much more expensive than the Motel 6 that is across the street.

This is such a cute property! But once you enter the room, it is very sad. It needs help. The bathroom door knob wasn't installed properly, the privacy film in the bathroom is peeling off, there is no drain cover in the sink. That is just the bathroom! The door to the unit is not secure. The deadbolt is not installed correctly and doesn't work at all. There is no dresser or anywhere to put your clothes in drawers. Some of the artwork in the room is terrible - it could give you nightmares! The good artwork has scarred up frames. No one ever brought fresh towels, and nobody is ever in the lobby. The positives for the room are, there are a lot of outlets, there is a great working small fridge and microwave. And it is mostly a quiet place and is walking distance to a coffee and donut shop.

This was a nice & quaint property, gave off a vintage vibe. Front desk staff (Daniel I believe) was very nice and professional. Overall, the room was tidy and nice, comfortable bed and fluffy sheets. Only downside was I chose this motel for the jetted bathtub. Don’t use the Jets. The water turned black and not as maintained as one would think (maybe that’s just me). Also, the deposit is $125 per night and I got the deposit back within a few days but not the full amount and don’t know why. Sharing that as I know I would’ve liked to know.

I had the smallest room which was great for me. Shower was great too. Nice to have frig & microwave in room but I want an in room coffeemaker; might bring one from home next time. Everything was very clean! Breakfast room/lobby had crazy, ecclectric decor and the one day I had breakfast, it was nice as well. Some broken window screens is only thing I saw needing repair.

- breakfast was supposed to be available from 7am to 10am BUT there was noone in office during that time our whole entire 5 days we were there cause they were short staff
- BLACK MOLD was behind couch...we took pictures
- couldn't find anyone to give us fresh towels and sheets for 2 days
- Room smelled musky
- heater/ air conditioner would leak water when in use
- shower knob made an irritating noise entire time you took a shower when put on hot water
- Couldn't use spa tub cause it didn't look clean, sanitized enough to soak in
- would of been nice to know there is NO CLOSET

Renovations were nice, the young man at reception was very friendly and let the manager know we were there. The area is a little rundown around, but was fine for the given price. However, received charges to credit card without explanation and have been unable to speak to management reached out both by email and phone but no response. I’m not one to write negative reviews this place was otherwise fine, but it seems given other comments that ability to communicate is an issue here

Dishonest; would not honor reserved price- added ~20% "hotel fee" on arrival which I refused to pay. Clerk didn't have the authority to override it, then wandered off for 20 minutes while I tried to call the off-site Manager. She didn't answer multiple calls but finally called back 2 hours later and blamed Expedia for the "misunderstanding". No offer to meet the reserved price. Meanwhile they had already charged my card the added fee without my authorization. I asked why the fee wasn't on their website and she said it would result in fewer bookings. No kidding! Deceitful way to do business. Beyond that, the window screen was torn, so we couldn't get fresh air into the musty room. In the office, the coffee maker was out of order, the ice maker was out of order, and the toaster oven barely got warm, didn't toast.

When I checked in, the clerk complained to me that it was his break. Then, he claimed that the orbits fee did not cover the cost of the hotel and that there was a $15 fee. I refused it and asked to speak to the manager, he told me that the manager did not want to talk to me and waved the $15 fee. This can't even be legal. Never will I come here again. I was here two years ago and it was fine.

Charming Hispanic property and hotel building. Check-in was easy, and the young woman at the front desk was very helpful when our room heater didn't work she provided a solution within minutes. Parking directly in front of the room. The room was very clean, shower with nice hot water. Apart from the super soft mattress on the queen bed, that made staying asleep for me 190 lbs, and my wife 105 lbs challenging. It felt like being on an airbed with not sufficient air inside. All are still acceptable for a quick night stay in Carpinteria.

I usually stay at Motel 6 since I travel with my dogs. This was a small step up. The room was a little bigger and breakfast was available. The bathroom tiny . Walls thin and heater was a wall unit.

It’s actually really cute, but you can’t expect the world and then be upset when it’s still a motel.
A lot of negative reviews seem to be comparing this to a totally different type of stay. For a motel, it’s really unique, the rooms are cute and interesting, and it’s clean, quiet, and felt safe.
The staff was also very nice! I’d recommend it if you need a place to stay.

The property advertised and we booked for the King Bedroom (with an additional twin bed) with 450sqft of living space on Expedia. However, the room turned out to have two twin beds and much smaller. Do not trust on what they advertise. The breakfast that they advertise was also almost nothing. The rates were much higher than the property across the street (Motel 6) which seemed much better options while booking with respect to price and I believe with honesty as well towards the customer.

Nice reasonable place to stay for the price. Close to downtown Carpinteria. Staff nice, rooms clean. I would stay there again. Not far from Santa Barbara.

I received a text the day we were supposed to check in, asking me to complete a registration form in advance and what time we would arrive. I completed the form, and gave our expected time of arrival. When we arrived, the person checking me in was professional. The room sufficiently met our needs. However, in the bathroom, the paint was peeling and one of the cabinets was broken. The breakfast that was provided on the day of our our check-out (we only stayed one night) was okay, but it would have been nice if fresh fruit had been available. The person who checked me out on the day we were leaving was professional.
