Nice place! It has everything one would need and then some. We enjoyed our stay there even though we were out and about most of the time. A good place for us to end the days. Quite and off the beaten path. Small store, pizza, bar and auto parts all within walking distance.

We had a nice stay riding the North hills. Cabin was cozy and as described. Street is a little narrow but hosts were accommodating. Lumpy’s was our evening stop nice local people! We were able to ride from the cabin to trails. Enjoyed the blackstone, although the guests prior to us left it coated in their eggs. An enjoyable stay would stay again.

Friend stayed a couple nights with his teenage daughter, My sister-in-law came for a few nights. Great intro for her to the Black Hills. My only suggestion would be a portable AC unit set up in the loft. Amazing cabin and so well stocked to settle right in!

Cozy little cabin right outside Deadwood. Easy access to highway. No great views, but quiet and comfortable. Communication and kindness of owner was awesome.

We needed some time away from the hectic summer schedule. The cabin was a perfect get away for us. Got to do a little site seeing and lots of relaxing! Cute little cabin tucked away. Good food in the area too! We would definitely go back!

We really enjoyed the cabin. It's decorated beautifully with rustic nik naks. It had a very comfortable and relaxing vibe. It was kept very clean and had all the essentials that were needed. We did receive excellent communication from the owners when we had to reach out. We visited custer park, badlands, Mount Rushmore and wall drug. They were all about an hour and a half away from the cabin. Deadwood was pretty cool too.

Very nice quiet location. Wildlife in the back yard. The covered deck is awesome. We ate all our meals outside on the deck. I can’t think of anything I’d change to make it better. Our family had a great time!

We loved our stay! The cabin is in a great location - just a few minutes from Deadwood & Lead. The neighborhood was quiet, which we prefer. We have a family of 4 with a 12 yr old and 14 yr old. They were glad to have their own spaces to sleep. Beds were comfortable. I liked the heated mattress pads! Fans were available for white noise which was a bonus (we didn't need them for cooling). Owners responded very quickly when we had questions. We highly recommend staying here!

We LOVED the style of this cozy cabin. It had that perfect touch and was amazing to have our own space on a long vacation compared to hotel rooms. We cooked meals for a break from restaurants. The patio and bedrooms and all the space couldn’t have been better. Easy check in and check out. Just what we wanted in a vacation rental!

This property is a quaint little cabin that offers easy access to Deadwood and Spearfish Canyon. The covered deck, grill and blackstone griddle are very nice features.

This was a fantastic home that immediately made you feel welcome. It is the perfect size for a small group or family to sit back and relax. My favorite parts of the property were the spiraling staircase and outdoor deck. Dean and Teresa were extremely friendly and answered any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks for the hospitality!

My brother and I stayed here while deer hunting in the hills. It is in a great location and quiet. Extremely inviting, warm, clean and very comfortable. We stayed back in 2017 as well and will continue to as the host are wonderful and accommodating. My wife saw the pictures and immediately asked if we could go up there and stay and we are planning that trip. Thanks you so much Dean and Teresa!!

Just as advertised. Fun erustic retreat with easy access to Deadwood, Lead, Sturgis and beyond. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the quiet and privacy.
Small nik for those expecting high speed internet, tho. Internet speed was too slow for uninterrupted evening movies or Prime Video...very jerky and on. But if youre there to escape all that...it was awesome!

The owners are awesome to communicate with. Place is perfectly located between the hustle of Deadwood and small town Lead. Pizza lab is just down the street, great food! Great location!!

This was the second year that we stayed and wenrrally love the location of this cabin as it is close enough to Deadwood to take in all of the rodeo events and then also close to a lot of nearby attractions too! The cabin is just the right size too!

We had a great stay. The bed in the master bedroom though, was very firm. Loved the selection of local establishments. We patronized Pizza Lab and Smoking J’s saloon which were just a short distance from this VRBO location. Great options. We also loved the central location of this rental. So many things to do between Deadwood, Lead, Spearfish and more!

This is the second time I have stayed at the rustic retreat. It is the absolute perfect little cabin for four guys to stay on a ski trip. Great access to Terry Peak. Walking distance to downtown Central city. I just love it!

We loved this little cabin! It was perfect for the snowy weekend we visited in November. The fireplaces in all the rooms kept the place warm and cozy. The cabin itself is full of rustic charm and is very warm and inviting. I agree with others that have said that this is one of the most well stocked VRBOs they have ever stayed in. It felt like home away from home and had more than everything we needed. Thank you Dean and Teresa! My kids loved the stairs, loft, and smart TVs. The location was great for visiting with friends in the area, hitting our favorite local pizza place and ice skating in Deadwood. Our youngest is already asking when we can go back. Looking forward to the next time we can visit! Thank you for wonderful memories!

We LOVE this property!! After a full day of excitement, its always nice to come home to the cabin in its beautiful, quiet setting!! We book it every year, the same weekend. My only concern is that the beds are a tad to hard........maybe some mattress toppers could be added?? Aside from that, we love it here!!

We loved this place. The cabin is beautiful with rustic charm. The location is great for what we wanted, just outside deadwood. Within walking distance to pizza joint and casino/bar. Right in the heart of the Black Hills. Would love to stay here again.

This cabin was just the perfect size and not far from Deadwood! We like rustic and that's what this cabin was. The weather was beautiful and the deck with the Blackstone griddle was used daily in the morning for our breakfast. We will be back to stay in this cabin again!

This three bedroom cabin has all the amenities for a family of six to stay and be comfortable. There is all the comforts of home and located close to all the attractions we were interested in. We thorough enjoyed coming back to this rustic retreat each day to grill out and enjoy the perfect secluded deck. We also were treated to watch the deer come through each evening, and the little chipmunks running about for entertainment. Highly recommend.

We stayed 2 nights on our way from KS to Montana. Checked out Deadwood. Really enjoyed sitting/eating on the deck and the rustic feel. The loft was too hot so people slept on the futon. Had to buy a pie pan to make cobbler. Everyday cleaning is good, but is ready for a deep clean to get the extras. Would recommend and stay again..

This is a nice rustic cabin that has a big deck off of the back of the house. The cabin was easy to find and isclose to the area attractions. We enjoyed our stay and will recommend this cabin to our friends and family members.

Our stay at the Rustic Retreat cabin was the perfect venue to stay at over the Deadwood Mickelson Trail Marathon weekend. Perfect cabin and perfect accommodations for us runners to rest, relax, and spend quality time with friends.

Nice central location if you looking to stay in the northern hills. Coverd deck was great for eating even in the rain. Nice fire places in each bedroom.. Only downfall for me was not having any views, but tucked in-between houses and buildings. But all the views are only a few blocks away.

We had an amazing time in the hills and the condition and location of the property was perfect. We spent time in Lead, Deadwood, Spearfish, and Rapid City. The kids were able to walk down to a pizza place with arcade games. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Short drive to downtown Deadwood. Quiet street. Property is rustic and homey. Well equipped with everything you need. Can stay inside or if you prefer, you can have a campfire or hang out on the large deck. Only disadvantage for our group of four adults is having to share one bathroom. We recommend this property.
