Another lovely stay at the hotel, it’s dog friendly and in a great beachfront location. Perfect for walks and getting to local pubs and restaurants. Fabulous breakfast as well!

An hour from home, door to door by bus. Very sustainable!

This hotel charges Londons west end prices but does not give the service you would expect. They may have non complaining customers due to is location and uppper class aging clinentel. The hotel boasts an In house Indian restaurant. On my first night i orderd a meal and i can honestly say it was the worst i have ever had and the most expensive. Most was from a packet, the chicken had been water induced, the sauce was week. The whole meal was non authentic. I hate complaining but when i did to the manager all i got was the responce ' But the chef is from Kathmandu?.no apology was offered , he was in fact aghast that i had compalined and said he would get back to me, which he did not. When i checked out the following day i was met with the same poor eccuse from the duty manager she also said i will get back to you. 24 hours on and no responce .Overall lack of responce from the managers is appaling, as is the food and the hygine. Eg smears on cutlery and glasses. I therefore do not recommend this hotel unless you are ok with sky high charges, poor hygine, and bad managment. I was at one stage expecting Basil Faulty to make an appearance. I would imagine now i am posting this they will respond. Lets see.

Great location for exploring Aldeburgh and the Suffolk coast. Very pleasant bar and restaurant areas. The Sea Spice Indian restaurant was particularly enjoyable. It’s an old building so there’s lots of stairs and at the time of writing the lift is out of service. The bedroom we occupied was small and comfortable for a short break, but the bathroom was a little dated. However, overall we felt it was good value and we would be happy to stay here again in the future.

Overall a great stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfasts. Hotel is a little tired, but rooms clean and bed comfortable. Location perfect for Aldeburgh town and beachfront. Parking is free at the hotel or on the roads outside.

Lovely hotel on the seafront and close to all of Aldeburgh's attractions. Would also recommend the Indian restaurant in the hotel which was delicious. The room was clean and spacious but very hot, even with windows open all day. The hotel itself has a lot of stairs and the lift was not working so do let them know if you need an accessible room. Overall would definitely stay again.

Lovely few days away. All staff very friendly and welcoming/approachable. Amazing choice of breakfast. Sofa areas tucked away for reading & chatting. Sea spice restaurant is a must try for dinner one night. We will be going back.

Nice hotel, not much parking but plenty free parking on the road. Room a little cramped but clean and very comfortable

Nice bedroom overlooking sea. Comfortable beds and furniture. Hostess tray well supplied. Good bathroom for an old hotel. Staff very helpful and breakfast was excellent. Lift out of order which was a problem as my husband has mobility issues but staff moved luggage for us.

Lovely location, great to have free parking. Very expensive hotel for the level of service we received. Staff were not very friendly. You felt like asking for things was a chore for them, especially the catering staff.

Very good value for Aldeburgh. Delightful and helpful staff in all areas. Good sized bedroom and bathroom. Only one improvement that could have been made would have been to be able to open the sash windows to allow for fresh air in the bedroom.

Great choice, the location was wonderful and as we arrived on public transport we found we could visit everywhere we wanted the same way. The room was warm and well looked after, even had bathrobes in the wardrobe. Breakfast had first class choices and was beautifully presented and cooked.

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable, although it was a little on the small side. The shower was easy to control and had power (although again the cubicle was a bit small). The reception, cleaning and breakfast staff were all very professional and helpful, and made us feel welcome. The breakfast is made to order and there is a good variety of choice. The pancakes and the veggie breakfast were both tasty. There is free public parking available opposite the hotel, this can get quite busy at peak times but we always managed to find a space.

We have stayed here many times in the past and have very happy memories of our times The hotel seemed to have a tough time during and after Covid lockdowns but has bounced back. Very pleased to see the dining options are now back, the fish and chips are excellent!

Very comfortable room, lovely staff, excellent breakfast, very good dinner and very relaxing. Aldeburgh is a lovely little town and the White Lion doesn’t disappoint.

A very sad and unloved hotel. Shocking state of repair both outside and in the bedroom. Ancient, scruffy furniture, peeling wallpaper, threadbare carpet, horrible bathroom, the worst loo roll seen since Izal in my infant school loos in the 70s. No plug sockets at bedside. Sea view obscured by filthy windows 😒 Room appeared clean, comfy bed, breakfast OK, breakfast room actually quite nice relatively, very good eggs... Not the cheapest hotel we've ever stayed in but probably one of the worst.

Lovely hotel and lovely staff however systems t support their efficiency are not in place so we fell victim a few times to being left without being asked if we needed anything. Our final breakfast took 25 mins from seating to being offered even a drink.

Very welcoming helpful staff. Rooms were very clean and the bed was really comfortable. Everything was thought of in the room including a fan which was great if you like to have the room cool. The breakfast was amazing and you could choose whatever you wanted from the menu. It was easy free parking right outside of the hotel which is great for anyone with mobility problems. Overall a great place to stay.

This is the 2nd New Year we have stayed at this hotel, the staff are so accommodating and always willing to put themselves out, great breakfast and super comfy beds, will be back again.

We stayed for 3 nights and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel was super clean and cosy with the gorgeous Christmas tree decorated! The rooms were lovely, the bed was comfy and the en-suite was so clean. Highly recommend

Good seafront hotel with all facilities we needed for a short break. Decoration of rooms is a little tired. Staff helpful and corteous
