Our original room ended up having some water issues due to flooding in the room above us so they were quick to answer our call when we found the water leak in the bathroom and switched us to another room, the manager was very kind, friendly and left us a bottle of wine and snacks for the kids in our new room, we were very happy with their service. The breakfast was also great, good and plenty of food and very clean.

All in all, this is a decent hotel. The breakfast included in the price of the room is excellent. The staff was very professional, ready to assist and otherwise extremely accommodating. The room, while in excellent condition, could use a lounge chair in which to sit, a luggage rack on which to place a suit case and more electrical outlets .

We were given an accessibility room. Lighting was extremely poor. Not sure how a person with disabilities would be able to use the room at all

Had a fine stay here, free breakfast was quite nice, on Cowgate street which felt a little isolated and nightclub-ish for a family stay.

The Holiday Inn Express is located as a perfect jumping off point for touring. Food and bar options were perfect in meeting dining needs when not eating out. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff couldn’t do too much for you, very helpful!

The staff was very nice and genuinely seemed interested in making our stay as pleasant as possible.
I forgot something at the hotel and they went out of their way to arrange for it to be returned to me. I was really impressed with that!

Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms. Breakfast was lovely. Only thing i could fault was the OJ at breakfast was so watered down that my 7 year old had to ask what it was. Other than that little thing, i would highly recommended this hotel.

Very nice and quiet hotel, about 5 mins walk from the main tourist area of old Edinburgh. Staff are very helpful. Breakfast has a wide choice. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but could do with more lights.

The room is tiny, the bed sheets and towels are worn and stained and the mattress was mushy and was a canoe.
The staff are great and the property is located in a great location, right off the Royal Mile.

Bathroom was very cramped - open the door and fingers got wedged in between the door and shower stall
Shower step had a sharp edge - but the shower itself was good
Pillows were rock hard
Area outside was not well lit
Staff was very pleasant - the best part of the hotel

The hotel is nice n clean, the receptionist Priya was very helpful and friendly the only thing I wanted to add is the hotel need more lights like a desk top or a felling lights but other wise our stay was comfortable. I will recommend this hotel.

Thehotel was in a fabulous location - very convenient walk to all the major sites - also felt very safe. They were very willing to store luggage on both early arrival and late departure. Only issue was cleaning staff - 1 day they forgot to leave toilet paper, 1 day they didn't leave a shower floor mat. Other than that, very good. It was also excellent that breakfast was included - with quite a lot of variety.

Liked location. Could improve on lighting in the room, more hooks to hang things in the bathroom and bedroom, luggage racks, and change the breakfast menu a little bit from day to day.

The property was close to the university, which was essential for us, but it was also close to a lot of shopping and as well as the castle. The windows opened, so it was easy to get fresh air, but they were also very soundproof, which was amazing. I had a small issue in my room, and it was taken care of right away. The breakfast good as well. I definitely recommend staying here.
