Fridge, shower, sockets all not working

It smelled cigarette (very very badly) in our room, it did not look dirty but not clean either. Towels were torn appart. It took 20 minutes to get hot water from the tap. Wifi doesn’t work well and crahes all the time. The breakfasts however were worth it and the room was quiet.

I stayed 2 nights on business. All the staff were super helpful, very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable but could perhaps do with some upgrading. It would have been good if the hotel sold cold drinks as I had to go out after finishing work at c 21:00 and Villeurbanne did not feel terribly safe.

The hotel is located in nice region. The metro is just 5 min by walking gratt ciel station. However, the net is bad and slow. The room is clod. I think the condionnig system should be added in the rooms.

Reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. Please note that parking is height restricted - only 185 max. I was able to park outside the hotel but this is not protocol. Room itself was ok - nothing amazing so I am not sure what a normal room was like as mine was meant to be superior! Couldnt seem to control the heating in the room. All in all not a bad hotel and I would stay there again if I was in the area.

The hotel was handy for the metro for getting about and reasonably priced given the Festival of Lights being on the same weekend we were there. Staff were friendly & helpful. The room was clean but could have done with an easier to open window or air conditioning as the room was very warm. Great spot to stay when in town for the rugby, would recommend it as a place to stay.

The hotel looks tired and rooms arent very comfortable. On the plus side, breakfast was quite nice.

Room was clean but very basic. Beds were comfortable. The toilet and bathroom were separate rooms, with no sink/wash basin in the toilet. After using the toilet which was in a tiny room right in the entrance, one has to go through the room to get to the bathroom just to wash ones hands - a bit unhygienic! There was no shower curtain around the bath tub and the shower hose was not fixed, so was a bit tricky having a shower without water spraying out everywhere. Also, while there was free wifi available, it got disconnected every time the device is switched off or when you go off the premises, so was tiring having to log in several times.

Excellent value for money, reading previous reviews meant my expectation was not high. However I was pleasantly surprised, friendly welcome and a reasonably sized room with flat screen and comfortable twin beds. Only negative was a hand held shower but bathroom well sized. Not a plush hotel but perfectly clean and comfortable.

The only bad thing I could say about this hotel is that the bathtub had no shower curtain or glass door, so it was tough to shower in. Other than that, the room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and there is free wifi. It is a bit of a walk from the train station, Gare Part Dieu, maybe 20-30 minutes. The hamburger place next door has good fast food. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, so we can't review it.

We stayed for 2 nights and found the hotel was great for our needs - the rooms were quiet and had air conditioning (although you cannot control it i.e. reception turns it on / off) and parking was provided in the basement for a surcharge. It is close to a supermarket/bakery and a number of cheap cafes for lunch and the metro is a couple of minutes walk to take you in to the old town and main centre. Would definitely recommend.

Staff was very nice. A little expensive compared to the standard. This hotel needs renovation and sound proofing. But ok for just spending the nights and close to a metro station.

Hotel Ariana is a pleasant enough hotel. The staff were pretty friendly. No kettle in the room which for an English couple was tough as no cup of tea in the morning. We had no intention of paying for the expensive breakfast but I think that's the case with most hotels.
Be prepared for a lodging tax, not too expensive but just another added cost.

I consider myself a fairly seasoned traveller, and I found this hotel jus unacceptable. The neighborhood was just depressing. The rooms definitely could have been cleaner, and somehow the so-called air conditioning made the room twice as warm as it was outside. I cancelled the remainder of my reservation and finished my stay at a much better hotel.

Very comfortable with ensuite bathrooms. Nothing fancy but clean and a great location. Difficult parking under ground but not a bad price and the car is off the city streets.
