We loved our stay at Lakeside. The back yard and dock are great, no steep stairs to climb to get there! They supply more goods than most houses. It was voted one of the best houses we’ve stayed in at SML.

This home was the perfect get away for my young family. We loved how easy it was to get to the lake and dock. Docking our boat was simple. We enjoyed lounging on the dock and a few visits from the ice cream truck!

The property is very clean. It is a great location on the lake with a beach area for kids. It is well stocked, even providing a canoe, paddle board and kayak! I would definitely stay there again. The inside steps are steep for the elderly but there is a bedroom on the main floor. The hosts have thought of everything a family might need!

Very comfortable for our family and doggies. One negative was hot tub which was frozen over because it had been left open and when we thawed it was only half full and not looking clean enough to use. Kitchen well equipped and comfortable beds awesome lake view

Neighborhood was nice and quiet. Appreciated having the firewood provided to use. House was clean and had everything we needed to prepare meals at home.

As advertised with the exception we felt the pictures may have been a bit misleading with the rooms. The stairs to upstairs were a little steap for half the party but we had a great time. Cute rustic cabin!

Our entire family enjoyed our stay. Everything was accurately listed, the house was very clean, and the yard was perfect for our furbaby. And did I mention the sunsets!??! Absolutely, beautiful!!!

Happy with our stay

The house was perfect for our needs. The fenced in yard was key for our dog and the lower level family room with dart board and foosball was a hit for the kids. Beds were comfortable and plenty of space for the 4 of us plus pup. Property manager responsive to some minor issues during the stay. Would definitely stay at the property again.

Kitchen was fully equipped. Boat house had lots of activities.. Great flat yard for play. No extra trash bags, paper towels or toilet paper was annoying and front door didn’t lock, otherwise a great property.

Great house with a wonderful dock! Just what we needed for a few days at the lake. We rented a boat and loved the private covered dock house. Great fire pit and hot tub! Great place for a family get a way.

Loved the location right on the lake. The boat house was used for lots more than getting on the boat. The bedrooms on all three floors provided lots of privacy for grandparents, parents & kids. We'll be back.

Great spot, great layout in house with plenty of space and great sunset views. Property management was also very nice and helpful. We had a great weekend playing games and catching up.

NOTE: This cottage is managed by third party real estate and when it comes to being responsive, they take no appropriate actions and tell you it was all Owner's call and they DO NOT take any further responsibility. This place is a nice cottage overall and has a beautiful scenery. That's all the good things I can tell about this place. They DO NOT provide linens, as it was not mentioned on VRBO website. Their wifi is limited and they charge you money if you use more than 3 GB during your stay. They charge you with a ridiculous amount of deposit. We are a party of 6 that know each other for more than 3 yrs now and we travel at least three times a year. Everywhere we went, we received compliments from the owners saying how well we maintained the house. But NOT this time with this owner and the agency. They took away a fraction of our deposit showing us a picture of some minor scratches on the floor beside the fireplace saying this is probably b/c of the firewood. First of all, we never took firewood package inside the house. Nothing heavy fell on the floor that can be the cause for those scratches. And I doubt anybody from our party had a nail underneath his feet LOL. I asked from every individual of our party if they recall anything like that. No one did, in fact one mentioned that he specifically checked the floor prior our departure and there was nothing like that. Even though the floor in the dining hall was full of these minor scratches. This is all ridiculous. I wish I could post the picture they sent us, so you could see it by yourself. The funny part is that the rental company tells you that it is owner's call and they cannot do anything about it. I asked how to contact the owner then? They replied go write a comment/review. In anyways, I do not recommend to do any business with these people.

This house has a beautiful wide-water view and a nice flat beach. There are so many windows! The fenced backyard was wonderful for our dog. The decking and fencing look new. The neighborhood is very quiet. It might look remote on a map, but you can go pick up your forgotten grocery items with a 15 minute drive. Linens are not included. We found out this is common for the Smith Mountain Lake area. You must bring your own sheets and towels. Our family recommends bringing your own pillows and blankets, too. (There is a thin coverlet provided on each bed.)

This property and this lake are truly amazing! The lake has everything you could ever want from bar and grill type restaurants to 4 stars all easily reachable by boat. The property itself has some many amenities and provides that warm lake feel with its beautiful wood finishes throughout. The basement was a great playground for our kids. The absolute best features are the hot tub and sandy beach. We laid around all day on the plastic aidorndaks in about 6!inches of water with our feet and cocktails floating in the paddle board. We didn't have to walk more than a few feet on the dock to a full sized fridge which we stocked with adult and kid beverages and rarely needed to go into the house during the day. The kayaks and the paddle board plus all the supplies floaties made out kids days. At night we soaked in the huge hot tub and chilled out inside by the real wood burning fireplace.
