The property os beautiful. The beach is beautiful. The food and service is thrash. Like not even worth eating. The worst good I ever ate. Stale and old food. At least the rooms and the views are great. This hotel is like a cruise on land. The service is also poor. Never felt welcomed and no one looks happy to be there.

Beach bungalow is only way to book this property! Amazing to be able to sit on porch at ocean and walk right onto beach. Caribbean water is great, very clear, snorkeling is good, very enjoyable swimming for all ages. No seaweed!!!
Food needs improvements, buffets and sit down restaurants are average at best. Reservation restaurants were just dressed up buffet selections. Didn’t like the full self-service thing they have going on with buffet, I understand there is a lot of people but I spent more time getting my family drinks, tracking down napkins/utensils than I did eating. At least have tables turned around quickly. Seemed understaffed.
Pools were too small for amount of people here. The set up with resort and it’s VIP/Super VIP was confusing and annoying so we just went anywhere we wanted, I’m fairly certain we sat in VIP area of entire stay. This place is very loud at night and blasts music until midnight at least. Didn’t like that there were no shade options outside of VIP areas on beach, people just huddle up around trees and put their towels on prime chairs to not be there the entire day. No shade at pools either.
English is the least spoken language here, it’s a European resort chain, which took getting used to with questions.
Traveled with spouse, 5yr old and infant. Overall the ocean bungalow room and convenience to everything made up for negatives. Many average/negative reviews for this place are accurate though FWIW. It’s like 7/10 resort that could better.

The checkin was a madness. Coming for a quick vacation from our wedding, they wouldnt accept any Id (driver license from US nor Dominican, fireman dept id, nothing): they wanted the local id (expired due to this year president elections and were all expired) so I had to go back to the city (2h drive) to get my passport just for them to “take a copy”, which i gave them and wouldnt accept.
To reserve a spot for 2 on ANY of the restaurants was impossible: everything was full. Had to eat at the buffet the 3 days even after spending 950us for the stay. The buffet food is incredibly bad. Out of the 10 restautants available, 7 you had to PAY EXTRA 12.5usd to reserve, what a joke of all inclusive resort is this.
The TV was from the f 80s or something (see picture, from jurassic world playing). Im just surprised how disappointing this hotel is. There are much better options in Bayahibe, probably lole Catalonia.
I would not recommend AT ALL this hotel with so many better options that are really all inclusive, unlike this.

This property has the most beautiful beach and pools with plenty of chairs. It is clean and well maintained. They are seriously understaffed with the evening buffet actually not having food out first evening- it was picked clean. We ate at the ala carte restaurants in the evening all other dinners and we were happy. The line for the bar is deep because there is is one person tending bar and four people washing cups. Count on the fact your room won’t be ready- my husband says it part of the experience. Some employees can be really rude - but there are others who really make up for it. We’ve stayed at the property six or seven times over the past decade. We love the beach - it’s the best!

The food was very bad and the waiters did not even pay attention to the spoon they put on the table, they had a lot of attitude towards the customers, there is no hygiene

Check in and check out waited an hour and check out over a half hour. No sense of urgency to have guests check in or out.

I enjoy the beach and the pool, the food was ok. In the front desk Andy gave us an excelente service. My only complain is about the desserts, the taste was no good
1.0 / 5.0
Although the place is beautiful I have various complaint. I tried to cancel the stay 4 days prior to arrival. I was tossed into a game between Expedia and the hotel about refund; even when I showed the hotel the communication everyone was placing the blame on the other.

The resort is wonderful. Only drawback for us was that it does not really cater to English-speaking guests. Would recommend for guests from France, Italy or South America.

I stayed here with my boyfriend and we got the ocean view bungalow room 1112 and it it was amazing right on the beach, so we never had to got get a lounger we had it it all. The room was good but to be honest we don't really care about all the room stuff since we don't spend a lot of time in there anyways so it was a nice room but nothing over the top at all. The only thing I would like is to have a stocked mini bar and more bottle water, we had to keep asking for more waters. The beach is very well maintained and the water was just amazing. You could walk on the beach to the other resorts and check them out if you wanted. The only thing I did not like is that they only allow you to make 2 reservations to the restaurants per stay after that its only the buffet dinning. The food was okay nothing to brag about other then the restaurant called 25 that was just amazing food. the drinks are good and they get better if you tip just a fyi we noticed some more like a lot of people not tipping them, so when we did our drinks were so much better. Also this was not mention when I read the reviews before staying here, brush up on your Spanish, a lot of staff there dose not speak any English. Thankfully I had translation app so it was a little easier but a hassle at the same time. So my boyfriend and I downloaded babble since we do travel a lot and we love the Dominican Republic. So if you are looking for a vacation place I would recommend this place. We are defiantly coming back.

I have been to this property three times. I was married there five years ago and they did a phenomenal job then. When I returned this time they upgraded my room sent my wife and I a bottle of wine and some fruit. Some of the cleaners that clean the rooms decided to put flowers on the bed which my wife really loved. As I said I've been there three times I don't think I need to describe how unbelievable the property and services are there or I wouldn't be there three times. I have been recommending Viva Wyndham dominicus resort to many friends for many years now because I think it is a very large and beautiful resort with many things to do good for kids or adults water sports palm trees Beach Sun food staff everything is top notch and I probably will be going back there again and again. I want to give a special shout out to Freidilina, for making our stay wonderful as well as the manager for upgrading our room, and the cleaning staff.

We and our friends stayed in this hotel in February 2021 and we liked it, so we decided to spend our vacation here this year as well. Not as good as before…
1. Did not get rooms in the same bungalow.
2. Wi-Fi was not working inside the rooms.
3. Our room AC was working only intermittently (4-5 hours a day) for 4 Days.
4. Multiple requests to change rooms were denied.
5. No compensation for non-working AC was provided.
6. Our request to speak with management was denied.

Service was awful, lazy, unhelpful. The room very outdated, bathroom was dirty, no shelfs to put anything in the shower. Food was the same every single day, no variety, otherwise tasty, but you get tired of eating the same food. We went to a paid restaurant, where kids pay half price of the adult. You book through the app and it automatically asignes the people that are registered to the room which are two adults and two kids. They charged us for 4 adults anyway and refused to correct it. My husband refused to argue and just paid it, but the whole thing was ridiculous.

The property is very clean and well maintained. We had a wonderful time! Shout out to Julio for being so awesome to my family 💞 only downer is the food options at the buffet I feel they need to bring in other options as far meats and sides!!

Front desk staff was not very welcoming. He didn’t guide us properly or inform us of anything. My fiancè bracelet broke off but had it on his swimsuit packet and the security person try to kick him out of the property even though my fiancé had showing him the bracelet, explaining to him that it had broken off. Very disappointed!

Overall it’s an average resort. The food at the buffet is alright, warm but not hot. The food at the a la carte restaurant was like 9/10, very good. We came from USA, didn’t really have issues with language. We know minimal Spanish phrases, most staff tried or knew English. The pools are cool, none of the hot tubs worked. The shows are very late. Don’t start till after 10pm. It is extremely loud at night. We stayed in a garden view bungalow. The music is loud and pounding till midnight 1 am ish. And you can hear it clearly in your room. Bring ear plugs! The room was ok, was supposed to have a king bed but didn’t. But we barely spent anytime in the room. The WiFi is really good on the beach and main pool areas/restaurants. WiFi did not work in our room. We always felt safe, and staff was friendly. Avoid the information/concierge area! We literally took the long way walking to avoid them, tried to get us to sit through the 5 hour sales pitch. Then called our room when we didn’t go! The shops are nice, have lots of good souvenirs. The gelato shop is good, it is extra money but it’s cheap. I found all the mixed drinks to be delicious, and had been asked by several bartenders if I wanted the drink strong! We did tip for housekeeping and dinners, but overall not many people were tipping at all. The La Hacienda 7 in 1 park excursion was great. It was so worth it for your money! $100 and you get to ride horses, zip line, safari, drive buggy’s in the forests. The other

Love the relaxing mode of the resort. Looove the hammock area and the restaurants. A few things can improve: service at bars and snack. Maintenance of toilet, pressure water in the shower. Club that sells rooms, too pushy for the guest to buy.

we were upgraded to Palace side. beach & the crystal clear ocean here is incomparable to any other hotels in the vicinity. it's not my first time at this facility & i am always so impressed with the quality & cleanliness of the food here, very healthy options with abundance of vegetables, also amazing dessert section. The staff at Palace side was very good, specially MS Tania at the front desk. we were staying at Beach front room with amazing view but the building was in the process of renovation & the AC was weak. so we were given a fan to support it. Other than that, everything was perfect. just right amount of entertainment, not too noisy all day. Again amazing turquoise ocean, clean beach, fantastic food. this is why I keep going back for years.

The only good thing was the beach.
Accomodations are old, in bad shape and not clean.
The food was terrible.
The worse thing is change of conditions after the arrival.
Not even a fair price.

We loved our oceanview bungalow! It was so nice to walk right out to the beach with shade from the palms. The view from the infinity pools was amazing! The stores are affordable with snacks and all we needed. The Saona excursion was one of the most beautiful beach I have seen! I was not impressed with the food, just okay. The A/C stopped working each day with one of the bungalows so maintenance was working on it each day. Viva has a Hard working staff and we loved our stay!

It was a beautiful property and had lots to do. I had got one of the beach front bungalow and it was nice but the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The staff was very friendly and the food was ok, not all that. Our room door had issues and our bathroom kept having issue to where they had to switch our room. Other wise than that it was a nice stay.
3.0 / 5.0
The rooms need some remodelations (battrooms). Just 2 water bottles per day at rooms.
The staff was attentive but need more people around.
4.0 / 5.0
Pros: nice beach, clean hotel grounds, good staff.
Cons: It took 5 rooms until we received a room that was advertised on pictures.. initially they gave us extremely old room equivalent to 1-2 star hotel. Also all entertainment is in Spanish as well as all staff communication.
2.0 / 5.0
Many of the staff were nice. The dancers and entertainers really make the property experience much better. The room I had was in a good location but a bit outdated. We had no running water at night after dancing at the events and there was construction happening early in the morning every day. Upon arrival, I had a baby crib in my room that I asked to be removed for 2 days. The food was also subpar as they served a lot of the same meals daily. It was a turn off that the resort charged for every little thing, like ice cream and replacement of your wrist band. Overall the resort is very beautiful but I would not be back. I would suggest giving a raise to the entertainers so they are happier.

I love this resort. It was the second time we have stayed here. I love the great beach, the people, the food, and the comfortable courtyard area. The only problem was the long time it took to check out of the property.
4.0 / 5.0
To be fair, the beach and water is fantastic! Our Bungalow on the beach was just a few steps away from the sand and the view was beautiful. However,if you’re going there to enjoy the food, look elsewhere. Sure you can poke around the buffet and find something, fresh fruit and pasta of some kind. If you want serenity, make sure you request a room/bungalow away from the main pool on the Beach side of the resort. LOUD music everyday towards late afternoon and then again night time up until midnight. I’m not a prude but it was over the top. When we first arrived, the ac in our room wasn’t working. We called the front desk to report it. They said they would send maintenance right away. 2 hours later and no one. My husband is a HVAC tech and knew what the issue was so we strolled to the front desk. They looked at us like we were crazy because “apparently “ the maintenance man had been there. We told them we were there the whole time and no one came. We requested a new room if this wasn’t fixed by the time we got back from dinner. NOT FIXED. Went to the front again, now we are patient but this is ridiculous. She radioed the guy and he was outside our bungalow. Hubby helped to fix it. Oh and you also will be hounded to attend a sit down so they can try to sell you a membership. Thousands and thousands of dollars, for 10-30 years locked in.
I love the heat, sun and the beach so hubby, kids and I took the good with the bad. Most likely wouldn’t return. Will try another resort.
3.0 / 5.0
Having a bungalow right on the beach is super nice but the shower drains super slow because you are on sand and the air conditioning is severely lacking so it feels a little like camping but the location is worth it to the water.
The food is honestly the worst I have had at any resort to date and surprisingly the buffet was significantly better than any of the restaurants we tried.
It is also really annoying to have a VIP and SUPER VIP and sister resort only amenities. Just charge one price for everything and call it good.
I was never asked once if I wanted a drink while around the pool or on the beach so you do save in tipping

I’ve been to many all inclusives and this one was very different in many negative ways. Here’s a list of things I wish I had known prior to booking:
1. Not all restaurants are included in your all inclusive package so you have to pay if you go.
2. You’re only allowed 3 dinner reservations in the restaurants per 7 day stay. Otherwise the buffets are your only dinner options.
3. The included alcohol and food is mediocre at best and this is coming from someone who isn’t a picky eater.
4. You have to pay $2/day in order to use the safe in your room.
5. Pools all close at 6:00pm.
6. No swim up bar.
7. There is no service on the beach or pools for drinks and food.
8. Resort is dated and room had small ants all over.
9. Very limited number of umbrellas by the pools so shade is scarce.
10. I was made to feel like a dirty pig by one of the housekeepers because the toilet in the bathroom by the shops didn’t flush when I tried so had to leave it. As I exited the stall, the maid was there and rudely said “we flush toilets here.” I told her it doesn’t flush so she went in there and said it was because of “too much toilet paper.” The kicker is I went back a few days later and tried the flush before using it and it didn’t work again so this is an ongoing problem in that bathroom. It’s completely unacceptable for an employee to make a paying guest feel bad for the resort’s plumbing issues.
Will not be coming back to this resort again. I stayed in Iberostar next door in the
2.0 / 5.0
We arrived late in the evening, desk registrations stuff were very not friendly. We weren’t given tour of the property. Door key was not working and was not locking. For 4 people we got only 2 large towels. Food choices were limited, and tables weren’t cleaned on time for new guests. Access of “all inclusive resort” was very limited to 1/3 of it. Beach is very rocky and unsafe to walk on. Restrooms on the property very dirty and almost always clothed. Not English speaking friendly, communication mainly in Spanish.
