Dirty rooms and hallways. When we were cleaning up I asked front staff if we could have a couple extra minutes and they said yes I said I should be out by 30 mins after. 5 mins after checkout they were banging on the door and waiting for us. I was trying to do a quick clean before they came in as I wasn’t feeling good and wanted to do a quick clean of my germs. But when you have someone standing at your door trying to get rid of you. Absolutely disappointing. Not to mention the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows looked like kid pillows.

The hotel is in need of updating. The pool was out of order. The room smelled musty and smoky. It just looked very tired and in need of updating. I don’t think I would stay here again.

my family and i had a very nice overnight stay. employees were friendly and helpful. the pool area was closed for the season, but that was the only unfortunate thing.

We've stayed here before (August) for moving my son back to college. Price was double+, I'm guessing because it was a football weekend. The room needs some upgrading/taking care of. Large single chair was dirty, and the bathroom had several flaws. Toilet seat beat-up, baseboard with kleenex box needed some repair/paint job, as did the outside corner of bathtub. These items didn't cause us to not enjoy our trip, but for the price we paid, expect more.

Decent hotel for the price. We did not use pool area while we stayed one night. It's a smaller hotel. parking lot entrance needed potholes filled. Could use some updating but for the price, it served it's purpose

Immediately when we got there I had a bad feeling about this hotel. The outside was sketchy. I go & check in and get a room. Front desk guy was a little weird. I get into the room, it’s dirty, smells heavily of smoke (I requested nonsmoking), beds are wet, there is a dead bug on the desk, bubble gum stuck in the bathtub, and what appeared to be a camera stuck to the TV (that’s what my husband said, I never looked). It was awful. Never again. Ames isn’t a great town to begin with, and then to top it off this hotel was terrible. Save you’re money & time because this place is worthless.

It was ok for a safe and economical place to sleep and move on. Older property with noisy room AC and limited breakfast and lobby seating. It was a clean room. Staff was friendly.

The attendent at check-in was either shy or moody, as he barely said a word othet than asking for CC and ID. Room was clean, bathroom mostly clean. Not a ton of TV channel options. Fridge and microwave worked fine. Overall a good experience anf was well worth the rate paid.

We were impressed with the room for the good value. The breakfast was good. The swimming pool was too cold to go swimming. The outside was not impressive but nice inside. It was quiet. Close to the interstate and downtown Ames. We would definitely stay again.

This is my second time staying here this month and will be one of my go to hotels in Ames. It is clean and very quiet. The beds are alittle firm but the pillows help make up for it. The staff is friendly!

The motel was adequate, nothing special. Pool was cold, breakfast had few options and most were pre-packaged. Waffle machine, yogurt, 2 kinds of creal, coffee & juice.

I read some reviews for this property and had no expectations. After staying, i was very pleased. Everything was clean and in good condition. The breakfast area was clean, well stocked with your basic breakfast foods at a hotel like this, was fresh and good.
If I had to complain, the tissue box in my room was empty. I'll take that as the only negative every time.
For the price, this was a great experience for me.

The guy that checked us in was not very nice. I felt like he was very unprofessional. He came off as he didn’t want to be there.
Sitting in the lobby, a couple walked in to check in as well, and the guy at the front desk gave The customer a room key to a room somebody was already staying in. Which made us feel super unsafe.

The lobby, parking lot and area around the hotel was immaculate. The bathroom tub was a little dated. The room was clean.
It would be nice if they cleaned the pool. The dirt ring around the pool was about 3” wide which tells means the just add water and the floor of the pool was slimy.

The room was not updated and not clean, airconditoner was a wall unit that kept stopping and not working, and had to be reset. Could not see the temperature on the unit because it was an old unit.

Very disappointed in this hotel. The beds were uncomfortable. The staff was uninterested in being helpful (couldn't be bothered to get me an additional shampoo. Just looked in two drawers behind the front desk and then said they didn't have any. Similar situation when asking for the apple juice dispenser to be refilled at breakfast). Our room had a dirty shower curtain and our friend's room had a dirty comforter...and a floor so slanted that the drawers to the dressers kept opening! The breakfast buffet was VERY limited. Lots of lovely hotels in Ames...I won't stay here again.
