Very nice hotel right on the piste, truly ski-in, ski-out. Nice amenities with spa, sauna, swimming pool, bar with outside seating and great view, 2 restaurants, great breakfast. Very attentive staff. We will come back.

Easy access to shops and restaurants, direct access to trail and lifts

This was our second trip to this hotel, which is an indicator of just how fantastic the place is and delivers great service. On arrival they pushed for valet parking, but on review we could have parked for cheaper in the local car park. The hotel is very clean and the room has all the amenities. The only downside was we were given a disabled bathroom and the shower soaked everything - sink, toilet and towels etc, which was a little frustrating. The hotel restaurants were amazing and the food of high class. The boot room meant you could ski straight onto the slopes and keep your equipment in a safe locker - not sure the boot warmers actually worked! There is an additional charge for the hotel staff to get your ski pass, you are better off doing this yourself from the machine. Overall great hotel, highly recommend.

Very good

Great location, clean and comfortable rooms, awesome bar and balcony overlooking the ski slopes but most of all, very friendly staff

Well located ski-in/ski-out hotel, very friendly staff.
3.0
We spent 5 nights at the hotel and my impression was dubious. On one hand the staff was very helpful and ready to assist, on the other hand the room was poorly designed, the mattresses were too hard and breakfast selections were limited.

Staff were excellent from welcome in reception, waiting staff in both restaurants and housekeeping - all first class
3.0
Good points:
- Perfect ski-in/out
- Mountain view from balcony was excellent
- Ski lockers warm and very effective - best ever
- Great staff - very friendly and helpful at the reception, the bar & the restaurant
- Warm welcome and bags taken to room (and skis taken to locker)
- Evening meals were delicious - great chef
- Spa area very impressive with a large pool
- Great WiFi
- Large TV with HMDI socket available
- Nice balcony (but only one outside lounging chair?)
- Blackout curtains really worked - even in direct sunlight - good for afternoon nap
Not so good
- Restaurant was the breakfast room (formica tables in a 4 star hotel restaurant?)
- Breakfast was poor (buffet style, boil your own eggs, watered down coffee, 4 slot toaster shared by 50 people)
- Spa area and changing rooms horribly smelly - shower drains needed cleaning - didn't see anyone fancying a 'relaxing massage' in that stink. Bath drain in our room similarly clogged with a season (or two?) of hair and toe nail clippings etc (see photo)
- €9 for a ginger beer, €6 for Evian water (we drank tap water most evenings
- €6 for what looked like a complementary chew bar on top of mini-bar
- Only BBC1/2 and ITV (+ non-UK channels)
- Small room
- Strange lobby/atrium design reminded us of a Victorian prison
- Weird Escher-esque stairs going up one way, then down the next - so bad that they had to put down knobbles to warn people of stairs in strange places

Well organised but a bit of a walk from the bus station with luggage.

It was at least 15 years since I'd been back to Le Val Thorens. There'd been a lot of changes, the dining room has been updated as have the rooms and public areas, the boot room too. All for the better.
As I said, 15 years since my last visit and I'd not realised how prices had increased. 5.5€ for a beer and 18€ for a whisky !

This hotel is wonderful and I have had an amazing experience there. Staff is always proactive and helpful, taking care of everything one may need, always very kind. The room is great and the views are awesome. The best view of the fireworks during new year’s eve was frm our balcony. Its super well locate, near shops, restaurants and just a very quick snow ride from several lifts. The spa is also amazing. La fondue, one of the restaurants inside is also probably the best meal we had and fairly priced. Breakfast is great, with several options of bread, croissant, cakes, cold cuts, eggs, fruits, etc.. would fefinitely recommend to anyone!

Perfectly positioned hotel for the slopes and all the restaurants. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We like it here very much and come every year. It is possibly starting to look a little tired and I personally find the seats in the bar difficult and uncomfortable to sit on, they need some cushions unless you are very tall.

Difficult to understand why it is a 4 star hotel. The price is like a 5 star in Austria but the hotel would hardly get 3 star in Austria... Breakfast is reasonable but surly not what you would expect from 4 star hotel. The restaurant is rather poor and the service is by seasonal staff that try but are not professional. The room are large and comfortable, the spa is good although hot tab will be nice to have. Public area is rather dull and tired. Price is surly far higher for what we got from the hotel.

Hotel is modern with trendy furnishing in the bar area... Room was a little on small side but bed big and comfortable. All staff were great, helpful, cheerful. We did half board, food was ok, thought would be better; couldn’t fault dessert though! Wine and beer not included so you pay extra if you have that with your meal (thought house wine would be included, but our fault for not reading small print!) They seemed to be short on waiting staff, especially in the fondue restaurant which made our last night there a disappointment.

Good size room, nice bed, but pillows are a big let down. Bathroom could have more lights

Great hotel at Nice location! With great storing and ”heating” of ski equipment, Nice relax area.
Breakfast was Good, the only thing they should improve is the scrambled eggs, for me it was Better to not take any as it could not be real scrambled eggs.

Our 2nd visit, overall we like the hotel- cool vibe, music, helpful staff etc. Very noisy atrium overcome by 2 doors in each room. Overall could do with some further sound-proofing though - noisy wardrobe doors echo between floors makes it difficult to sleep. Like almost all skiing hotels too hot and dry at night, that may be all that’s possible with the altitude and climate. Clean rooms, unobtrusive management and staff who are very helpful. Great position next to slopes and in the centre of town. Relaxed atmosphere.

We thought that VTO would be a great experience and was very wrong—the finer details of a great stay were lacking on every account. Our heaters were turned off in the room daily, our room window was left open so we returned to a cold room after skiing, some days the room wasn’t completely cleaned and dirty towels left, breakfast was cold and we were told there would be a late breakfast available (which there wasn’t!), when we asked to speak to a manager, 5+ managers were sitting listening to our conversation uninterested in helping. There were a few lovely staff members, David & Naila, but apart from those two would never return.

Great location, right in the center and close to everything

Hotel in central location, ski in Ski out in Val Thorens. Ski boot room opens onto Ski school area. Hotel is central for shops and restaurants. Ski hire shop within hotel with 20% discount for residents. Choice of dining in one of two restaurants if half board.
Pleasant pool, spa, sauna and steam room
Staff extremely helpful
Only downside was that bedrooms overlooking the town rather than mountains were noisy at night when students left the pubs/ nightclubs at around 4am:(

This hotel is one of the worst places I've stayed in and poor customer service.
My family and I stayed for three nights at this so called 4 star hotel and paying over the average rate expected a fair quality hotel .
The reception staff were ok but very slow to process anything .
The worst part was the breakfast ,there weren't enough staff to deal with the guests and there was no food / drink left at 8.45 am
My Husband called the duty manager to take a look and she blamed the restaurant staff who actually were working very hard to rectify the situation but there wasn't the food in the kitchen to be able to replenish .
In my opinion this is due to poor management or no management .
Several of the bar staff had a very poor attitude ,I'm not sure if this is due to the fact that we were British ? But we felt very uncomfortable .
The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the chamber staff were very pleasant .
All in all I wouldn't recommend this hotel and would say it's more Like a 2 star but laying 5 star prices

Everything you would need for a great skiing holiday. We even had an upgrade for a view of the piste. Hotel was an interesting design - quirky octagonal shape.

Second time to stay here. Very nice hotel. Could do with some improvement on finer details to truly achieve standard and value expected for 4 star.

I and partner stayed for a week for skiing trip in mid April. Hotel was easy to find. It has got an access straight in/out of the slope with locker room. Hotel staff were very friendly. They helped booking a parking space for our rental car and had valet service to park the car. Hotel location was in the middle of the village, close to everywhere. Breakfast was decent, quite a wide range of choices. The only complain we had was the loud music played on Friday night, from La Fondue, one of their restaurants. Although our room was on the 3rd floor, apparently it was right above the restaurant, the bass was very loud, we could hear it very clearly that we were unable to sleep, while we had to get up 7am the next day to start the journey back home. We phoned at around 11pm and they said the music would end soon. But it kept going and had to phone 2x more before it was finally switched off at 12pm. Half the time, the phone went to answering machine, where it supposed to be 24 hour reception service. Overall great hotel, but was very disappointed with the music situation.

Fifth stay here and after the partially successful renovation a couple of years ago, Le Val Thorens seems to raising its game again. Location is perfect, staff friendly and food very good. Piste view recommended as this brings a smile to every morning.

We enjoyed our stay. Lots of room to store clothes and a nice comfortable bed.
2.0
This hotel does not currently deserve a 4* rating - it is not ready following renovation, many things do not work in the hotel and in your room (e.g. wifi, leaking roof, lights, etc). The staff are also incapable of offering any apologies for the inconvenience. Definitely not worth the price of the room.
