Booked a specific room, literally 2 hrs before we got there and when we got there they said it wasn’t available. Still got charged for the more expensive room.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Tacoma South Lakewood, an IHG Hotel property, and had an overall pleasant experience. Here are some highlights and areas for improvement: Pros: ---- Daily Room Service: The daily room service was excellent, far exceeding my experiences at other Holiday Inns. It made our stay much more comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast: The breakfast options were good, and my kids particularly enjoyed exploring the different choices available. Parking and Location: The parking was great, and the location is convenient for anyone visiting Seattle and Mount Rainier National Park. The property is in a safe, nice, and quiet place. Nearby Amenities: There is a mall nearby, and within a 5 to 7-minute ride, there are many food options and a movie theater, which is great for entertainment. Staff: The staff was friendly and accommodating. Abdul, in particular, was very nice and helpful. Cons: -- IHG Points: Unfortunately, our stay did not earn any IHG points because we booked through Expedia. As regular customers who have stayed exclusively at Holiday Inn for our last three trips, this was disappointing. It would be beneficial for IHG to consider awarding some points to customers who book through third-party sites, especially those who are frequent guests. Overall, while there were some minor inconveniences, our stay was quite pleasant, and we look forward to returning. I would love to visit this property again in the future if needed. Overall: 4 of 5

Breakfast was good!!

I was just passing by in Lakewood and only stayed a night. The room I stayed in was comfortable, spacious and clean. The staff were warm and welcoming. Wifi worked well. From a location standpoint, the hotel is a 5-minute walk away from the local train station, which also serves as a park and bus exchange. There are a few restaurants nearby to order food, but there's not much else close by without needing to drive. Breakfast was done very well - the variety was standard but I think the way the food was prepared was above average. I checked out the pool and the weird thing was that to access the fitness facility (which was just a touch above basic), you had to go through the pool. Otherwise, I had a pleasant stay at this property. If I'm passing through Lakewood again, I would certainly consider staying here.

My whole issue was check in i was there checking in for more then 1hr with toddlers in a car waiting if ur a parents you know how that goes Hotel said hotel.com didn't make my reservation even though i had a email with the confirmation number they made me call hotels.com to try and figure out the issue which i did and they said they fixed it but once againg Robert in the reception area said the card for payment hotels.com provided did not work and made me call back again he had a annoyed look while having to deal with my whole situation which i think if Holiday inn and Hotels.com are affiliated maybe they should have better communication on taking care of these issues i have to say this is the 1st time i have ever had this problem which i mentioned to Robert and he said it had happened to them with another customer back to what i said maybe u guys need to get to Hotels.com and figure out whats going on instead of having the customer calling back and forth for more then a hr in the lobby i didn't get the room i had paid for and when asked for a crib they told me they could not provide me one because only house keeping does that also 1st time ive ever been told this in no way did Robert at hotel lobby try to accommodate us or make it easier for my family to get in there not sure what the hotels policy is but some customer courtesy or being a bit helpful would of been nice instead of just looking annoyed to have to deal with me..

Staff was extremely friendly. Room was super clean. Breakfast was excellent. Was up for my sons basketball tournament in Auburn. This hotel is onky 20 minutes from the Fieldhouse where it was held. Highly recommend staying here.

Robert found a pair of shoes I had accidentally left the last time we stayed and had them for me when we got in. He is awesome!

Almost everything was great. The front desk person, Abdul, was very nice upon check in. The room was very nice. The only issues I had were the bathroom. The overhead fan was very noisy, I could hear it clearly while showering. Also, the shower had a high-pitched whine when the hot water was running.

It was a very nice hotel. Very clean, from the parking, looby, room, even the stairs, quiet, to think it's beside the freeway and staffs are all very friendly. I havent been to a hotel where you can text them if you need anything. They answer very quickly. It's much easier than calling the front desk for me. I lived in Tacoma area for 20 years and I didn't know that there's holiday inn in that area. I'm so glad to find this hotel. All in all, 10 stars. Will definitely stay again if I will be back in the area. Highly recommended.

I booked this hotel and it said I was only going to be charged $179.95 but they charged me 279.79 they charged me $100 more. They were not upfront with me.

This property is super clean and affordable. Staff was ffriendly. Parking lot is ample with security. It sits conveniently off the freeway so you will hear some road noise, but not nearly as bad as some other reviews stated. I was very satisfied with my one day stay.

I loved my stay!!! Not one complaint and breakfast was amazing, so many choices and it was so good...coffee was fresh and hot every morning... the pool was great... and the room was perfect. If I'm ever back in Seattle I will definitely stay there again.
