Pros : Très joli séjour à St Martin, l'appartement dispose d'une situation idéale dans l'hypercentre tout en échappant aux nuisances de la vie nocturne. La vue sur le port est magnifique et le couché de soleil dans le salon n'enlève rien. L'appartement a du cachet avec ses poutres et sa belle hauteur sous plafond. Il est décoré avec gout et sobriété. La ville est très agréable avec ses restaurants et commerces. De très belles balades à vélo ou en mer sont possibles aux alentours. Cons : pas possible d'accéder à l'appartement en voiture. Il y a bien une place de parking mais il faut tout de même prévoir un bon 500m de marche avec les valises / les courses donc le 1er jour est difficile. On aurait aimé des draps de lits repassés le jour de notre arrivée

Superbe emplacement, avec de superbes vues sur le port, tout en étant légèrement en retrait pour plus de calme. Bien que sans balcon, appartement clair, lumineux, propre, bien agencé et bien équipé ! Et très chouette séjour !!!

Nous avons apprécié l’architecture et l’histoire du bâtiment. Ainsi que le calme, la vue exceptionnelle sur le port, l’océan et les couchers de soleil. L’équipement de l’appartement reste succinct, le lave vaisselle fonctionne mal, la hotte de cuisine est absente et le sèche linge inexistant. La seconde chambre est une mezzanine ouverte sur le salon, accessible par un escalier/échelle et dont le plafond est à 1 mètre du lit. La salle de bain propose une douche non fermée et est de ce fait humide. Cependant la disponibilité et l’amabilité du propriétaire et de la personne chargée de la conciergerie ont atténué une partie de notre ressenti.

We had a wonderful week on the Ile de Re in this lovely apartment. The location was perfect and the view amazing. We were able to watch lots of interesting harbour activity and were lucky enough to have the windows open in the lovely sunshine. We found the downstairs bedroom and the bathroom a bit small; we didn’t use the upper bedroom which was a bit larger but not so convenient. The living room was spacious and the whole apartment was well equipped. The arrangements with the owner Dominique and also Muriel who showed us to the apartment worked perfectly and both were extremely helpful. The local market was fantastic and there is a small supermarket opposite which was useful. The 2 main supermarkets were only a few minutes away by bicycle. We used Yootoo for our bike rentals (electric) and they were good, storing and charging our bicycles overnight. We would love to return to this apartment and the Ile de Re sometime, and would definitely recommend this rental.

The location of this wonderful place couldn't have been more perfect! This has been one of our best vacations and the place, location and people of Saint-Martin-de-Ré were one of the reasons for it. The apartment is lovely decorated and has everything you need for a lovely stay. After a day filled with beach visits and biking it felt nice to come back to the place to just chill and maybe cook something for lunch/dinner. The apartment is bright and offers beautiful views of the harbor.Its big windows let in a nice ocean breeze. We loved that restaurants, markets and stores were in walking distance. Our kids enjoyed getting pastries and fruit for breakfast or some tasty ice cream for dessert. It was nice that we were able to bike or just walk everywhere. This is the second time we rented a beautiful apartment from Dominique (the other one was in Paris). It's always such a pleasure to talk to her and she makes sure that you have every information you need to start your vacation with no worries. Muriel who looks after the property on Saint-Martin-de-Ré is amazing. She welcomed us and gave us any additional information that we were interested in. We unfortunately ran into some dental issues with one of our kids and Muriel was wonderful at helping us to get a dentist appointment. There is no need to use your car during your stay. We parked ours safely in a free parking lot close by (walking distance) and only used our bikes on the wonderful biking trails on the island. Everything is pretty flat, which made it easy to explore the island or to take our kids on longer bike rides. There is so much to see and the beautiful beaches make it easy to relax. Thank you Dominique for letting us rent your beautiful place. Hopefully one day we can visit again!

We have had a wonderful stay on Ile de Re. The apartment is perfect for a visit here and we enjoyed coming home each evening. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is small but no more needed and well equipped. The views from this property are wonderful. Plenty of good food, shopping, bike hire (which is a must) and boat trips nearby and a beach 10 minutes bike ride away. Muriel who looks after the property is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations. All in all we have had a wonderful time with very good weather too.

Very nice apartment in great location with fab views. Muriel met us late and facilitated late check out she has excellent English and was helpful. Beautiful place, everyone cycles and lovely beach only 5 min walk. Definitely would recommend to a friend.

Only issue was the WiFi. Apartment was lovely, tastefully furnished, and had beautiful views of the harbour. Arriving and departing was smooth and easy.

Se réchauffer devant un bon feu de cheminée après une longue promenade sur la côte sauvage tout en regardant les bateaux sortir du petit port de Saint Martin, que demander de mieux ! Peut être les délicieuses huitres du port de la Flotte ou les glaces et gauffres de la Martinière ? Merci à notre hôte très accueillante pour ses bons conseils. On recommande !

This is a beautiful apartment set in the most spectacular position on the harbour, excellent in every way. The owner was most helpful and flexible responding quickly to contact and most pleasant to deal with. The detail of facilities within the apartment are of high quality and not lacking in any way. Plenty of kitchen equipment to enable food preparation and eating. With dishwasher, fridge and cooker with hot plate, however with so many fantastic restaurants so close at hand it is hard to justify cooking at all! The bedrooms are most comfortable with good quality linen, the mezzanine room is low but at 6ft 2 we managed to come home without any head injury sustained. The bathroom is a good size with nicely spacious shower. Ile de Ré is a beautiful island and deserves being fully explored, especially by bicycle along the safe and well posted cycle paths. The beaches are delightful with plenty of space for sunbathing and water sports. This is our third visit to this special island and we will be back, and most definitely would book this apartment again.

The pictures accurately depict the property: it was clean & the cupboards are well stocked with all the day to day essentials - cutlery & dishwares, cooking supplies, cleaning supplies, iron, hair dryer, etc. The harbour is really lovely & the flat felt very secure, & was indeed filled with loads of natural light. A few things that were of frustration to us ... the owner stated we would be informed of arrival information a few weeks in advance of our stay. I didn't receive this. I emailed her asking about bike rentals info & received no response. The day BEFORE our arrival I emailed & asked for arrival information - we received no response. We were left to to drive during peak time, 2 kids in tow, not knowing where we were staying or if someone would be there to let us in. I kept having to turn on my international data to check for a response which was never there. Finally we were able to get ahold of her via telephone after attempts to text failed, & she was pleasant enough but we really felt this was a lot of undue stress, & cost us undue expense. Upon arriving we spent ages circling attempting to get to the inner harbour. Having no knowledge of the location we didn't know this was an impossible feat -- you need an access code to drive near the inner harbour. We parked as close as we could & carried everything (not pleasant with two small kids, and a months worth of stuff...) & stood awkwardly outside an UNADDRESSED apartment wondering if we had found the right place. We are shuffled into the apartment by a pleasant enough man (we were expecting a lady...) & given one key. We quickly realize we had no idea where we were to park for the week, how to dispose of garbage nor are we able to access wifi. I'd specifically asked about parking & was told it was 5min away. There is a lot 5min away, it is 32 Euro A DAY. That adds a significant expense to the rental & after inquiring again we were told more accurately where it was which was more like 15min away & there is no access to the unit for dropping of luggage/groceries/children/etc. This was a major inconvenience to us & I wish it had been more clearly communicated. Wifi - didn't work for half the week, when it did wasn't strong enough to even stream Netflix & would drop. These inconveniences sound minor but on a vacation, esp with kids, you just don't want to be worried about them! I'd suggest 2 keys, better parking info & consistent wifi. It was a disappointing first VRBO experience

We had a perfect stay on the Ile de Re. This charming apartment is set on the top floor, with magnificent views over the picturesque Port of St Martin. We sat at the large windows in full western sunlight, watching the boats enter the port below us; it was as if we were sitting on a terrace, or in the crow’s nest of a ship! The apartment is lovely. Tastefully decorated and in perfect condition. We really appreciated the comfortable, high quality bedding and modern amenities. Our hostess was considerate and helped make our hassle free. All in all, a perfect get away. From every window you see the ocean or port - you couldn’t ask for a more delightful vantage point. During the day we took in the wonderful nautical atmosphere of the port. At night we slept by the quiet rhythms of the sea. We would go back to this little corner of paradise in a heartbeat!

We really enjoyed staying this apartment. The great location, over looking harbour and sea. We went out to sone brilliant restaurants near by. The market and artisan bakery are within couple minutes walk!

I can thoroughly recommend this apartment. The owner was a delight to deal with as she answered e-mails very quickly and in detail. We arrived by bus from La Rochelle and the owner's agent met us at the bus stop and took us to the apartment which was very thoughtful of her. The apartment is small but has everything we needed. The views of the harbour are magnificent and it was wonderful to throw open the shutters in the morning and see the light dancing on the water. The location is also excellent. However a word of caution to those above medium height - beware the bedroom ceiling on the mezzanine floor! I banged my head many times. The apartment has Wi-Fi but we couldn't log on as apparently the Ile de Re has temperamental coverage. My advice to anyone thinking about booking this apartment is 'Book It'!

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable dans ce charmant appartement avec une vue imprenable sur le port et sur l'océan. Il est idéalement situé, à quelques minutes à pied du marché couvert où l'on peut acheter tous ses fruits et légumes frais ainsi que son poisson ou sa viande. Etant sans voiture, nous avons bénéficié du loueur de vélo, situé à 100m, pour partir à la conquête de l'île sur les pistes cyclables toutes aménagées à cet éffet. L'appartement est idéal pour 2 couples ou 1 couple avec 2 enfants. Vous vous y sentirez tout de suite comme chez vous, bénéficiant d'une bonne sélection de DVD en cas de jours de pluie !

This is a beautiful apartment in a prime location of the Ile de Re's main town. The apartment is modern and well-appointed, and well suited for four people (we were a family with two children), as there is a loft bedroom with a large bed, and a separate bedroom on the main floor with two single beds. Organization of the rental was flawless, as there is someone who locally manages the place and is able to assist with any issues. We are not from France, so we came without a car - transfer by bus from the station in La Rochelle was easy, and there is also a bus that links towns on the island. Mostly, however, we used bikes that we rented. The island is flat enough that even our seven-year-old managed well. In this type of apartment, there is no outdoor terrace, of course, but the main living room is so flooded with light that we found we didn't miss it. We often bought our picnic dinner at the nearby market and ate in the dining nook, enjoying the magnificent view of the harbor. The convenience of being able to walk out of the apartment and into the activities of the St. Martin harbor area more than made up for not having an outdoor area of our own. There is no photo of the bathroom on the website, but rest assured, it is fairly spacious and modern, with a large shower and a great deal of wood. There is also a washing machine, which is convenient. For washers and dryers, there is a laundromat not too far away, in a shopping center. For couples, groups, or families that enjoy historic style and a prime "urban" location, this is the perfect place - we loved our stay immensely!

A beautiful apartment in the heart of St Martin. The view is amazing. We loved watching the boats coming in and out of the port while having breakfast or from the mezzanine bedroom. The apartment is tastefully furnished, well equipped and had all we needed. Perfectly located for dinner in the port, the daily market and to access Il de Re's fantastic cycle paths.

We loved staying in this beautifully situated apartment which gives onto the harbour of St Martin (classified by Unesco) and the view on the ocean. The apartment is well furnished, in a simple modern style, and well equipped. The harbour is very lively and changes throughout the day. There are lovely restaurants and cafés everywhere and we found it a perfect spot from which to explore the island on our bicycles. There is also a wonderful covered food market nearby and you can do everything on foot. We certainly intend to go again!
