Stayed four days to explore the everglades and keys.

We would not stay in this property again. The house was mostly as shown in the pictures, but it was what we could not see that made us uncomfortable. The main issue was that the neighbors were very loud (party) until after after 2am 3 of the 5 nights we stayed. The apartment is a few blocks from a very bad part of town and we questioned our safety. All but one window was unlocked in the house when we arrived and there was no security lock for the sliding glass door. We found a broken broom handle in the closet and used this. The front door has hinges that are on the outside of the house adding to the feeling of insecurity. We likely would not have noticed these things if the area didn't create cause for concern. The host was very quick to respond to messages, but not much could be done about the situation. Also, the house has great space for families to sleep, but no space for families to gather. The living room fits a love seat only and there is a patio but it has not chairs or tables and is not well kept. There is a gate (no lock) in the back yard that opens to a big field. We were excited to have that space with playground for the kids, but it was covered in trash and dog poop (also after seeing the neighborhood and crime stats we didn't fell comfortable going back there. Also, someone approached us as we were loading our car to leave the house and tried to enter the home while we had the door open. They said they were the cleaner. We had no evidence of that.

While the house was very nicely decorated and clean and communication was great, the house lacked basic things that every other VRBO we’ve stayed in had: dish soap, dish towels, coffee, laundry detergent and Kleenex. As with any condo there was a good bit of extra noise around (dogs, TV next door, cars) but nothing that lasted long or that violated laws. Overall a good stay.

2 days before check in we were notified that there is a water problem and it would not be fixed in time for our stay. We ended up having to stay at another property which the same owner had. it was nice enough, except the location was in town and parking was not as nice as the place we had reserved. This is why I can't give any ratings.. We never saw the place we had reserved.
