Reception staff were lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. Bar area very attractive and bedroom and bathroom extremely spacious. Excellent breakfast. Location was perfect in the centre of Ely.

Rather overpriced but there isn’t any competition so I guess they can charge what they like. Staff at breakfast were a bit grumpy which was a shame as all the other staff members were lovely.

Stayed for New Year’s Eve. The atmosphere in the bar/writing room was amazing. The room was stunning. The staff were exceptional. Would recommend to anyone for a luxuries stay. Will defiantly return.

Really good full english breakfast. Although poor lighting for makeup in room they were comfortable spaces, the bed was very good. The lounge bar and adjoining courtyard provided a very comfortable and relaxed space. The staff were friendly and helpful

All staff very nice and accommodating. Room very spacious with nice view of the cathedral. Nice grounds and gardens.

Reception area very small. Fairly long wait for breakfast, when it came one item was missing but soon rectified. Nice breakfast overall and nice relaxing breakfast room and very attentive staff.

Some drinks overpriced, e. g cocktails, which were awash with ice, and one forgotten, and 2 breakfast orders were wrong. Please could the waiting staff who were generally very good be asked not to say ‘no problem’ every time one says thank you.

Breakfast was excellent, but there was a shortage of staff which resulted in long waits for food. Best thing was the location, directly in front of the cathedral, and within a few minutes walk of all locations.

Room to load/unload cars when arriving or departing.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The view from the room was lovely. The shower was good although could have been a bit more powerful. The bed was very comfortable. You can walk to all the main attractions; Oliver Cromwell's house, the cathedral and down to the river.

There was a pelican crossing just in front of the hotel and the noise was a little annoying, mainly because the area is so peaceful. The bath was almost the size of a swimming pool, not tempting at all. It was quite expensive but you get what you pay for!

Location and setting very good.

Had to wait a while for check in with no acknowedgement from staff. Not shown to room. Room lacked a couple of amenities that should have been in place, although resolved quickly. Parking situtation not ideal. Maybe a concierge service ?

Stunning large room with views of the Cathedral. Comfy bed & very well appointed bar & restaurant. Good food.

We have stayed at the Poets House before and it was just as wonderful as the first time, if not better as we had a room at the back rather than at the front. We love having a bath in the bedroom as it's such a luxury! Our evening meal in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back but we have to save up first as it's quite expensive to stay here.

The only slight niggle we had was the bed being too hard for us but it was very comfortable never the less.

Excellent location and easy parking not too far away. Recommend room 16 had 2 windows to the front overlooking the cathedral and church. Bit odd having a bath in the room but handy for filling the kettle! Roomy shower and ensure all good.

Fragrance sticks in the ensuite should either be refilled or chucked as clearly unused for months. Pillows were so firm and hard it meant we didn't have a good night's sleep. Food was ok but dinner lacked flavour eg fishcake just tasted of fish and potato no parsley or other herbs and the tiny amount of sauce with it was tasteless so ended up using tomato sauce which was a pity...best thing was the slice of lemon! Sausage and mash lacked butter despite saying there was thyme butter and the whole dish was too dry needing a gravy or a sauce. Coffee sachets in the room were basic Nescafe...expected at least Gold Blend or better for the money!

Very comfortable room. Very central, right opposite cathedral. We even had a view of the cathedral from our room. Helpful staff.

There is no onsite parking. There is a free secure car park about a 5 minute walk away. Not a problem in good weather, but would be a nuisance if raining.
