Everything was good, but lots of ants and no microwave. Which is needed sometimes.

The hotel is generally not bad. The service in the restaurant leaves much to be desired, although the food is quite tasty. We arrived in the morning, the receptionist offered to upgrade the room, promised an updated room with a larger area. It is difficult to say about the quality of the finishing, but she lied about the footage of the room. This is very disappointing.

Location and the grounds were beautiful. Helpful staff.

The Outrigger's proximity to Black Rock, with its cliff jumping and snorkeling, was wonderful for the teenagers we brought!

This property has such a beautiful calm and traditional setting. The view from the ocean view room was incredible. The brewery had fantastic meals although the staff seemed under trained. The grounds are very well kept- perfect. The rooms are spacious and clean and modernised but the accommodation buildings are older motel style. We had a wonderful stay and would return.

Location for the hotel is unbeatable. I've been at KBH few times before they built the restaurant at the front lawn. I'm not really a fan of the way it was built, it obstructs the beach view and the exhaust and AC from the building creates a lot of noise close to the pool. Pool is pretty small for the size of the hotel. They need to put more showers and signs asking people to wash the sand before going into the pool. Lawn chairs need an upgrade, they are from the 90s and not comfortable. I stayed for first time in one of the renovated rooms and it was pretty good and clean. Closet is really small. Need some sort of dryer on the patio to hang your wet swimming suits. They save money and do not do full service every day, but at least change towels so if you are not messy and do not mind making your bed yourself, it is Ok. Not sure what the resort fees are for, I was not able to connect to the wifi at all. Parking is really expensive. There is not much choice of food unless you go to the Whalers shopping area. The deli corner shop used to have some food items but not anymore, just juice, alcohol, expensive chips. Good thing is they have few water stations to fill water bottles. I miss the luau and the Sunday brunch they used to have, as well as the welcome breakfast. The chairs, umbrellas and cabanas on the beach are very expensive. I would assume the resort fees should cover a set of chairs and umbrella, but no. It's always been that you have to pay but it is getting expensive.

Our stay at the Outrigger was amazing! Upon my research for our trip to Maui, this was one of the cheaper resorts to stay at, and I’m glad we ended up choosing the Outrigger. It’s true what people said on my research that the Outrigger is the “most authentic Hawaii kind of experience” hotel you’ll receive alongside the Kaanapali beach. We also went to visit a few more hotels, and although, they were really nice, my mom and I felt that those hotels were definitely shooting more for the high end status, whereas the Outrigger is shooting more for its originality and authenticity. Easy access to the beautiful Kaanapali beach. My mom and I felt that our hotel had better and a more clearer view of the beach than the others. Upgrade to an ocean room. It’s so worth it! The Outrigger is also walking distance to Whaler’s Village and other hotels nearby. The staff here are SO kind! We arrived earlier than our check in, and the guy was kind enough to let us have our room already, ready to go with our beautiful ocean view. Helene at the front desk was super friendly. She is the one who told us on our departure day that there is going to be a farewell lei ceremony. Powerful moment of Hawaiian culture. Breakfast buffet is $30 per person, but in my opinion, worth it. Wide variety of delicious and healthy food for everyone to enjoy. Maui Brewing restaurant has delicious drinks! Choose The Outrigger for your Maui stay! We will definitely be back!

We had a bungalow for 2 days and really enjoyed the ease of in and out of room to beautiful courtyard. Inside the room was quiet, spacious and comfortable. The location was convenient to great restaurants. We had lunch at the hotel and it was yummy.

not much in the way of eateries in the area all the restaurants are pretty pricey and mire or less serve the same food.

We come here every year, you can’t beat the view from the oceanfront rooms. Being steps from Kaanapali beach is incredible.

We enjoyed our first stay in Maui at Outrriger resort. The resort is very close to all attractions on the beach and the Whaler Village shops and restaurants.

This property is in a prime location on Kaanapali Beach between the Sheraton/Black Rock and Whaler’s Village. It is an average, 3-star hotel with a tiny pool and maid service that doesn’t necessarily make up your room every day. You get what you pay for accommodation-wise, but it’s a perfect location on the beach with convenient access to ABC Store to grab food/necessities and swimming/snorkeling location on the beach. Normally, we stay at the Sheraton, but this year I brought my kids myself and thought I’d save money by staying here. The Sheraton (and Hyatt) are much nicer and more expensive - 4-star resorts with more amenities offered. My biggest frustration was that the Outrigger does not offer a shower room for people who have late-night flights. This is standard at properties like Hyatt, Sheraton, or Four Seasons because people always spend the day at the beach if they have late- night flights and must check out of their rooms. I recommend staying here if you are on a tighter budget, don’t care about having a resort-style pool, grounds, or housekeeping services, and just want a hotel room with a mini-fridge to stay right on the beach.

Beautiful resort. Our room could use some renovations, but it was spacious. The restroom did not have any ventilation and they wanted an additional $600 for a room upgrade to a newly renovated room. The $90 chair and umbrella daily rental was shocking since we were already paying a resort fee.

Properly was ok, staff was friendly and very attentive, except for the brewery staff and the people on charge of the beach towels and chairs. Be aware that even when you look in Expedia the property amenities said they have beach activities and rentals once you check in they clarify that they are not part of the Hotel. The people managing that area are horrible and their customers is the worst. I was there for 5 days, two of them I wasn’t able to get towels for the beach in the morning and a third day in the afternoon, the people attending just give you attitude as if they are doing you a favor, and this considering that the hotel supposedly provide you with the towels. If you are paying $300-$400 per night I was expecting better service.

easy to check in early. Great location in kaanapali! Keep in mind that with resort fees parking it’s about $100/day more than what is listed on Expedia. It was awesome having Maui brewing there to grab happy hour each day. Would also recommend getting a renovated room as this is one of the oldest hotels on the area.
