Perched on a hill above the famous church of San Gennaro on a walkway known as the 'Path of the Gods' the apartment overlooks the pretty town of Praiano, with views of Positano and the glamourous island of Capri in the distance. The centre of Praiano (one of those towns emblematic of this region that clings implausibly to hillsides plunging dramatically into the deep blue waters below) is reachable by means of a set of around 60 stairs, at a distance of around 200 metres. There, not only will you find bags of typical Italian charm, but a wealth of lovely cafés where you can watch the world go by with an aromatic cup of energising espresso, authentic trattoria serving out-of-this-world pasta, seafood, and meat dishes accompanied by freshly grilled vegetables, and higher-end restaurants with panoramic sea views. As for the apartment itself? It feels traditional, without feeling dated – seamlessly stitching together fine pieces of antique furniture, with clean-cut modern and functional items, whilst tile flooring and the occasional wooden beam act as a nod to a bygone era. We especially love the exposed stone detailing on the archway in the bedroom area. Could there be a better way to wake up than to open your eyes and see the twinkling waters of Tyrrhenian Sea shimmering before you, as that enigmatic Almafi Coast light streams through the window creating patterns on the ground as it hits the wrought iron balcony?
