Posta Donini is a renovated grand residence that was originally built in the 16th century. The setting is beautiful, but what really makes this place unique is the kindness and availability of the staff. They are incredibly helpful and go out of their way to make sure you have a memorable stay.
For example, I needed a wired internet connection with a static IP address, and the staff did their best to accommodate my request.
I highly recommend the free tour of the grand residence as it gives you many fascinating insights to the long history of the building, which was fascinating.
The breakfast and the food in general are also excellent. There is a wide variety of options to choose from, and everything is made fresh to order. The swimming pool is great. I didn't try the SPA as I was happy enough with the outdoor pool.
Overall, I had a wonderful stay at Posta Donini. It's a truly unique and welcoming hotel, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special place to stay in Umbria.
Last but not least, if you have an EV there is a charger in the immediate vicinity of the hotel parking and a Tesla Supercharger station at a 5 minute drive, which was extremely convenient.
Personally, I will return for sure :)

The hotel grounds and rooms were amazing. Very spacious and up to date. Staff were great and although not located close to any shops, the location was perfect if you are driving and want to see the area. Wifi was spotty would be my only issue and as I was required to work daily, this made it a bit harder. Otherwise, great location and room.

My fifth visit to this nice hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and service throughout. Excellent housekeeping and super quiet effective air conditioning in the rooms. Nice pool and garden with plenty of shade.
Couple of small gripes. Shame there was no lunch service in the garden like in previous years. Hotel bar closed a bit early (but night manager always willing to open it up).

It was a little too far from anything. The property was beautiful though but you definitely need a car.

Check in was ok. Room was ok - however room was warm and itchy at night.
The service was horrendous, tried ordering room service - hung up on 3/4 times. Things turned worse at breakfast when I was constantly sighed and tutted at for pouring an orange juice. I understand covid, but for someone to run over and snatch the bottle, sigh, tut and tell me I’m wrong is unnecessary.

Finally went to check out and was told I hadn’t paid - showed my receipt and hotels.com account proving I had, the guy told me I was wrong and told me ‘it’s ok because my details are on file’, started entering my details into the card machine, then realised he was wrong. Apologetic after that.
Uncomfortable. Rude staff and service was a joke.
Hated everything about this hotel.

My second stay. Had a nice spacious Executive room with good WiFi. Excellent dinner in Pantagruel restaurant and good lunches in the garden. Service was helpful and friendly especially concierge although at times the food and drink staff seemed a little overwhelmed; perhaps due to understaffing?

This Hotel is a beautiful restoration of a old residence (1579). Building additions fit in perfectly and with excellent taste. The staff were great during our stay.

Ringrazio la proprietà per averci mostrato il piano nobile, il mausoleo, gli alberi secolari, la scuderia e raccontato con passione alcune vicende del passato. Non si è trattato solo di un soggiorno ma di un'esperienza senza tempo. consiglio vivamente!

Amazing place to stay! It is the little things that make this place one of a kind: like two suitcase stands in the room. The service felt like they were full time career professionals that felt like they really cared about the place and the hospitality. Dinner and breakfast was amazing! Some of the best meals we had in Italy. Loved the old fashion feel to the place - peaceful to walk about the garden and read about the various plants. Wish we had spent more time in the area to be able to spend more time at this hotel.

A few helpful tip to travellers:
- The hotel doesnt have an iron for customers to use, however they do have a laundry service which you can choose to pay for
- You will need a car if you stay here, taxis are very expensive as they have to travel in from Perugia

We have been fortunate enough to stay in many fabulous hotels, all over the world, but Posta Donini has just gone to being our favourite hotel, anywhere.
The staff are absolutely wonderful - every single one of them took the greatest care of us.
Our room was beautiful, with probably the most comfortable bed, bedding and pillow we have ever experienced (apart from our own bed, of course!).
The food was spectacular, at breakfast, lunch and dinner - fresh and very creative. We were only sorry that we were only staying for one night, and so could not try out more of the dishes offered on the menu.
A real treasure of a hotel, and one to which we’d love to return.
A massive thank you to Giacomo and the whole team, for making our stay so wonderful.

I do not recommend anyone staying in this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are nothing like advertised. Everything was old and was falling apart. Then they tuned the AC off remotely because it’s nice out however, they booked a wedding and blasted the music till 2am, the windows were shaking due to the music being so loud. So we couldn’t open the windows without waking the kids. Definitely not coming back.

The hotel with its beautiful grounds and gardens is just outside Perugia anda great place to escape the hussle and bussle. Also very accessible for day trips elsewhere. Its spa was definitely one of the best I have been to and was a real plus. Super spread at breakfast and we also had two great evening meals at the restaurant. Staff were friendly and very obliging to all enquiries and requests. We will be back.

A luxurious retreat in a quiet location with easy access to Perugia and the hill towns of Umbria. The local bus stop is across the street from the property and is an ideal way to get to Perugia. The hotel is lovely, the landscaping with abundant roses and other plantings is quite beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We had a lovely couple of nights in this impressive hotel. We were in one of the cheapest rooms in the annex and it was perfectly fine. The bed was big and very comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening and that was also a good experience. We ate breakfast beside the pool which was an unexpected bonus. We used taxis to get in and out of Perugia as we were told by the hotel that the buses can take up to 90 minutes. The hotel also organised a taxi to collect us from the airport and that worked smoothly. We would definitely stay again when we plan our next trip to the area.

This is the second time we stayed st the hotel. It is a lovely hotel outside of Perugia, a good location for touring Umbria with a car. We enjoyed using the spa.

Very nice hotel but a bit far from other amenities. too far to reach the city without a car. NO other restaurants In the area without driving so pretty much limited to the on-site restaurant. Breakfast was great and all staff was great.
