Although we arrived when it was dark, on waking in the morning the location was idyllic. We loved the idea of sitting outside in the warmer weather watching the barges going along the canal. The hospitality was exceptional. As we arrived late we were offered a hot cooked meal, at a very reasonable price. The owner Gail and her mum Jean were so easy to chat too and made us feel so relaxed. When up in the area again, we will definitely book another stay.

An ensuite room would have been ideal. But we couldn't fault the cleanliness of the bathroom.

Our stay at the Canalside was lovely. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hosts were so kind and accommodating. The food was fantastic! Overall, it was a great experience.

A wonderful warm reception and good old fashioned hospitality. Very clean and warm. Comfortable. I was offered an evening meal which I thought was amazing and great value. If I am lucky enough to get a booking I would go again. Thank you Gale and Mrs Mum.

Only that my room was not en suite...but I booked it as such so it was not a surprise. I just prefer en suite if available.

The breakfast was wonderful with so many choices, and beautifully laid out. Could not fault anything. The owners were really lovely and welcoming.
