Charming hotel with 2 restaurants on site, gorgeous pool, afternoon tea and chess. Room was very spacious and perfect for our family. Town is walkable from hotel. Delicious breakfast buffet included. Really lovely stay.

Property is at the north end of Zermatt but still within walking distance (5mins) of the railway station. A shuttle bus is available on request though. Nice comfortable rooms over 2 or 3 sites packed close together in traditional Swiss chalet design. Road through to the main Zermatt centre runs alongside property and it's an easy few minutes walk to many shops and train stations to the Gornergrat and Klein Matterhorn as well as some lovely walks just around the surrounding valley.

Wonderful place. Family room for 5 was comfortable, quiet, and had great balcony with a beautiful view of town and mountains. Breakfast, pool, and hot tub are all great. Grounds are nicely landscaped and location is convenient. Added convenience of bars and restaurants on site.

We booked june 26-28 thru terrible Expedia. There was a flood calamity thatvtime they close somw roads going to that hotel so we canceled our booking. They agreed to refund us but to initiate refund i have to oay penalty fee so I did .After 2 days they said they will not refund even they gave me confirmation for the refund .My family was disappointed imagine the fear and looking for a place to stay that time because the the flood and even the train we booked refunded us but this hotel and Expedia did not look at after the safety and comfort of their customers. They are after their business and money .They don't really care the vacation that every family has prepared and in the event of inevitable circumstances like natural disaster they don't really care as long as you paid them.The hotel asking me to review my stay .They should stop deceiving people especially famijy with kids traveling from another country like us.

We loved everything about it!

Everything was nice, from the moment of checking in to checking out. Room, amenities, facilities and restaurant. Even the shuttle service was provided upon arrival at the station. I strongly recommend to stay.

There is just one small lift, and you need to wait for quite a while to get into it. It's not very convenient if you have a lot of luggages.

Spa is amazing

This is my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Compared to other places in Zermatt, this one was very affordable given the great quality and amenities. Five minute walk from the train station, great dining options right inside the hotel, and very friendly/helpful staff. Room was so clean and modern, loved the rainfall shower.

I must compliment the hotel facilities and cleaning staffs for making our stay an enjoyable one. The wellness areas with outdoor jacuzzi, indoor jacuzzi, onsen etc were spot on as well. Would have been 5 stars if not for the unfriendly reception staffs we met during check out, both staring at the screen even i was standing at the desk for quite a while. Requested for the shuttle service to train station as it was raining. The reception staff asked us to wait for the driver without informing the driver. Furthermore, she even sent the driver away to pick up other guests that came later than us, this resulted in us missing our train.

This is such a fun stay in Zermatt. The hotel has such an awesome aesthetic with great restaurants on site. The pool/spa area is absolutely amazing. We visited during off season and had the outdoor hot tub to ourselves. It was blissful after a day of travel. The rooms were super comfortable and the food at the restaurant was satisfying. Very cool vibe overall and it would be a pleasure to stay here again!

Property was very well situated close to train station and with a perfect view of Matterhorn from our room. Room was very spacious with all amenities and a very good touch of tradition. The reception area was also very nice.

everything was great staff outstanding. only issue was the shower was a bit funky in the room no way to "get under the shower head"

Very nice hotel. Comfortable, safe, clean. Great breakfast. Awesome spa and game room. 5-10 minute walk to beginning of shopping/restaurant district and 15 minute walk to Sunnegga for train access to ski area. Very friendly staff. Good for larger groups and small kids too. But there were older couples as well. We will likely stay there again.

Spa & wellness facilities were excellent. Would not hesitate in returning to this hotel. Only negative point would be duvet very thin, I like thick weighted duvets when I sleep.

We stayed here on Christmas eve, check in with Anna was amazing, so freindly, polite, helpful and knowledgeable. She was a pleasure to deal with and is a credit to the hotel. Made our Christmas stay extra special. Beautiful room with a view. Breakfast was really good,so much variety. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Alpen resort was by far the best hotel I’ve been to. The room, pool & spa were all very clean and well-maintained. The spa here was the highlight of my Zermatt trip. The shuttle service is very convenient, and if you don’t have too much luggage, you can walk to/from the station! I’d HIGHLY recommend this place to all my friends and family and I’ll definitely stay here if I visit Zermatt again!

Very clean ! The pool is amazing it’s like a spa.

Just very sensibly run. Everything I’d think to do, they’ve done. The wellness area is intelligently designed with pool, hot tub, changing areas etc. The rooms aren’t fancy but they are adequate and have better channels than more expensive hotels (I checked). Good breakfast too!

We had a wonderful stay and would return any time! Really impressed with the vegan option in the Hornox restaurant... check them out! The spa is amazing... and our 1.5-year old loved the children play areas! All the staff has been fantastic! Thank you and until next time...
