One lady at the reception was brilliant, so friendly! The room was clean with a huge bed. The bed was comfy. The shower was great! The breakfast had everything you need. It was 3 minutes walk from the centre of Northampton.

poor and would never stay again, we had friends who were sitting inthe room with us until midnight and got accused of them staying in a single room.
we ended up leaving the same night and stayed elsewhere as was insulted

Fantastic service. Every member of staff is extremely friendly and attentive.
Breakfast was lovely. It was good to have soya milk.
The hotel has recently been refurbished and is close to the town centre - so very convenient.
The rooms are newly refurbished, and the king size rooms are comfortable.

Nice hotel, looks like it's recently been refurbished. Comfortable room and close to town center. Staff in bar seemed to need a little training but otherwise a decent stay.

Only two real issues...
Firstly the check out time is 11am and the cleaner started knocking the door at about 9am wanting to clean the room. We advised we were still busy but she came back multiple times. Very annoying when it's not time to check out yet.
Secondly, not the hotels fault but the car park backs onto a public park area which has a large amount of drug users present who were singing and making noise during the day. This made me concerned at the safety of my car on the carpark. Maybe this area could be secured better to prevent this and to reassure guests.

We had a great stay at Mercure Northampton. Super welcome on arrival. Room was great. However, there was a chess competition on over the weekend, so breakfast was no fun at all! Terribly behaved, greedy children and parents just as bad. Very rude and the food waste was heart breaking. Staff did a great job so not sure what can be done about the guests....

Very comfortable and value for money we went in a Sunday night disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t open but we had a lovely curry in the bar area

On arrival reception staff were good. However, the room had no bottles of water, water or wine glasses provided, no robes provided and no bath tub in the king size room, which was basic. They wanted to charge £4 to bring an ice bucket and 2 wine glasses to the room and said they were too busy to facilitate the request but the bar and restaurant were empty when we went down there. The guy behind the bar had no idea what he was doing (Pavel) & didn't know the wine selection on offer. He couldn't even ring drinks through the till, rolled his eyes when asked for ice and an ice bucket. However the breakfast was good and reception staff were good.

Stayed here with a friend for one night and couldn't fail anything. Check In was really friendly, room was lovely and spacious and the hotel is close to everything in Northampton you need - so just perfect.

I was disappointed with standard of cleanliness. There were pubic hairs in the shower and although I asked politely to the receptionist and she did called housekeeping, the state of the shower was the same also the sink was very dirty! The bed was lovely and wide that was nice, the corredor leading to the room was not lighted and looked non inviting

Nice hotel, very clean, staff friendly and efficient. One thing that let it down was the fact that there was only one lift (unsure if the other was out of service or just for staff) and there was usually a few mins wait for it to arrive. Breakfast was nice, although disappointed at the undercooked bacon and lack of pastries.

Felt like Receptionist checked me in with a list… asked me to write out email /number etc when booking had it included. he failed to realise I should have an upgrade if available or decided not to offer as rooms were still available when I checked in.

Manager was rude. Small elevators. Didnt refund money when made reservation made by mistake. Housekeeper nice, no microwave, no refrigerator. Otherwise okay

This hotel was one of the highlights to my experience super great staff from the receptionists to the housekeepers and restaurant staff. With what's available in the area hotel wise, I was pleasantly surprised. Big spacious room although I have to mention there's no bath, but the shower is good even for those who prefer bath time:)
Only thing I would add to as a future suggestion is just more vegan options, like avocado etc...

It’s weird there was no refrigerator nor microwave in the room and the kitchen closes as early as 9pm this one of the worst if not the worst hotel I ever stayed
