I wanted to leave a review because my stay was the opposite of how this place is rated. The room was not great. Carpet was filthy, bed was spring city, lamp shade tore up, brown cola sprayed on the walls. It was just not clean at all. I will be staying elsewhere next time.

America’s “best” value inn has serious cleanliness and pest control issues. I made a mistake and booked ABVI in 2 separate cities on our road trip. After canceling the first night in Brenham due to cleanliness and bug issues, we tried to cancel the next 2 nights in New Braunfels. They wouldn’t let us and assured us we wouldn’t have the same issues in New Braunfels as these are “independently” owned. So we gave it a shot. When we got to New Braunfels and checked in we got the entire family (2 adults and 3 children) out and into the room and it was a near mirror image from the previous night. So we packed up and left. Guy at the front desk said they would cancel us, I just needed to call the GM. Called the GM and he said they were gonna keep our money. He said he had receipts from pest control. Maybe he wanted me to use the receipts to smash the bugs in the room? I’m not sure. I’m not talking about a couple of bugs at the front, I’m talking about pests far into the room where “if” the building was sprayed, the bugs would have surely walked over some of it and at least been sick. These crawlers were at full strength. We ended up with fun memories from the trip and since we didn’t stay at ABVI, I won’t have to listen to my kids tell the story about the time bugs crawled on them in their sleep while they were in a sheltered building.

I would not book here again for the simple fact that the rooms look and felt dirty. The pictures on the website are very well edited. I personally would rather book at another hotel next time. It just reminds you of a dirty motel 6.

I checked in after midnight so I had to check in at a door outside instead of the lobby. I rang a buzzer 3 times and no one came. I kept checking behind myself because I didn’t feel safe outside alone with my purse waiting and waiting for a staff member to check me in. I finally called the hotel to tell a staff member that I was waiting outside to check in. That staff member came through the door that I could see from the window I was standing at! I’m not sure why they couldn’t hear the bell! The room was DISGUSTING!!!!! The carpet was stained, the wall was stained and scratched up, the towels were stained, food was spilled down a nightstand and onto the carpet, there was a dead fly stuck to the mirror, the sheets were stained, etc. “Breakfast” included cereal, pre-sliced bagels, spotty bananas, and little Debbie pinwheels and honey buns. Stay far away from this DUMP.

Had to wait in a hot room for maintenance to replace the filter in our AC unit. Car got dirty from them cleaning the upstairs balcony! Cards didn’t work on the door!

Probably the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Bathroom walls were covered in urine. Food and stains all over the floors and other walls. In the morning we found a dead roach on the counter that wasn't there the night before. It had likely gotten into a roach trap and made it's way there to die. Pillow cover had holes from cigarette burns. Everything was covered in dust and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Truly a 0 star stay.

The room they gave us was musty, smelled bad, water from shower smelled bad, the shower did not work. There was spatter all over room on walls. mold on the lamp shades. MOLD on the ac unit vents. I will never stay here again. its absolutely disgusting.

The hotel room could have been ALOT cleaner! The pillow cases and linings felt rough like towels because I’m sure they don’t separate when washing.
The pool was dirty and the hot tub didn’t work. Parking is limited & the breakfast is a joke.

My family came over to stay on our confirmed night. However, there were about 20 to 30 men that looked very sketchy.they were all smoking and drinking at the front of their hotel. We have a 13 year-old daughter that they all locked eyes on and we felt very uncomfortable. we basically told the front office they can keep our money and we’re going to book somewhere else with another hotel.

This location wasn’t the worst but the stay was uncomfortable. To begin with we get into the room and the tables are weirdly placed to block a conjoining rooms door. There was no microwave in the room only one placed in a common area that was outside. The room had a muggy stale smell to it, I had to go out and by air freshener. I tried to wash a load of laundry since we were in a near by river just before and the machines didn’t work, they just sent me across to the street to a sketchy laundry mat. I had specifically booked the room because it had a hot tub, we showed up and the hot tub was empty. If you’re going to literally just sleep, wake up and leave, it’s a good fit for you. The good thing was that the breakfast was decent, had quite a few options.

Not a good experience. First room neighbors were loud, room was dirty and the ceiling leaked in the shower all night. Moved to a different room for the second night. Room was a little better but one of the beds had blood stains on the sheets. Shower barely spit out water, the shower head was so crusted with calcification. Baseboards are filthy, made the mistake of moving the nightstand to plug in my phone doesn’t look like anyone ever cleaned behind it. The side of the tub was crusted with what looked like vomit next to the toilet. Toilets in both rooms continuously ran. Glad to leave, would not ever stay there again. I’m not a stranger to budget friendly motels but this was one of the worst I’ve ever seen.

Fiest it snelled of string mold.Turning on the heat made it smell even worse. The dark carpet was nasty and also smelled bad. There were nasty stuff on the bathroom wall. It looks like the house cleaner pretty much just made the bed and wiped the counters off. Dont let the internet pictures fool you.
They do allow pets. Thers a $25 dollar a day fee with a possible $200 cleaning fee.

This hotel is nothing flashy, but rooms were clean & bug free which is a huge plus! When I checked in @ the front desk the man said my booking was for a smoking room so I immediately requested to be changed to a non-smoking room and he was able to accommodate without any problem or change in rate, which was nice. They have a small breakfast area in the lobby which looked to have waffles, juice, coffee, pastries, & a couple fruit options but we didn't have time to sit down and eat as we were leaving early the next morning. There was nobody at the front desk or in the breakfast lobby to formerly check out with when I went in at 8 a.m. so I just left my key in the "checkout" box and left.

The shower head pointed to the bathroom floor, getting the floor wet. the security door latch was loose, needs tightening. We were charged for a night, that I couldn't call to say we would be there in two days, no direct number to the hotel. The bed was hard as rocks, woke up with a major back ache. Requested extra bath towels, didn't get.
