Service was good . Property was clean . However it was totally over sold on the web and totally overpriced for its quality - the property is 3 star in my view .

Location, staff, food and a quiet place to unwind after a whirlwind vacation in three countries. We lived the swimming pool too!

the hotel grounds and views were breathtaking and gorgeous, the room was beautiful and comfortable, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the amenities were superb. The pools and spa area are top notch. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, in fact we left our day sightseeing in Nice early just to get back to the hotel because it was so lovely. a car is required for this hotel, but Vence is a 15 minute walk away if you want to make the trek on foot.

We were there when my husband was having eye surgery. The staff was extremely helpful, kind and compassionate. We loved the property, the service, the food and felt grateful for the staff’s kindness. Looking forward to going back.

This was such a lovely hotel with a beautiful SPA, amazing view from the outside heated jacuzzi which we enjoyed very much, inside heated swimming pool was also lovely and clean too, friendly and helpful staff, a close walk to the old town of Vence. Absolutely lovely hotel and beautiful quiet property. We loved our Easter holiday here so much that when after 3 days here we moved to Cannes to another 5-star hotel we were still missing Cantermerle.

Just spent 2 nights but would like to have spent much longer! Beautiful spot so close to Vence and away from the crowds in Nice. Lovely gardens and enjoyed the pools. A little spoilt by a noisy young family, in fact it would be best not to allow children under 12 as the place is really geared for maximum relaxation. We ate breakfast which was very good with a lot of choice and we enjoyed a lunch. I would definitely stay here again if ever I wanted to visit the Nice area.

Stayed at hotel as part of a short family break to Vence. Had all the facilities needed for us to chill out and staff were really helpful and friendly. Also a good base from which to explore the surrounding area when we were able to drag ourselves away from the pool/ sunloungers!

Lovely hotel, tranquil garden and pools, very welcoming and helpful staff, good restaurant and well judged wine list. Good value too. Our second visit and we will go again.

Rustic cool feel, and the host was very helpful!

The cantermerle is a hotel in full greenery. The place is very quiet, restful. The pool with its sunbeds is very nice. The rooms are spacious and the staff is really nice and very helpful. Vence is a small town between Cannes and Nice. A few beautiful villages in the vicinity and some small restaurants to discover in the city center. The breakfast is a bit pricey, but plentiful and served in an idyllic setting. The friendliness of the staff is also undoubtedly a real asset for this place. A car will be necessary.

Absolutely lovel hotel in a very quiet location just outside Vence. Staff are the friendliest and most efficient I have ever met. Ideal for couples seeking a quiet few days alone. 10 minute walk into medieval Vence where there are lots of restaurants. Hotel restaurant and breakfast are also great. Kettle in the room but take your own favourite tea bags. Will definitely be going back.

The spa is quite nice with a lap pool and steam room. Although the 'gym' is limited to 3 cardio machines. Grounds are immaculate. We made use of the boules court which was fun. Food is expensive. We did not have breakfast due to the price, and the options looked limited. Reception was often busy, and we had to wait on several occasions for staff to return or come off the phone. They could do with an extra staff member. One thing that would improve the hotel is to either make it adults only, or to restrict children's use of the spa area, as we arrived to find 2 boys repeatedly 'cannonballing' into the pool. There is limited facilities for children, so I wouldn't recommend for families.

The hotel is totally focused on the restaurant, therefore getting attention from staff for a drink at poolside seating is difficult. The "Bar" they refer to is the waiters station with all the wine buckets rowed up, high chairs, pile of menus etc - stood for a least 5 mins before the 3 staff behind asked me if could help; you can't get to the bar to stand at so I just stood in middle of room whilst staff went to-fro. Rooms nice, spacious with good bathroom. Gym is very disappointing- 3 items of equipment in a small room does not make a fitness centre!

Relaxing and pleasant small hotel in an relatively isolated location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel as a base to explore around the Cote D'Azur. You need a car for this hotel; it is about 13 minutes walk to the local town of Vence and public transport seems very limited in general. The hotel restaurant is pretty good and had live music one night. It seemed to be busy most nights - not just with hotel guests. For some reason breakfast was a real disappointment. It is not up to the standard you would expect for price being charged. The pools, gym etc were clean but small due to the overall size of the hotel but they were not crowded. There were plenty of sun loungers and ample towels available. Overall we had a very pleasent stay.

It was a fantastic hotel, but I wish they had been up front about the price of the buffet. £57euros each! Perhaps we should have asked? If I'm being critical, the only other issue was having a bed so close to the door. Otherwise, Helpful staff and very clean.

This hotel was absolutely lovely. The pool and garden were beautiful and the rooms were very spacious. The hotel staff were so nice and accommodating. The city of vence is a 10 min walk and is great place to walk around and have a meal. It is also centrally located and we had a car so we were able to do a bunch of half day excursions and nothing was more than an hour away - we went to Monaco, sanremo (Italy) and Cannes. Close to the airport as well. Tips: if you are driving, make sure you have coins for the tolls. And bring/buy mosquito repellant - I got a few bites one night but it was quite humid. Overall I would 100% recommend this hotel and I would stay there again. Great value for your money.

We were very happy with our choice to stay at Hotel Cantemerle in July 2015. The pool and grounds of the hotel were very nice and relaxing - the whole vibe was very laid back and not a bit snotty. We only stayed for 2 nights, and ate at the hotel's restaurant the first night which was very good. Although they did not have an English menu, the server was able to translate each item for us as needed. It was clear that everyone who worked there wanted us to enjoy our stay and was happy to help with directions and advice on restaurants, etc. A very good bang for your buck!

This was a lovely setting away from the busy world, and just close enough to Vence to be able to walk into for lunch and dinner etc. A great choice of restaurants in Vence. The staff at Cantemerle were very friendly and helpful. it wasn't too busy, and was very quiet despite being a child friendly hotel. The only disappointments were that for a 'spa' this place did not have a Sauna or a Jacuzzi. This was possibly my fault as I had been looking at many different hotels, and assumed this one would have them, calling themselves a spa! Also the breakfast was very expensive, and no other option, other than a 15 min walk up the road to Vence! You were not allowed to take your own food and drink in the room, and there were no Tea or Coffee facilities. Half a bottle of champagne was 38 euros from the mini bar!

we wish we could have stayed longer to use the hoyel's amenities like the indoor and outdoor pools. Our room was big, clean. The bathroom had a beautiful tiled floor and was huge. Each room is a ground floor (no noisy neighbors upstairs) and has a private balcony. The staff was very professional and friendly. the only con : 16€ for the breakfast is overpriced given what is offered (we ordered room service). The hotel is a little outside of Vence downtown which makes its location very quiet like we love. if we come back in the neighborhood we will stay there again !

We had a charming double room with a balcony. The bathroom was spacious with nice fixtures and a great shower. The hotel is small and has a garden like atmosphere. The outdoor pool is unheated and there is a small indoor pool...warmer but not really warm. They had a nice hamam with a menthol aroma which was very enjoyable. The gym was disappointing. Of course, maybe I am the only one who goes to the gym on a weekend away. The Staff here is excellent, very attentive and tuned in. The hotel is walking distance to the old city of Vence. It is a drive to St. Paul-de-Vence. I would definitely stay here again. It is not the George V but neither is the price. You can park for free if you have a car. Internet is also free ( a must for me, since I hate to be nickeled and dimed with hidden costs) but you have to use a different pass codes if you have more than one device. Good value for the money. The restaurant had some hits and misses but overall good. Once again, the staff made for an overall enjoyable evening.
