We took a family trip this week and let me say this was an absolutely amazing place to stay. Was slightly difficult with GPS but we made it. It is exactly as pictured was amazingly organized and cozy! Christmas decorations were perfect and the Grinch made my day! Mrs Susie is so sweet and easy to message and communicate with. I will most definitely consider staying here again! Thanks Y’all From The Heart Of Louisiana!

Great stay, a little hard to find and the dirt road needs some holes filled but great property.

We stayed here for fall break (4 nights) with our two daughters and their friends. Everything was perfect, the hot tub was so relaxing after the days’ activities and we loved the record player and games, both indoor and outdoor games. They have the cabin decorated so cute and it was just the perfect getaway to relax with the kids and have a little break from our stressful jobs. Highly recommend!

It was wonderful

This was a much needed trip away for our family. It was our first getaway since daddy being here permanently with us after a long 6 year wait. We relaxed and did everything local possible. It was the perfect set up for two families with children. Iy was spotless and had every you could want at a cabin. Games, hot tub, NO BUGS at all, fire-pit, hikes, plus a lovely plot that was perfect to allow the kids to run around and just be kids without technology! Highly would recommend and will be booking again!

We were looking for a family getaway during spring break. Maxwell House was the perfect choice. The owners pay attention to every detail in order to make it a special getaway. One example to detail is the drink fridge so that you can use the large fridge for all of your food! The kitchen is fully stocked to enjoy cooking meals at the cabin. The game table downstairs is great for family fun! The upstairs is a wonderful area for the kids to sleep, play games, hangout and enjoy the arcade game. We loved the concept of trundle beds and not bunk beds upstairs to accommodate all ages with charging stations near each bed! The outside area is so relaxing and supplied with comfy chairs on all sides of the deck. Once you have chosen to stay here, it is evident that the owners care about this property and making your stay the best it can be for your friends and family. Maxwell-House truly enables you to cherish family time and enjoy a slower pace!

This cabin is amazing! We were a large group of 9 (4 adults and 5 kids 4-13) and we had plenty of room! The cabin is fully stocked with what you’ll need to enjoy your stay and the owner is so communicative that you’ll have no issues you can’t resolve. The kids loved playing outside and collecting the granite (we guessed) that is laying around. The hot tub was a crowd favorite along with the game consoles located on both levels of the house. We were right across the street from Beaver Bend state park where we hiked the Friendship Trail (that initial incline is brutal) and we loved the waterfall. Totally a must do if you visit. We all slept great and felt right at home even with our two pups! If you’re looking for a solid getaway cabin this is the one!

This stay was a 10 out of 10. I would recommend the Maxwell House to anyone trying to get away or just have a great and grand vacation in a different places. The house itself is worth the stay. From the countless activities, luxurious and comfortable furniture, and one of a kind house design, my wife and I never had a moment that we were bored or looking for something to do. We used the game board which has every childhood game you could think and found ourselves immersed in the competition for hours. During our stay we found ourselves every morning enjoying a cup of Maxwell coffee while sitting outside and being entertained with the peacefulness sounds of nature and also bird watching. Both of us love to hike so we would take our dog and go to one of the countless hiking trails near by. The trails are easy but come with incredible views. From walking up and down the river, to walks around the lake there was always something worth seeing (even the walks around the neighborhood with all the incredible houses). One of the separators for this house is the location. To get to anywhere around the most you will drive is 20 minutes. We found ourselves trying every restaurant recommendation and we were not let down especially from the pizza! The local brewery was one of our favorites with a wonderful atmosphere. And all places are dog friendly! At night it was literally a dream. From being able to see all the stars, the awesome fire pit, and of course the lawn games. The most impressive thing is how quiet the area was even with all the bachelor parties going on near by. I would recommend this stay to anyone and I cannot wait to go back soon!

Our family absolutely loved everything about this house! Everything is so well-organized and there are lots of fun things to do inside and outside. Our favorites were grilling over the open fire pit, giant sudoku board in the kitchen, cornhole and listening to records on the turn table. You will not be disappointed with Maxwell House! Beautiful property and had everything we needed. The host was great to work with and very accommodating. The property was clean and the location was perfect for us.

We had 2 families of 4 stay at the Maxwell House and it could have been a more perfect accommodation. Communication from the owner was awesome, complete with every detail organized for easy access. The cabin is beautiful, inside and out. Very open, 2 king masters with en suite bathrooms and very comfortable beds, plenty of storage and huge tvs. Living room has super comfy couches and the upstairs loft was amazing for the 4 kids. The kitchen is packed with everything you could need and the beverage fridge helped free up space in the nice fridge. We loved the hot tub and backyard games too. The location was close enough to get to the things we wanted and far enough that you felt space to relax. We’d definitely love to come back to the Maxwell House.

This property was by far the best we have ever stayed in. The owners have thought about every detail. We had an amazing 4 days enjoying our coffee on the porch in the morning. The kitchen was well supplied and every switch is labeled! So very organized.

Favorite place on the property was the back deck by the outdoor fireplace. I had to work while on vacation and it was the perfect location! So relaxing and secluded. It rained a bit during our stay and it was so nice to sit by the fire and listen to the thunder. We attended with another family and they’ve reached out already wishing they were back at the house. Also, Suzee was awesome with allowing us to bring our pups last minute. And she checked in during a big storm to let us know where flashlights were. Would definitely recommend Maxwell house to all.
