Melissa is the best friend/owner/manager whom we have ever met. The rooms were elegant and the restaurant rivals anything nearby or even France.

Absolutely stunning place. Food was amazing.

No Internet, no Coffee&Tea, so narrow room, and far from the restaurant; too expensive for this hotel.

Property, location and staff are top notch! Our accommodations were a disaster, however, as we reserved the last available room- Swallows Nest- very tiny - an oversized broom closet, but the worst was the bed where the upper half of the mattress sloped down and my spouse and I did not experience a good night’s sleep.

I loved the environment peace !!!!

This place has lots of character and has a beautiful view, very kind staff, a semi private beach and bigtime coziness factor. I do think the room, parking and food was overpriced though. The linens and room cleanliness could have been a bit more hotel-like. Would come back if prices were more reasonable.

Enjoyed being able to arrive, spend an hour just sitting on the beach unwinding, then it was so easy to just go downstairs for an excellent dinner. In the morning having room service breakfast was so lovely! Staff was very friendly, place is remote, which is great if you don't mind being isolated in a resort!

The service was excellent and very friendly. The room was a little rough, door was difficult to open, close and lock, not much room to move around, but fine for a single night's stay. The room was very clean and included wine and goodies. Breakfast was nice, sign of the times, in the room because of Covid. And the spa (massage) was also closed. Be prepared for a curvy drive to Mendincino.

Just a unique property overall. Great, quiet beach, nice views, lovely amenities in room. Charger available for EV cars, but it's not fast. Still, a nice perk.

Absolutely beautiful location, very quiet and serene. The grounds are well-kept and overall the building and rooms are in good shape. We arrived at the property at around 8PM and were asked if we wanted dinner. We had a late lunch so we weren't starving but thought it would be nice to eat since it was getting a little late. We were shown to our seats and immediately given a little appetizer, which we thought was a nice gesture. Within in just a few minutes before I was even finished with this appetizer, the staff came to take it away. It was then the server let us know this was a Prix Fixe meal and asked what entree we wanted. Two more appetizers came one after the other. We couldn't have been there for more that 10 minutes by this point, I couldn't understand why this was such a rushed meal...never experienced anything like this, it was very off putting. Something must have been going on where they were in a hurry. The entree was out within 20 minutes of sitting down. Everything was so rushed and it was a shame because we came to this property to slow down and relax. Then got a bill for $49 ea. Not overpriced since the food was good, but it would have been nice to a) be told this was a Prix Fixe meal and b) the price before sitting down. Was a very strange dining experience.

All ways a lovely stay! Enthusiastic inn keepers, lovely spot and nice rooms!

This is the second we stay at this Inn and i can't thank enough Josh and Amy ( the inn keepers ) for their hospitality and friendliness. Not only this inn location is gorgeous, overseeing the pacific ocean, but the amenities, the generous social with free drinks, the small size and coziness of the main hall makes it for an unforgettable experience - we will be back again soon !

Very nice & friendly service . I stay at the Molly Garden Room for one night only . Room was very clean, welcome half size of white & cookies & evening Sarah to drink as welcome gift . Microwave , mini refrigerator were in the room to use. Everything was perfect except building shows age but well maintain. Ocean view at the dinning was fantastic , complimentary Happy Hour drink, fruits, cheese & crackers were served plus Full breakfast buffet included in the room rate. Although I did not try any of these because I had dinner & breakfast events at another property down the street. But the u all look fresh, delicious to me. I would consider to stay here when I visit Elk again in the future

Friendliest staff entire stay, they went above and beyond in every way! Beautiful accommodations, clean rooms, little extras all around! Wine basket, happy hour, and best breakfast I have ever had at any resort all time! Views are out of this world! This hidden gem was the best part of my entire trip from Vancouver BC, through Washington and Oregon and California!!

We enjoyed our stay. We were disappointed by the fireplace that was advertised in our room: it was just an insert which did not generate any heat. But the view from our room was gorgeous and the room was very clean with a brand new bathroom. The best part was the beach: just down from the hotel is a gorgeous beach, and we took long walks with our dogs every day, thoroughly enjoying it. Breakfast was mediocre.

Beautiful location!! Nice and warm staff. The rooms themselves could be a little more updated, as they are very old-fashioned and felt a little too-worn-in.

Very comfortable with nice welcome gift basket, available cocktails and wine available and nice hot buffet breakfast. Spa needed advanced booking so I wasn’t able to take advantages.

Oh my Lord... I will be returning again and again to this gem. Greeted with hospitality that is second to none. Staff calls you by your first name and leaves a bottle of local wine and homemade cookies on your bed upon check in. Happy hour each night includes complimentary alcohol and snacks. Breakfast in the morning is delicious and exceeded expectations. They even provide you with picnic and beach supplies to take down the the private beach in the backyard. I truly can not say enough about the greatness of this B&B. We are in love!

Its so nice when a hotel owner/operator calls you by name and says 'have a nice day'. Makes one feel right at home. Wonderful prix fixe meal saturday night. Dined looking out over the spectacular vista, and drank some very nice vino with it too. A perfect nights stay in a perfect place. Well worth the price.

North California coastal gem. A beautiful location for those looking to truly escape from the city. Incredible staff, who redefine hospitality, and make you feel cared for in an unpretentious way. The breakfast buffet is amazing, I had to ask for the recipes.

It's a cozy place that has robes and a fireplace ready for you. They have a rotating breakfast each day with different foods, coffee, teas, cocoa, juice, and mimosas. Although I did not go to their complementary cocktail hour hangout, I did take a peek. It's a nice way to relax and, if you so wish, talk with other guests. It's a short walk to the beach with it's gray sand and a several minute drive to the small local market that sells yummy sandwiches if you don't want to go far. Heating is great and the tub we had in the shower was deep. The room we stayed in had a tv, microwave, fridge,and Keurig with teas, cocoa,and coffee with a basket of goodies. Nice getaway for whatever the reason be. They have games in the mansion building if you forgot to bring some of your own.
