The hotel was in poor condition.
The first room we had was dirty, specifically in the bathroom. The air conditioning did not work correctly and we were uncomfortable.
The furniture was chipped and tired.
When contacting reception about the air con, we were advised that it was impossible to reach a lower temperature than 24 degrees.
We requested another room later that evening. We moved to the 2nd floor. The air con unit reached a lower temperature and felt more comfortable, however the bathroom was even more dirty than the last one. The shower door was loose and scraping off the floor and there were large black areas in the corners.
This hotel stay was really disappointing.

Nice room in a good location but lacking amenities like coffee machine or kettle you expect in this kind of hotel.
Note: Rooms are NOT air conditioned! I was told that hotel does not turn it on at this time of year year (May).
While it wasn't necessary MOST of the time, when you do need it it's not working.
Hotel should not list rooms as air conditioned if it turn AC off!

Terrible. Didn’t have bed rule I booked. Ants. No air con. Exterior room and insanely loud with partners all night at the bed depot directly in front of the hotel. Absolutely shocking how disappointing this hotel was.

The hotel is good and a cleanliness is good. The comfort is not good because of no airconditioning. Its hot and the only way to get some cold air is to open the window. Also pollen from trees is going inside. I do not recomend for people with pollen allergy during this season. Otherwise is a good hotel.

In few words, this is not a 4 star hotel. 3 at best and not the best one. Cleanliness lacking, no air conditioning (30C / 86F in the evening in the room), rusted faucets, in room telephone not working, when working nobody answering at desk, only one person at desk very busy, very few electrical outlet (for cell phones) and not conveniently located, ...

It was filthy. The property was impressive when we first entered the main foyer and the staff was friendly. However, once we hit the elevator button, conditions were horrible. Holes in the ceilings, and a cigarette smoke smell in the hallway, and our room made our skin crawl. It was beyond filthy and it looked like someone had a major 'fluid problem' that ended up on the floor and walls. Our bathroom smelled profusely of urine. I didn't dare take a shower...

Service was horrible. Guy at the front was very rude and slow. But the gym is very nice and the man who works at the bar is very kind. Rooms are okay.

glass shower door hinge broken, almost impossible to open and the glass rubbing against the shower floor, in danger of breaking. they said they will look at it, but did not bother to check it out.

Hotel is very old especially in the rooms , some taps are rusty, beds are lose and noisy when you turn and staff are not helpful.
Very expensive for what it is. No iron and boards in the rooms so basically you have to carry you dirty linen all the way to the bicycles repair room where there is one iron and board for the whole hotel. If you are not lucky you have to wait for a long time to get to your turn if you have two people in front of you while people come in and out repairing bicycles.

Great and central location. It’s an old building so our room did NOT have air conditioning… when we complained to the staff they said “you can open the window for air”
They have no free parking but they have a company that can valet the car for 30 euros… do this as parking is difficult.

Upon arrival we felt like this was going to be an excellent stay. We found the room clean and comfortable, but we could not get the a/c to keep us comfortable. It had a governor on the controls. The location of hotel is good, but there are very few restaurants nearby to choose from. One evening after a long, tiring day of touring, we wanted to eat in the hotel restaurant. When we asked for a table we were told that the restaurant was closed for a private party and that the kitchen had a very limited menu. This forced us to leave hotel and walk to a restaurant.

Good location just outside main centre of Siena but easy walking to shopping areas/piazza etc. Big room with comfy bed and all amenities.
Staff helpful during check in when my booking via Expedia wasn’t showing up. Excellent range of breakfast options.
Some road noise but nothing you wouldn’t expect in a busy city.

Great location next to centre of town and Duomo area. 10 minutes by taxi from Siena rail station. Lots of very good small local restaurants within a few hundred metres. Good value. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the breakfasts very much.

The NH Siena has a great location. However the breakfast buffet was dismal for NH standards. I asked for croissants and in a thirty minute period they were not delivered. Likewise with many options in the buffet. Other than this a great hotel.

Although we don’t smoke, ventilation in the building allowed for neighboring rooms to make our room smell horribly like cigarettes.
There was blaring music outside that easily penetrated the walls.
The sheets were insanely scratchy.
Overall, we didn’t feel comfortable in the room and ultimately checked out early.

This place is so great, and good for its price too. Close to the center of town and close enough to the train station for a 20 minute walk. We got there right at check-in and they upgraded us to a superior room! Such friendly staff too!

The air conditioning in the entire hotel was not working on a day/night when it was over 30 degrees. Staff had no idea when it would be fixed and the best they could do is offer to cancel the reservation leaving us without a room.

Located near San Domenico and opposite bus station area, walking distance to centre and sights. Hotel showing some signs of wear and tear - my standard room had broken window and curtains and stained carpet. Breakfast buffet very busy, not enough tables, food wasn’t labelled. Huge problem was no air conditioning - they didn’t tell me it was broken when I checked in (though they were telling people the next day, when it had been out for at least two days already). I was moved to a better room (views of Duomo on skyline), with a window I could open, but having such a problem over so many days definitely wasn’t the four-star experience I’d paid for.

1. The hotel advertised AC, but did not have AC. It was extremly hot and we were unable to sleep most of the time. We were basically lied to.
2. Our first room had throw up on the curtains and the toilets hadn't been cleaned.
3. the front desk staff was SO NICE and wonderful! The state of the hotel was not a reflection of them.
