Beautiful room and top notch staff.

It is a remarkable property. It is decorated in the 18th century, built in the 1300’s. Beautiful fabrics in the draperies and on the walls. Very old world and memorable. The staff is so kind and accommodating! It’s a little tricky to get to it, but well worth it!

Beautiful place - there was a small problem which the hotel rectified wonderfully. Fab hotel and restaurant. Will return

Great location next to the pope’s palace…

Phone was not charged in room. Unclear how to call room service. Tv remote only works up close to tv. Otherwise, beautiful room!

This 17th century chateau, converted to a luxury hotel a few decades ago, is a treasure in the heart of the walled city of Avignon. The rooms are spacious and elegant, with large, modern bathrooms. Service is impeccable. Although there can be minor language barriers at times, every employee goes above and beyond to make everything work with the magic that one can feel only in a special property like this.

Besides the hotel being unique in its splendor the staff was superb.

After a particularly frazzling day to arrive at the La Mirande and be so kindly and enthusiastically greeted by the bellman/porter in the late evening was a genuine delight and relief. He took everything off my hands. It was an oasis of calm with clean, comfortable rooms in a fascinating setting. The complimentary breakfast had the widest range of offerings I have experienced on my journey thus far, and the staff was great. I recommend!

Great service, very friendly staff and great restaurant deserving more than 1 star Michelin

Beautiful hotel, fantastic service. The room upgrade was amazing. This hotel had the most beautiful rooms, (both my mom and I had lovely unique rooms) a salon to die for with fireplace and cognac. Breakfast was amazing and they treated us like gold. There are not that many rooms, it’s wonderfully quiet and there is a UNESCO site out the window for a view. I woke up to beautiful birds chirping. I can’t say enough about this place.

Very quaint and elegant traditionally furnished and charming boutique hotel in the centre of town right next to the Papal Palaces. Food and service also excellent. Highly recommended, even though an expensive proposition.

We loved our stay in Avignon. The location was perfect for everything we did. You do not require a car in this area as it is difficult to drive in the narrow streets. The property is old work and stunning! The food was delicious and we can only say good things! Thank you for a beautiful start to our France holiday!xx

If there is any place that makes me say, I want to go back there, it is La Mirande in Avignon. Stylish rooms offer original 18th-century features, chandeliers, antique-style furnishings, paintings and art, a variety of pillows and comfortable beds. A breakfast buffet is served in a refined room or in the garden. The Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant offers a gastronomic journey around Provence. Adjacent to the Palais des Papes And right in the city center.

Beautiful hotel very well run. Very clean lots of history. The staff are amazing fast and efficient. The town is very central to visit towns around. We really loved our stay.

An exquisite and special place! Kind service coupled with a well maintained historic gem in the heart of Avignon.
The reataurant was a particular standout and should not be
Missed!

Very average for a five star hotel - the bed configuration wasn’t ready when we arrived, nor were there enough towels. There was no running water at one stage and later no hot water. Service very average.

A yound and very friendly team hosted us. Not all very experienced in running a 5 star hotel but extremely forthcoming and friendly. The hotel is perfectly situated in the very heart of the town. The food was too fancy and the choice too limited but quality was very good.

Great experience, very kind/helpful staff at the service desk and THE best location in Avignon.

It is an amazing hotel in the center of old town. It has real character. I can only strongly recommend it. Wonderful place for those who love design and architecture and great food. A must see in Avignon.

The location was fantastic and so was the service. They booked a taxi for us and they picked us up at the train station and billed our room and made everything so easy for us. The dinner in the kitchen with the chef was such a treat. Best meal on our trip. We will be back.

Classic “Provence” experience. Generous room facing Palace of the Popes, with provincial fabrics and serviced with care. Lovely, delicious and beautifully choreographed Michelin star dinner in the dining room. Assistance with recommendations, reservations, including a rental car without a drop off fee from the front desk.

I did not love this property- our rooms where heavily draped and dark- felt like I was in an attic - they were definitely very dusty as I am
An asthmatic and had multiple attack’s which rarely happens- but to top it off we woke up with a lizard running around our room and the front desk was the alarmed at all- did nothing. I slept with one eye open the next night- I never write reviews but I spent over 3k for 2 nights-
Also breakfast horrible- total rip off

Fabulous location, facilities, food. We really enjoyed the Chefs table in the basement kitchen. It was a bit disappointing that the ground floor was completely dominated on one of our two days by a crowded external wine-tasting event.

Very historical place to stay. It’s beside the Pope’s castle

This is a very fine hotel with great location and an exceptional staff

A lovely hotel in a quiet, historic location. Our large room was beautifully decorated and had all modern conveniences and was quiet. We had our own sunny terrace where we had lunch. Luxurious bed linens, super mattress and thick towels. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Book a dinner in the hotel restaurant for an awe-inspiring wonderful experience with their chef's 5 or 7 course dinner. As well reserve another dinner at their cooking school where a chef puts the final touches on your meal while you watch. All public areas are elegant but it's not a pompous hotel. Very welcoming. It's expensive but it will be the highlight of your vacation.

French attitude, but overall, it’s a nice cozy hotel. Bring your own tea bags tho. They are the only hotel I stayed at where they don’t give complimentary tea or coffee.

Our agent Festive Tours suggested us this hotel and this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in and just to mention we are frequent travellers and have stayed at world's best hotels.

Outstanding hotel with superb, friendly service and beautiful rooms. Join the table d’haute dinner (chef’s table). Fantastic experience and great value

We did a lot of research before choosing La Mirande and we were very happy we chose to stay there on our recent trip to Avignon. No effort is spared by the staff to make their guests feel welcomed and appreciated. The food was wonderful from breakfast to lunch to dinner at the special Table Haute. Our room was lovely and well appointed with a view of the Palais de Papes. I can’t imagine a better location as home base for exploring Avignon — we walked everywhere.

The hotel is a beautifully renovated and maintained small palace, literally in the shadow of the papal palace. We had a particularly lovely room (26) overlooking a courtyard. The rooms are comfortable, pretty (lots of florals) and up to date. The public rooms, including an enclosed court and a library-style space, are very nice for tea or a drink. The staff is both competent and very nice. All in all, a very well-managed property in a charming city.

Amazing, magical, elegant place

The staff was competent but not overly friendly. Almost felt like we were going into a hotel to look around but did not belong even though we had a room :-(
However, we left behind some things and the hotel was quick to email us and helped make arrangements to send them along to our next hotel. So in the end they were a great help.

The most charming hotel with the most gracious and accommodating staff...everything was perfect in its delightful location. Don't dare miss this place. Our only regret is that due to our schedule, we could not also have dinner there, but when we arrived late in the evening, they prepared plates of meats and cheeses with wine, followed by desert. Absolutely wonderful and we will go out of our way to go back for a longer stay.

Beautiful, historic hotel that has paid attention to every detail of hospitality. Lovely multi lingual staff, housekeeping attentive to guest's preferences and privacy, bell staff knowledgeable and helpful.
