Wow. Absolutely amazing hotel. Incredible service and so many extra touches. Complimentary welcome basket, little buts if food served with wine, pie and ice cream with hot cocoa, croissants and coffee in the morning and nachos and mexican beer at noon. Such a beautiful room with a fireplace and jet tub. Had a nice night. Very romantic room.

Wow so glad we happened upon this place when our regular spot as Pismo was full. Avila is a hidden hen that we and most people seem to miss, and the Avila La Fonda is a charming boutique hotel that made the stay here magical. A lovely and unique atmosphere, spa tub rooms, complimentary snack baskets, free wine hour, and pie and icecream hours in the lobby. They really work hard to make you feel comfortable and special. We expect to be returning guests for a long time. Love this place

This hotel blows the rest of hotels in Avila Beach away! I would NOT recomend with familys with kids and babies. The service is amazing and the breakfast fresh croissants and coffee or OJ is 👌! Lunch is chips and salsa with beer 🍺 and dinner is charcuterie with wine. Beach is 1 minute away foot along with shops and restaurants.

Avila La Fonda Hotel is a wonderful hotel experience. The rooms are decorated with artful taste. Beds are very comfortable. Staff is amazingly attentive. Coupled with wine/appetizer reception, pie/ice cream before bed, morning coffee and croissants, and mid day salsa and chips and a welcome snack basket. The location is perfect. One block from the beach. We had a lovely balcony room to enjoy coffee and tea in the morning watching the adorable community of Avila come alive. We stayed one night, but went back a day later to enjoy this delightful experience again. We will definitely go back again.

Such a lovely and charming stay! This was a beautiful hotel with friendly staff that go out of their way to provide comfort. The room was large, homey and comfortable with a small balcony. They also had welcome cookies and treats, complimentary morning croissants and tea/coffee, afternoon salsa and chips, a wine and appetizers hour, and finally pie at the end of the night! It was all delicious. Would recommend this hotel every time and can't wait to go back again. Parking was also free and convenient (overnight street parking and an underground parking garage).

I was suprised at the special little things, like I didn't expect a kitchen, fireplace, and a jacuzzi tub! I guess I should examine things a little better when i make resevations next time. Also, free wine reception each evening and beer at lunch! Never seen that before, and what a brilliant idea that makes it even more special. Had a great time. Heard a little noise of people above me walking around a lot, but I would tolerate it again for sure. Its not that often that happens.

This is an outstanding hotel which I highly recommend. The staff is excellent provide excellent customer service. They are warm, welcoming and very helpful. They offer you lovely small breakfast, salsa & chips, Happy Hour and delicious pie in the evening. The rooms are large with a whirlpool tub. It’s the perfect romantic getaway destination!

The hotel was nice and quiet. Easy walking to the beach. However the WiFi wasn’t great and my shower never really got hot. The whirlpool tub didn’t work either. Kinda frustrating

Waking up to the fantastic smell of their super butter croissants baking is a great way to start the day. But it doesn't stop there. They offer guests an afternoon snack of chips and cheese, Late afternoon wine and hors d' oeuvres, and an evening dessert of pie and ice cream. The La Fonda has to be one of the greatest small hotels anywhere along the California coast.

This is 2nd time staying for a week. Love the atmosphere and all the goodies they provide. Only draw back was crusty stuff on outside of shower, that should have been cleaned. Kinda gross room 207. But besides that everything was great. We will definitely spend another week there soon. PS the authentic Mexican tile they gave us as we left was so special.

The room we had at $400/ night did not have A/c except this portable extremely noisy unit that we could not keep on at night. The air was so hot and still, we could not sleep. To Tamie things worse, there was a leak in the bath tub, the faucet leaked all night, drop by drop making this unbearable regular noise that prevented us from sleeping. At 5am, our room, right above the kitchen started smelling food so strongly, we felt sick with it. It was the worst experience ever for a $400 room a night. Stay away from this place!
