Agualí is a beautiful place in the hills above Matagalpa. The nature is great here, and it is well worth going up the hill to spend time here. It is an added bonus that staying at Agualí supports Agualí’s environmental education programs for children and adolescents. We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights there and hope to return someday!

Host was very welcoming and we enjoyed great conversations every night. Her project is great and the ambitions she has to help the environment and local community sincere. More people should visit to help contribute to the cause.

Lovely stay. The farm is a great setting with beautiful views and they run lots of community projects from the space. Helpful friendly staff.

Awesome stay, Gema made me feel very welcomed. The rooms and bathroom were clean and because it is on the top of the mountain, the weather is nice and fresh at night. It is a bit out of the ways as you have to climb a steep Hill for about fifteen minutes, but for relaxing, there is nothing like being away from the city. During my stay Gema was gracious and patient enough to help me practice my Spanish. On weekends they host different educational events such as English learning, bird watching, and learning about climate change to name a few. Really cool place, strongly recommend for anyone coming to Matagalpa!

Beautiful location, super friendly hosts. Our room was basically a whole house and had a lovely outdoor patio space.

The bathroom was outdoos so there were a lot of mosquitoes in the shower. Taxi drivers have no idea where this place is so make sure you brush up on your directions in Spanish and have Google maps open 😀
