Had a 4 night stay at La Fonda, spent most of my time on the upper terrace relaxing on either a sunbed or chair. The terrace has been very nicely designed with lots of greenery and laid out allowing you to have privacy. Lovely views of the ocean. My room was very nice and comfortable with everything that I needed, particularly the tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was very nice, plenty of choice and the option of ordering eggs cooked to your choice. Only downside was that the hot offering wasn't as hot as I like it, that said their was a microwave available. Would I stay there again, absolutely

We stayed for 3 weeks. The receptionists allways seemed like they didnt want any guests. Never smiling or being helpful. The cleaning staff were very friendly, and the rooms are very clean. The kitchen staff are very nice, and friendly. The food is good, but allways the same. This Hotel is the most noisy hotel we ever visited. Our room was in the top, so we could hear people slamming their doors, listening to music or talking extremely loud, several times each night. We never slept more than 2 hours in a row. The Hotel, as a building, is very clean, and well maintained.

we booked an overnight stay at the last minute at 10pm on the same day as we were supposed to use the room at 11pm and we got the best service, when we arrived. this made us choose to book one more night the next day

we booked two rooms side by side. one room was infested with bedbugs and the associated foul smell. we were not relocated to a clean room.

The hotel can only be discribed as different and interesting in its layout plus the views from the terrace and restaurant are a joy

Amazing Hotel. Such polite staff.

I’ve stayed 3 times, and unfortunately it has gone down hill. Service was poor and facilities seem a little dilapidated. Would love to stay again but things need to improve.

We loved La Fonda, a lovely boutique hotel and especially that it’s in the beautiful and peaceful Benalmadena Pueblo. It’s a 10 minute/€15 taxi to the Marina and Benalmadena centre. My ‘but’ is, on Hotels.con it says it’s close to the beach but it definitely isn’t! We ate in beautiful restaurants close by, Le Cepa and La Fuenta and highly recommend both, then a 2 minute stroll back to the hotel. Lovely bars nearby too. Highly recommend

Lovely boutique style hotel in excellent location away from the tourist hustle and bustle on the coast but with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Excellent breakfast and highly recommend freshly made omelettes. No hesitation in recommending.

Good hotel but hard for taxis to find and difficult to drive up to. Google maps does not seem to direct you there. Facilities in the hotel are good but the lobby is not air conditioned nor is the restaurant and breakfast area.

What a quaint and perfect little spot! Location was better than expected with the heart of the little old town square and famous la nina fountain literally steps away from the front door. Small boutique not a big chain and the staff was excellent esp Roman who was so friendly and helpful with assisting me in planning outings, booking taxi's, calling my next hotel to let them know to expect our late arrival. We left very early for a tour one morning and would not have made breakfast so the evening prior Roman made arrangements for the kitchen to prepare for us a lovely vegetarian picnic and had it placed in our mini fridge. Such an incredibly thoughtful and appreciated gesture. The hotel itself is lovely and the little thermal spa downstairs was a nice retreat but the pool and solarium were equally pleasant and the views from solarium were superb. Highly recommend and would stay here again if/when we return to the area.

The entrance and overall general appearance of the hotel is special - kind of like a boutique hotel with authentic history - and every member of staff that I spoke with was friendly, personable, enthusiastic and professional. However, the room, which was styled in what I imagine to be an attempt at shabby chic only managed to get the first 1/2 of that description correct. Although the very high ceiling gave it an airy feel (and the room itself was spacious) it was rundown and seemed uncared for. Just some of the problems were: Rusting metal in the bathroom; hair in the sink; a foot-pedal bin whose lids had broken off; a light fitting on the wall that was loose; flies, mosquitos and ants (I went out and bought bug spray); and what must have been the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on (it felt like it was just a box-spring but without the mattress!). The air-conditioner made so much noise I had to keep it turned off, meaning the room was too hot. These are not staff issues; these things tell me that housekeeping/maintenance managers are not paying attention. There simply cannot be that much wrong with one room to suggest otherwise. The room itself (room 106) does not benefit from being located well (admittedly, nothing can really be done about its physical location!), but for future guests, it is worth knowing that it is immediately opposite the elevators and its window looks onto the courtyard pool so the amount of ambient noise was intrusive.

Ideal for a short break peaceful . Although there is a lift there are lots of steps . Nice restaurant bright and sunny good choice to suit all for breakfast staff pleasant

Beautiful hotel in superb location in middle of the Pueblo. Our room was very big with great furnishings. Only downside it was on Floor 4 and lift only went to Floor 2.

Th location in the old town was excelent.

They were all very helpful and able to assist with luggage. Very pleased.

Fantastic hotel

Great location in the Pueblo with nice views from the rooftop terrace. Nice little spa you can pay extra to use. The staff is friendly. Our room was really dark and didn’t smell nice. The bed was really small for a double bed. The interior design was tacky. There where other rooms that looked much nicer. Breakfast was also boring. This is not a 4 star hotel. Too bad. It has every possibility to be.
