Hotel is in a great place close to the Rhine

Restaurant and bar were closed when we arrived. we also had to pay cash and not card for our stay. not the end of the world but I had to withdraw at a local ATM

Breakfast was very good choice of food

Hotel only accepted cash and not debit card. Not always open in the evenings for meals and drinks

Friendly and welcoming. We had a little problem with the heating in the room on the first night but this was sorted out with no fuss and we were given lots of extra blankets to boot. The breakfast is fresh and lots of choice, the views are beautiful, they are open when other places are shut, it’s just fab. The evening meals are great too! 😀

On his Bookings.com hotel policy it clearly states credit cards accepted at the very bottom of the page. We were humiliated when booking in to be asked for cash. Who carries much cash when travelling? The hotel responded to another guest who complained about having to pay cash by saying they did not want to be caught up in the digital web. Why are they using Bookings.com a internet hotel bookings system and why is there a computer at the front desk then? Why was no receipt offered? We had to go back to the desk to ask for it. The room was dusty, with a stain on the carpet and a stain on table-cloth. One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in during our 4 long trips over 8 years to Europe.

Great location for the Rhine in Flames. Good traditional food and wine. Very near to the train station.

It was a little bit like the German version of Faulty Towers. They tried hard, but it always went wrong. Generally very clean, but fell short when we pushed the beds together to find a heap of dust, they had not cleaned under the bed.
