great staff and area

Worst 4 star hotel I’ve stayed in. Feels like a 3 star hotel. Pictures look much prettier than in person. It is extremely loud and does not quiet down until 12am - 1am. Lobby smells like mildew. Will not stay here again.

The property is clean and comfortable. And there is beach access which gives you lounger for the day. Note that there are public beaches all over Nice but they don't have loungers. Also the free breakfast in person is really good and there's a lot of variety. I was impressed. The staff are also very nice. I experienced a few hiccups during my stay. First room service didn't come. Not a huge deal. The next day I called the front desk and ordered a latte but that never came either. I received no reliable room service at all during the stay. Not really sure why. Another thing is at the coffee in the room is not good. It's instant coffee and it doesn't taste good. If the hotel can provide reliable room service and better coffee in the rooms I would stay again.

Great location, many restaurants, stores and close to the beach Beau Rivage staff were so helpful and understanding to us. Definitely will stay with them again.

Great continental buffet for breakfast

Although this hotel was quite nice it was nothing what we expected. Don't let the images of the beach fool you - you will not have access unless you pay additional money. And if you do pay you must sign up days in advance and arrive before 10am otherwise they will take your reservations. It was also across the street and down the road from the hotel. Most of the amenities listed were either not available or cost additional. I do not blame the hotel, but Expedia for false advertising. When i called to discuss this with them they were unwilling to give me a discount on this stay! We paid ALOT more than i usually would because I thought we had private beach access! the customer service agents were unwilling to admit that the images were misleading and basically told me i didn't look hard enough even though nowhere in the description was it listed that there was no beach access even though the majority of photos used on this listing were directly on the beach or in the private beach club. They gave me $30 expedia credit that i used on an excursion during the stay that they then COMPLETELY changed the time of the reservation to something i couldn't make - and they wouldn't refund the credit or the additional $20 i added. Safe to say i will never use Expedia again.

This hotel does not meet the 4 star hotel amenities. You will have better options for your buck!

Great location, just at the edge of the old city. Next to a big parking lot. The staff and room were great

Location is the winning aspect of this hotel. You are a block from Place Massena and a block from the beach. The room itself was adequate. The bed was comfortable, the balcony window was lovely to have. The only downer is the room's carpeting is tired and should really be replaced. Our package included daily breakfast. It was very nice and we enjoyed it because if you go any place else for breakfast you get one cup of coffee, and that's it. Breakfast at Hotel Beau Rivage you get a small carafe. If you are like me, you need more than one cup of coffee in the morning. Over-all we enjoyed Hotel Beau Rivage. Is it worth $300 a night? It's debatable, but the location is superb and we were comfortable there.

Beautiful place

My wife and I were looking forward to our 4 night stay here. After just one night at the Beau Rivage we were unhappy with our decision. To keep this review short I have compiled a list of things that made us regret staying here: - King size bed is just two smaller mattresses pushed together. As a result there is a big crack down the center of the bed. - Only 1 bottle of water is included with the stay. All additional bottles of water are charged at 6€. - There is no coffee machine in the room. At this point coffee machines are a commonality in the majority of hotels. - No power outlet in the washroom for self care and styling appliances. - The shower suds provided are “All in One”. This is unsatisfactory in a hotel that claims to be 4 star. - The flush lever on our toilet was broken. - Mini fridge was broken from the start and it took 2 days to get any results from the front desk & service technician. - The restaurant across the street had a band playing music so loud you could feel the windows vibrate. This happened until 1:00am every night of our stay. Hundreds of people inside the restaurant and spilling into the streets. We have stayed at many 4 star hotels around the world, and this was a subpar experience. I would rate this a 3 star hotel at best. For the price we paid in comparison to other options in the area we would recommend you consider booking a different hotel. Bon Voyage!

We stayed for 5 nights. On one of the last nights, we noticed a puddle of water on the (carpeted) floor. It was coming from the ceiling, leaking down through the closet where our clothes were and onto the floor. Turns out it was the A/C unit. We notified staff of the problem to have their tech resolve it. It took the maid coming and us saying she couldn’t clean our room until this was addressed to get this fixed. We had to wash all our clothes to get the bad smelling water off. The staff never followed up to ensure it was taken care of. The location is fabulous, but you will hear the music and noise of the streets until 1-2a. It was louder than our sound machine. The towels need to be replaced. They were as thin as they could get.

Conveniently located and friendly and helpful staff. Bathroom could use an upgrade especially for a 4-star rated hotel!

We arrived about 23:30 on Friday and we're given the worst hotel room I have been in - ever. There was a very questionable stain on the chair and dirty marks on the walls. Bathroom fittings falling off the wall. Visible dust around the top of the wardrobe.The carpet looked like it had previously been used in a cinema! 😂 Everything was tired and old. So we complained. We were moved to a room on the 2nd floor that was much nicer and actually resembled the pictures posted online. But it was right beside the lift which goes up and down all through the night. It was a cynical exploitation of the fact that we had prepaid through Expedia . You can't even talk to people at Expedia so there was no recourse. Be warned!

Nice location

Prime location. Beach club convenient in front of property, but you have to reserve ahead, at least a day before. Parking near by with hotel pass is very convenient; however, you need to make reservation for parking ahead bc if it is full, you have to park in the lot on your own at higher rate. Overall good location.

Overall we had an excellent experience here. Helpful and friendly staff. Our room was ready early which was nice. Room although small (expected for European hotels) was a-little bigger then we were expecting. Large bathroom a bit outdated and shower was a-little mildewy/moldy. I was easily able to shower without touching the shower walls so not a big deal considering the size of the bathroom and hotel price being very reasonable. Great location, the streets can be noisy at night but again we expected this as we were staying in Old Town. We had a center court yard room and was on the quiet side at night. We rented lounge chairs down on the beach one day. Was lovely. They could have had more staff, took awhile to get our servers attention when needing something. We would have ordered more and spent more money if we were able to get quicker service. -Value for how much it cost was on par. If we come back to Nice we would stay here again.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. The exterior and reception are well presented and staff welcoming upon checking in. The room was on the 4th floor and the lift to the room was incredibly small, much more a service lift than for those staying. I opted to use the stairs instead and the state of the ceilings and walls were very poor - bucket left in the stairwell for leaking pipework, hoover/fan left at the top of staircases, scuffs/marks up all the walls followed by stained, tatty carpets along the corridors. The room was really disappointing; dated, damage to furniture, mould in the bathroom, broken light fixings, dirty/stained carpets, hand print on the wall, limescaled bathroom fittings - no where near the standard I expected. It was a last minute birthday getaway and apart from the location being so central, I would not recommend this hotel. How the hotel can operate as a 4* is beyond me. The hotel parking is somewhat discounted but is in a public car park and not reserved parking. When I checked in, I was told they had no passes left for the car park until the following day so I had to pay the standard charge. I was told a pass would be available to collect the following day which I did. Upon checking out i was charged for the additional day and upon realising, had to explain to the receptionist who tried to deny the error. The chief finally agreed to the refund but it just topped off a very disappointing stay.

We had a room facing the street with restaurants and it was quite noisy late night. The breakfast is not worth spending money on- there are several bakeries in the near neighborhood which serves breakfast and has fresh pressed orange juice for less money than the price for the breakfast at the hotel.

Great hotel

This property was not up to my expectations. Nothing really wrong with it but it wasn't as good as it looked in the pictures online. Expensive because of the location not because its an excellent property.

I won’t stay there again , was very disappointed! I used to stay here before , it was so good but this trip was very disappointed.
