Everything was good but the picture online of the main building is a little deceiving. It is truly a motel.The room was nice except for the toenails left on the floor from a previous guest. Also no desk or table in the room so no place to eat a snack. Probably could a cheaper room and would stay in Nags Head if we go again. Much more to do there.

The Island Guesthouse was one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed. It was also very peaceful and quiet. Everyone we dealt with during our stay was helpful and friendly. The bathroom is a little small but it worked fine for our family. The Guesthouse was also conveniently located for the things we wanted to do while in the Manteo area.

It was a cute little place, very friendly people and very comfortable beds. That’s my biggest issue when traveling, so I was very happy with the whole place.

Clint the owner greeted us and made us feel special. He and his team truly knows the meaning of hospitality.
We had two rooms for the four of us. Both were superb. We also had a tour of the other rooms and all were beautiful. I work in high end hospitality and this place is fabulous.
Clint also gave us some really good tips on where to dine. Spot on.
Anyone visiting the Manteo area should book this place. A gem for sure. The attention to detail in each room is sublime.

Booked the last room available at late notice. Located in Manteo which is away from the beachiness of the OBX but conveniently located to get to things north and south easily. Manteo has a cute downtown and things to explore on its own. The hotel is a historic house and inn that has been totally updated. The rooms are nicely appointed and the hosts are accommodating and friendly. Because it is in an old house (at least our room was) the stairs are narrow and there are a few creaks in the floor. Nice front porch and fire pit area. Net-net — nice, unique place away from the beach.. would stay here again!

Beautiful property hidden within surrounding foliage. Perfectly laid out and rooms remodeled so modern. Staff was extremely friendly and hospitable. Loved the gravel drive with sea glass, tiki bar area for groups (bring own beverage) and fire pit area for your group. Just a more personal touch than a hotel.Loved our stay!

The property was very well maintained. They offered a coffee bar and also had bags of ice to take back to the room. The hostess was outstanding! She gave great recommendations for dinner. She went out of her way to make us comfortable. The property was also dog friendly. Our stay was wonderful!

Great location, service, and close to the outer banks. The owners were friendly and always willing to help and answer questions. The rooms were clean and always were equipped with new sheets and towels daily.

Had a lovely overnight stay in one of the guest rooms in the house. Room was very clean and in an excellent state of repair. If you can't climb stairs, one of the motel rooms would be better suited for you.

Overall the room was pretty good. It was clean when we arrived, beds were very comfortable, and the mini fridge was the largest I've ever come across in a hotel/motel. The highlight was the bathroom - decently sized with wonderful water pressure in the shower. My only critique is that I wish the window in the bathroom had some sort of privacy screen/film in addition to the blinds as the window faces out to the parking lot

What a delightful little beach motel. Owner/proprietor on the ball wanting to please. Bathroom updated, linens crisp. Whole motel extremely clean. Young lady in the office offered suggestion for dinner and where to get best view of sunset. Cant wait to return.

This property was so quaint and beautiful! The amenities were great! My room was very clean, nice size mini fridge, two comfy beds, and a beautiful bathroom! I came for a wedding and It was my first solo trip to the outer banks. I felt very safe in my accommodations and the staff was great! I had a nice chat this morning with the owner and I will definitely be staying here in the future! The coffee bar and lemon water was a very nice touch! All and all I enjoyed my stay here and I can’t wait to return!

What a great little find! We stayed in the main house and weren't really sure what to expected but it was wonderful! The room was well equiped and had plenty of space for us parents and the baby. It was so nice too to just be right downstairs watching TV in the lobby area after baby went to bed and not way down the hall and on a different floor. Great find and would recommend to all!
