Though the house size and location was what we were looking for, be sure to ask ahead of time if the A/C is working and if a dishwasher exists. Unfortunately for our stay, the A/C was out during a hot summer stay causing the family we were staying with to leave late at night because the upstairs was too hot for their baby; one could say sweating while sitting was beyond unpleasant. Further, the dishwasher was there, but lacked a top and bottom rack so it could not be utilized. Sheets in one of the upstairs had black staining, and the fourth bedroom was supposed to include two air mattresses, but only had one. The owner seemed surprised by the A/C, but box fans all over the house would indicate that there was prior knowledge of an issue. Disappointing.

I will start with the best thing about this property, which was communication. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, with prompt and friendly emails to give us directions and keep us informed. Also, the location is fantastic and we usually stay somewhere on this island once every fall. The house is spacious and provides all the basics for a weekend away, and the backyard firepit was fun to have. But if the devil is in the details, he has taken up residence here. When a listing says "dishwasher" and "TV," we tend to assume that the dishwasher works and that cable TV is available. Neither one of those is true here. There is a large smart TV in the living room, and IF you have your own subscription to Amazon Prime you can watch whatever is on Prime. Not optimal. Not everything is cleaned after every guest. We took care of the coffee pot and the deck chairs ourselves. Trivial, perhaps, but nice to have clean when you go to use them. Another highly frustrating aspect were the light switches. There are 14 light switches in the kitchen alone, and more in every room. What they do is anyone's guess. We never did figure out how to turn on the lights over the dining room table or in the master bedroom, and that wasn't for lack of trying. Going through the house with a label maker and labeling all the light switches would make the house so much more agreeable to visiting strangers. It wasn't horrible. But given the price, it felt more like a Motel 8 than we would have liked.

Great location for a fun weekend. The backyard is awesome, we brought cornhole and other yard games. There is a nice fire pit as well. Walking distance from Cranberry restaurant & bar which has music and good food.

House was very clean and beds comfortable. Close to my family on the lake so great for our reunion. Only issue was with the oven. We weren’t doing much cooking so no big deal for us! Until next time…..

Nice quite place. We hiked local lake trails and we had a fire in the back yard at night.
