I stayed at this hotel because my father was in the nearby hospital. Upon entering, I was hit in the face by the foul order of sewage on the first floor. My room was on the fourth floor, and I did not notice the odor inside the room itself. However, on the second night at 3 AM I was awoken by a thick foul smell of sewage in my room that was coming from the drains in the bathroom. It was so bad. I was unable to sleep the rest of the night and first thing in the morning I checked out to go to another hotel. I brought this to the attention of the hotel manager and she did not seem surprised. She said I should have called and they would have sent a maintenance person up to fix the problem. I explained that this is not a problem that a maintenance man will be able to fix . What would you do spray air freshener in my room? the problem is systemic. There is something seriously wrong with this hotel and it will require plumbing professionals or possibly even a civil engineer to diagnose the source of the sewage smell coming through the drains. The problem is somewhere in the infrastructure of the hotel and they really need to get it fixed. In addition, the carpets are disgusting and there are many cosmetic issues throughout. The room itself was not bad until the smell. The breakfast was OK, but I could not eat the second morning due to the bad taste in my mouth. This could be a decent hotel if they fixed those issues and could probably get a higher nightly rate for the investment.

Stay was great and hotel staff was amazing. Front desk concierge was absolutely wonderful. Her name is Dakota. Very friendly and accommodating. We would come back again and again.

Carpets needed scrubbing or replaced. One area not to economize is the toilet paper. No one wants it to dissolve while using it. Our bathroom had an odor but I’m not sure why, the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Well located

Great place to stay, staff were all super nice and sweet, and I really enjoyed the proximity to downtown. Felt safe walking from hotel to downtown area and back, even after the sun set.

The desk clerk sent us to a room that wasn’t ready yet. There was a worker in there fixing things then we had to go back to the desk and tell the guy. And wait for him to find us another room. It was very inconvenient.

Room was cleaner than the rest of the hotel. Hallways, elevators and doors/windows could use a good cleaning!

There really is not anything real close to walk to and the river view is not much of a view, it’s more a view of M25.

The potted flowers are lovely and add a welcoming touch. The carpet in the hallways and stairwells is smelly and stained. John checked us in and apparently failed to activate our key for the duration of our stay, so we were locked out of the back door and our room after a long day at the beach and hauling all our gear in. He blamed someone else for it, rather than apologizing. Also, he did not ask for my ID before he gave me a new key! The rest of the staff we met were friendly and professional, including the second-floor housekeeper and both breakfast room attendees.

Thought toilet was running, clapper stuck possibly in room behind us, 206...BUT WAS OURS..every minute or less it gurgled!! All night. I told staff in morning, at check out. Had hoped for a lake view room, should have asked for one. Bed was wonderful, room a/c not needed, used blanket in closet, as was too cold..tried to chg machine to heat but didn't warm well. 206 had loud night, too, could hear thru walls, till midnight.. drinking, maybe?? Great rooms and staff .

Met needs. Room needed to be deep cleaned for sure. Found hair in bedding and shower. Not ideal.

Property was clean seemed a little older than some hotels. Pool was clean and well maintained.

Filthy carpet in hallways and room.

Sadly due to a delayed ferry we didn’t arrive till late so couldn’t take advantage of the location or facilities.

A bit aged

The carpets throughout were needing a deep clean or replacement. The stairwells smelled like urine. The room was mostly clean and mostly comfortable with the exception of what looked like someone spit their chew into the trash and missed and it wasn't noticed by housekeeping. It was on the wall and carpet. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. Worked for what we needed it for.

It was advertised we would have a view of the city or the river, however, our view was the parking lot!! So disappointed. Staff was nice and breakfast was good though.

Great staff

Hotel comfortable, convenient and quiet at night...walking distance to parks, restaurants, shops, planetarium. No fee for parking. In room amenities...microwave, refrigerator, hot water maker. Breakfast really good!! Staff friendly and attentive. Enjoyed our two-night stay!

Walls were paper thin, outside of breakfast service staff was not around, overall terrible smell.

Great stay

Overall the staff was great very friendly. Outside we were smoking which i did appreciate the outdoor smoking area however we had homeless coming to us asking if we smoked pot and when we said no he took the astray and tried to take it a part to get any marajana he could. Felt very uneasy about it. The room was clean however i could not get past the smell in the hallway of mold. Staff was great pool was great no restaurants in the hotel but some close by. Seems as if it were more of a long term hotel for people living there and workers not vacationers.

What I liked about the Comfort Inn was it was easily accessed to the carnival and the 4th of July fireworks. Unfortunately there was more wrong than right the building definitely needs an update clean carpets modern coffee makers in the room and if they have no room service then they need to keep their vending machines full there is no access to vending machines everyone was empty the free breakfast in the morning was very nice and the walk to go get something to eat was not that great and no convenient like drugstore nearby. Pool area can use an update cleanliness was not good bathroom was unsatisfactory. Only thing accessible to drink was cold lemon water by the lobby.

It was a good stay for traveling through.
