The location was very private and quiet. The home was clean and comfortable. We especially loved the open living area and the GORGEOUS view! We will stay here again!

This is our 2nd year for Christmas at the Shellseeker! Wonderful home. The views are outstanding. You can hear the ocean from every room, which is very important to us.

Great house, fantastic views. We were disappointed that the fireplace was electric and not wood as listed in the amenities. We still enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The property is beautifully located and has nice big rooms. The rooms were clean, flowers were on the table and the whales were spouting outside the window. The windows needed a serious cleaning - pressure washing? The deck is NOT safe for small children - the railing cords are very loose. The stairs down to the beach need at least a good railing to be safe. The big rug in the main room and one out of the garage were serious tripping hazards - bent up on corners where someone else tripped before us. A cupboard door was broken off the hinge. The bathtub/shower downstairs was very high sided and not easy for even the adults to climb into. The toilets all need upgrading to taller ones. There was a ripped up couch that needs to be tossed in the master suite - pretty gross. Someone (previous guest? owner?) left a closet full of clothes in the master suite closet and boots and shoes in the garage. The safety concerns MUST be addressed soon or someone is going to get hurt. I have pictures if you need them.

Stayed for a couple days. Enjoyed the short walk to the beach each morning.

This home was perfect for our costal getaway with family visiting from the Midwest. The house was very spacious and extremely clean. The view was beyond compare and a small pod of whales entertained us right in front of the house for two days. The furnishings were great and the house was well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only suggestion would be a house number identifier out at the road to make the correct driveway easier to find. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

The good: - Great location with beautiful views. Easy access to both Newport and Waldport. - Easy beach access - Fairly well stocked - Great layout. The big living/room kitchen was perfect for spending time in. - Felt very private - Plenty of bedding/pillows - House was clean Could be better: - House was pretty dated. This didn't bother our group but things like the carpet in particular were pretty worn. - Several of the pump style hand soaps had been watered down to the point of being basically nothing but water. - House could have used a crab pot. I rent a house on the Oregon coast annually and this is the first time I have rented a house without one. - Hot water would run out with a larger group. Just FYI take quick showers if you have more than just a couple people. - The cooking pans were in pretty bad shape. They are non-stick but so worn there was basically no coating left. - No cell phone reception at the house, but the house did have good wifi. Overall the house was a great place to stay with family. I loved the location. Check in and out were super easy. I think a few small things could be updated, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Everything a family could wish for on beach vacation. Great ocean views direct access to the beach, very complete stocked kitchen. Beach is miles long in each direction, and best of all you have the entire beach almost to yourself.

Shell seeker was a great house on the coast for a family weekend. The open living space had wonderful views and was a great place for puzzles, board games and communal meals. The mattresses all felt a little old but overall was a comfortable stay for a weekend. Would rent again.

The house was perfect. Well stocked and clean and all the privacy in the world. We will definitely book this house again!

Great house with even better views. The only thing we had issues with was the deck- many loose boards which made us leery to use it. It doesn't seem as sturdy as it should be. At one point a board was actually coming up when stepped on, which caused one sore ankle. The house is well stocked and has everything one would need, however It definitely needs updated. The door in the downstairs living room and door in master bedroom leading to outside had signs on it stating to not open- which I found odd. This would make access to outside convenient jnstead of having to go to the main doors. Also, the master bathroom window had a sign posted to not open. With some updating and repairs, this house would be perfect :)

We couldn't have asked for a better home away from home. This house is roomy and was scrupulously clean, the kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable and the furnishings are beautiful. It's tucked away just off the highway, far enough that you can't hear the traffic, only the ocean, and is surrounded by enough trees and foliage to make it very private. And the view is absolutely fantastic: ocean and beach as far as you can see!

We arrived on Friday and on Saturday when everyone was taking showers, my dad grabbed a towel that was folded in a cupboard and it had poop on it. I’m not sure if they just leave towels that haven’t been “touched” and only wash what looks like it’s been used after people leave. But it was disgusting. Besides that it was great a trip.

This place has great views from every room in the house. Quiet beautiful location. However the beds are hard and pretty uncomfortable. Also lacked any dishwasher detergent and extra garbage bags.

We always love our stay at this comfortable and spacious home with spectacular views. We enjyed some marvelous sunsets over Thanksgiving week and found everything we needed for all our kitchen needs. It is our family favorite on the coast with many happy memories.

Good and bad. Clean, great views, well equipped kitchen, quiet, private. Only one bedroom upstairs. The downstairs with 2 bedrooms and TV room smells strongly of mildew, to the point that we slept on upstairs couches and left all the windows open. Gross old mildewed caulking in tub and around sink. Stained carpets. Burnt flooring by heater vents. Sketchy rotten deck boards w missing rusted away braces that hold up deck posts. Moldy, dirty window tracks. Vinyl couch peeling. Dinged, mismatched furniture. This is a great place that is in need of some regular maintenance and a few updates. Wouldn’t rent again because of mildew smells downstairs. Upstairs was great though.

Fantastic family getaway location. Beautiful views with lots of space to spread out. Kitchen was fully stocked for cooking. Only negatives were the beach access is a little steep for little kids or older people and one of the puzzles was missing a piece.

We've been vacationing at Shellseeker since 2015. The views of the ocean are spectacular; washing dishes is fun because even the kitchen has a great view of the beach. The kitchen is nicely appointed (including a crockpot); we usually make several slow cooker meals so we can relax in the cozy great room. The neighborhood is quiet, just enjoy the soothing sounds of the ocean on the huge wrap around deck.

Awesome views. Easy access to the beach right off the back yard. Plenty of space for our group of 9.
