We were there for one night and acknowledge the limitations of my experience. It was a fine hotel. The staff was friendly enough, the breakfast buffet had a lot of options, and the property was scenic. The room felt small and dark and left something to be desired. We did have a great Bavarian meal in Grainau, which was a highlight of the trip. If I could book this leg again, I might do Fussen or Garmisch for the Lake Eibsee day.

Our stay at Hotel am Badersee was so cozy, comfortable and memorable. We would highly recommend a stay here if you will be in southern Bavaria and we would return here on a future visit to Germany. We spent the day at Zugspitze and this hotel was the perfect location to stay after that. We originally planned to spend 1 night only, but liked the hotel and location so much that we spent 2 nights and took the opportunity to take the bus (with the complementary bus passes provided by the hotel) to visit some of the smaller neighboring towns and villages in the area (Garmisch was beautiful). A highlight of the stay was the delicious food that was served at the dinner and breakfast buffets. There was a large variety of things to pick from and it was in a beautiful setting overlooking the lake, but most important of all, the food was absolutely delicious. We loved the variety after eating most of the traditional German foods for several days in Munich. We were also pleasantly surprised by the lower $10/night parking fee as compared to parking fees in Munich. We had a wonderful time - Thank You!

Fantastic four nights at the beautiful Hotel am Badersee, which is just 4-5km from Garmisch and a short hop to Lake Eibsee. We loved everything there and would definitely like to go back to enjoy the spectacular scenery nearby. The room, facilities, spa, breakfast, free parking, and excellent staff (especially Cosmin) made our stay in the Alps a memorable one!

Great hotel in a great location. Bus service into Garmisch-Partenkirchen in one direction and to the Eibsee and zugspitze cable car in the other was useful. Very pleasant staff.

Super Hotel

Hotel am Badersee is beautifully located on a crystal clear, reflective pond at the foot of the mountains. Dining at the restaurant overlooking the pond was peaceful and beautiful. The food and service were excellent. Rooms were updated and comfortable. Location is excellent for nearby hiking and access to the Zugspitze bahn to take you between the Eibsee and Garmisch Partenkirschen. We would happily stay here again.

Wonderful hotel next to the pictures lake, forest and rocky mountain. Stuff was extremely friendly, wonderful dinner and breakfast.

Super hotel! I was able to get a massage at the last minute and the breakfast was so good! It was nice to have so many options and fresh foods. The view at breakfast was really nice as well!

Great hotel nestled in the lap of nature in Grainau. It’s about 6 km from Garmisch but totally worth it! It’s located next to a beautiful lake with a nice hiking path. The rooms are old school but well appointed with amenities. The sauna was very nice after a day of skiing. Food was good and we enjoyed our breakfast. There was free parking available outside but we took the paid basement parking to keep our car warm and easily accessible via the elevators. There were many sweet little gestures like a complimentary postcard postage, Christmas presents etc. Overall we loved it.

Great Hotel! Best breakfast ever. The Badersee is full of trout (I mean, one can't just cast a line wherever, but fun to watch). The restaurant has an outstanding menu, and a great wine list.

Amazing stay at this hotel - the view of the lake & mountain from the balcony is stunning. Room is comfortable & good service. Great location & free bus ticket (2 bus stops away) to Eibsee, where you can easily take a cable car to Zugspite

The Lake view room was great, and clean. My check-in was terrible though. 4 huge luggages and the lift to hotel was obscure, through the restaurant. For this price, I had expected an escort to the lift at least, but dissatisfied with the front counter which had twice failed to help me out to even walk with me to the lift. I mean, how difficult is that especially since i had 2 young kids in tow, there for the first time. Had a bad initial experience but fortunately the rest of hitel staff were wonderful.

Great experience overall, breakfast great and dinner just as good, walk to Eibsee lake 3k from hotel, it’s all uphill for any older people! Social distancing adherents in place, great location and plenty of food in Gainau, walkable in 10 mins...

Beautiful hotel with amazing view. Suit is expensive and bed linen was not too comfortable. We assumed bathtub is with a bigger size based on the photos but it is not. Breakfast was with a buffet but luckily not with self-service! Very well organized, food was protected behind glass windows, tables with good distance and no crowds.

The staff was very friendly and attentive and the hotel itself was very modern and beautiful.

This was such a wonderful place. I would truly stay here again. The bar is wonderful and they remembered us every time we went. It was in a great location and even the breakfast buffet was a delight.

It was dark out when we reached Hotel am Badersee. It was cold. It was late. I’d consumed way too much sparkling water and was 10 minutes away from having to get my car seat reupholstered. At that point in our three-week trip, I would have been perfectly happy with a Vietnam-era cot and latrine. Instead I checked into this gem and was blown away by the luxury, service, and attention to detail. The check-in process was painless and parking was conveniently located in a garage underneath (you could park outside if you like but for only 8 Euro, it was a bargain to have it inside and right next to an elevator). Our room was spacious and, unbeknownst to me at the time, looked out over a beautiful lake and impressive mountains. When we woke up it was like we had been transported to the late-Cretaceous period. “Life finds a way.” The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom was perfect. I liked the separated shower/sink/vanity and water closet. Crisis averted. There was a ton of closet space and also a ton of desk space which meant I could get some work done…except that the WiFi was really really bad. While I could connect to the router, the service was too slow for my laptop to register and my phone barely squeaked by. This just meant that I had to relax instead (insert eye-roll for effect). The food was delicious and there was plenty of time and space to enjoy a long lazy breakfast. Excellent work Hotel am Badersee.

The hotel setting was incredible and the views were even better! There was fresh snow everywhere and it blanketed everything around the lake which made for the perfect setting for our amazing weekend!

I was impressed with my room. It was comfortable and clean. Could use a little updating! Staff was good about assisting with information and maps.
