We have stayed in Niagara on the Lake a number of times, but this was our first stay at the Colonel Butler Inn. We were pleasantly surprised and will return on our next theatre jaunt. The front desk was extremely friendly and our room was spacious and clean.

Great start to the trip, as we arrived early and room was ready at 1pm, and reception team let us right in. Room was spotless clean and a good amount of space for the two of us. Lots of cupboards, draws, hangars and our room had a sofa and fridge. Short walk to downtown and the theatres. Decent continental breakfast in the morning. Definitely book here again.

My mother and I stayed for two nights over May Long Weekend. They are very strict about their 3pm check-in time so an early check-in is not an option. The rooms are clean and the bathroom seemed recently upgraded. We were on the first floor so were concerned about noise but it was so quiet. Breakfast was just enough and the woman who works in the morning to oversee breakfast was great. Coffee was delicious. They have hot quiches and a waffle maker. Regular fare like fruit, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, bagels, and toast. This hotel has great value and we would stay again.

The room was nice and comfortable. My daughter said the pull out was ok and wouldn’t want to sleep on it for a week. The breakfast was very good. Surprised that they bother with the tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Would be so much better for environment if they used on the wall refillable containers. We liked where it is located away from the hustle and bustle of the town but close by to everything. If you’re a walker you can walk to town which we liked doing. Would definitely stay there again.

The lovely woman who runs the breakfast room makes the breakfast experience a healthy, nutritious and delicious start to the day. She was busy keeping the room welcoming, fresh and clean. She was the highlight for me. And thank you to the young man who helped my friend, a senior, by carrying her suitcase upstairs.

The food was perfect-breakfast was included and waffles and bagels and juice hot delicious coffee fresh fruit-Yahoo! Comfy bed and walking access to downtown.Staff at bar and breakfast room and cleaning person were so very helpful and personable! Jessica at the front desk turned an awkward frustrating start to a day into a dandy start to a day with a smile and a kind gesture.

I have stayed at Colonel Butler several times and have never been disappointed. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. Keep up the good work. I highly recommend this little gem of a hotel when visiting Niagara on the Lake!
