El personal y la situación del hotel en plena puerta de Sol

Es la tercera vez que me hospedo en este hotel y ésta vez si he notado que la limpieza en otras ocasiones ha sido bastante mejor.

Exceptional breakfast, with options for vegans, vegetarians and gluten-free. Staff incredibly helpful. Comfy room and beds, different pillows to choose (firm or soft). Sustainable and eco-friendly products.

A small nuisance that was not very important but worth mentioning. As the hotel is in the very heart of the city (Sol), there's some noise from the street. We were on a high floor and the window had good insulation, but even so, as we were facing a narrow street, we could hear some noises, drunk people and so on.

Great location and value for money. The room was lovely and the bed was comfortable. Staff at the front desk were very helpful. It was great to be able to open the balcony door.

Can be noisy - other guests were very loud late at night in the hallway. Hopefully a one off.

- Staff: The staff at this location was incredible. They were communicative, kind, and took excellent care of us especially with a big issue (see below) - Location: 30 seconds walk from the Puerta del Sol, so you're right in the center and action of the tourist part of Madrid - Cleanliness and comfort: All of the hotel and both rooms we stayed in were very clean and well taken care of by the hospitality staff

- Wifi: The wifi was awful. We could never establish a good connection in either of the rooms we stayed in (see below). My husband's phone could connect sometimes, but my phone in particular would only get a wifi connection for 10 seconds at a time. Luckily we had purchased an upgraded phone plan. As an American traveler, if you are depending on wifi rather than cellular connection, this may not be the best choice - A/C: The air-conditioning left a lot to be desired. It would run and run but never really get cold - Room issue: Halfway through our stay we took a day trip, and when we came back, there was water dripping down onto the bed from the ceiling (around the smoke detector). It had clearly been leaking for most of the day, as there was an enormous puddle of water on our bed. We told the staff and they immediately came up to the room to help. They believed it was due to frequent rain at the time, and that the hotel is in an older building. They changed us to a new room on the spot, which we appreciated. But still, we had to pack up all our things and "move house" in the middle of our stay. And thankfully we hadn't left any of our clothes/electronics on that exact part of the bed while we were gone!

initially we were put in room 507, which did not have a window and was very dark/cramped. We asked for a change in room and were given 307, which was much more well aerated and had a large window.
