I was recommended to this hotel by a local company I was visiting from the UK on business. The photographs don't look very appealing but on arrival I was very pleasantly suprised. A lovely quiet location but perhaps more suited to someone with a hire car as the location is rather remote from the centre of town (about 2.5mls) although there is excellent public transport available. Excellent furnishing/appointments and lovely well-equipped rooms but beware no lifts and there is no in-house restaurant for dining opportunities other than breakfast (which was also excellent). However, there is a local restaurant within 200m! Very highly recommended if you are visiting this area of Germany.

For a one night stop whilst travelling through it was perfect

We had a very minor matter to be corrected when reaching our room, but this was courteously and instantly dealt with. Very warmly welcomed on arrival. Car parking was easy, registration and check in was effortless. We had a room upgrade to be sited much closer to the hotel reception, and on the 1st floor, which was kind. The room is top class. Very well appointed. Fabulous shower. Still water bottles provided in the room. Comfortable beds. Very quiet, and little or no sound from the nearby road. We like it very much.

Very comfortable nights sleep, which we badly needed after extremely long drive. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Staff were wonderfully accommodating.

We all enjoyed this hotel. We traveled mid-December, and the lobby and seating areas were beautifully decorated. The receptionist Hendrik was great; very service-minded, friendly and, upon inquiry, also recommended to us a fabulous restaurant nearby (Alssos) that we all loved. Cleanliness was generally good; there were some dust strands/cobwebs behind the radiators, but all the surfaces, bedding and the bathroom were well cleaned. Our room (two persons) was also huge. Only downside was the beds; they were quite hard. Also, just as an FYI, the coffee and tea are only free on weekend mornings. The machine is available 24/7, but drinks cost €1.50. Not a big issue, but good to know. We did not purchase the add-on breakfast buffet, so I can't comment on that. We all agreed that Ghotel is worth returning to.

Wifi was good but sometimes was hard to connect to. Very spacious hotel and we were able to find a bakery for breakfast within walking distance from the hotel. Neighborhood was quiet.

Booked this last minute. Rooms with twin beds and rooms with a queen bed were available, the twin room was considerably cheaper. We are a couple so I opted for a queen room, only to discover they gave us a room with two twin beds pushed together! On top of that, the duvets they gave us were two children's twin duvets. There was a fitted sheet on the bed but NO flat sheets at all! I haven't slept with a kid's duvet since I was a child! So with no sheet, we were both constantly turning over and our bodies being exposed from the tiny duvets, therefore we barely slept the whole night. Before we went to bed I had asked for a queen duvet, a flat sheet of ANY kind, even a blanket and the lady on duty said she didn't have ANY! TOTAL SCAM! Clearly they didn't have a queen room and tried to pass us off with a twin room!

It was a very good enjoyable visit. No restaurants etc., in the area and in the evening the G-hotel barcan only give you a limited dinner (types of pizza etc). Accessible by auto-bus. Close to the University

Good and convenient to ferry, pity no Tea/coffee making fasciitis otherwise would have been a perfect hotel

It is near to the university, 25 min by walking. But if you take a bus, it will goes a long tour to city center and cost for 45 mins.

GHOTEL Kiel is easy to find on a main road outside the centre of Kiel and has plenty of parking. Staff are friendly and helpful, and speak English as well as German. The rooms and public spaces are somewhat stark but relieved by colourful paintings on the walls. There's an excellent breakfast buffet in a dining room with picture windows overlooking the garden, and a good mid-range restaurant three minutes' walk away behind the hotel (Am Posthorn). The hotel is ideal for a quick business visit; holidaymakers and families could probably find somewhere more attractive nearer the centre of town. Beware of their cancellation policy which returns only 10% of what you've paid.

Nice town, nice hotel. Only a little noise from the street, but is on a quiet side of town. Beds were nice, bathrooms were clean. Overall a good bargain.

My son and I went to Germany for the first time. We really enjoyed our visit there and was very impressed with GHotel in Kiel. Germany has fantastic opportunities for cyclists and Ghotel had access to many adult and children bikes. We hired two bikes at 6 Euros each for a day and had a great time getting around. I felt very safe on the bike and the cycle lanes are brilliant. Language barrier wasn't a problem as the staff spoke very good English. I think they appreciated my attempt at speaking in German from time to time. I would definitely recommend GHotel Kiel as a brilliant place to stay and at a good price as well. We had breakfast at the Hotel which was of a very good standard and filled us up for the day.

Was in Kiel for a conference at the university so location was good but it most definitely is not close to anything else. There was no air conditioning but otherwise the room was fine. Weather cooled off by late evening so no disaster. Breakfast buffet was very good indeed. they have no restaurant but "snack"menu will get yu through. Nice area for drinks inside and out. Staff was super. The only significant downside was the "internet room". I needed to print some things before the conference started and the computers there couldn't even open a current word document much less a powerpoint.

Stayed for two nights for business. The room was very well appointed; not huge but not that small relative to other hotels in Europe. My particular room looked like it had been recently renovated with new carpeting and a flat screen TV. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is not close to many restaurants but you can get to downtown Kiel in about 10 minutes by car or cab--not sure about public transportation.
