Fun place, friendly staff. Overall good time. They should think about putting a pool outdoors for summer.

Tub and Sauna

Pros, At night time the lodge looks warm and cozy. Great ambient. The food in the restaurant was really nice. All in all we had a good time. Cons, The hotel is 3 years old, but based on an old hotel from the 30s so it's quite unkempt and entering our Alpine building with the moldy, smelly carpet was not welcoming... The roads... need some TLC. The room was nice but for $400 a night you would expect some better hospitality, like a courtesy of bottle of water, everything was So basic... Not a good marketing. When we arrived we were welcome in a nicely manner... I would hope that people can be much more authentic than their act. Unfortunately we didn't get the right info and stuck with no Wi-Fi for very long time. Lastly, Even though we made reservation through hotels and in the print it's being ashored all fees are included in the price, in practice the resort will charge you extra fees on spot. It is not upscale hotel, but it was an interesting experience.

The bartender was so rude the entire trip. We asked her what the bar food consisted of and she just kept repeating "regular bar food" with an attitude. When you get there, you get a complimentary bubbles or bourbon, we got the bourbon and asked if she can put a splash of cranberry or any juice in it and she refused and said the drink can only be given straight. She had a very standoff attitude and other guest told us of other incidents they had with her making fun of them and telling them the drinks are all premade so she can make it custom but it won't taste any good. Not sure if I've ever seen anything like it tbh. She should definitely not be behind a bar in a social setting. Besides that everything was ok, the entertainment needs improvement, there's not much to do.

Pet friendly , quiet place to relax and amazing view.

To me, and I believe many others, coffee is high on the list of expectations when staying anywhere, high end or low end. I have a hard time figuring this out. If its not doable to have machines in rooms..then at least have fresh coffee available in a communal area in every building. The thermos coffee was not hot, and really bad.. Everything else was amazing here. The music trivia was a blast, The staff, the bar, the food, and the location. It really is a spectacular place..please fix the coffee

This place is absolutely gorgeous! It’s peaceful, nobody bothers you. Yet staff is available at all times. The food is delicious and the drinks were nice! My favorite part was the sauna! Def worth it!

I loved

Absolutely loved the Lodge. Our rooms were extremely clean and loved the decor. I especially loved the big copper tub, heated bathroom tiles and cozy fire. The lodge itself is cozy and I loved how everyone just started hanging out and talking. The restaurant food was good. However, my only complaint is that there aren’t many choices. Highly recommend this relaxing beautiful Lodge!

Great stay. The place smells unbelievable!! And the fires made the lodge so cozy. Due to COVID, their kitchen was closed but they provided a spread for happy hour that had steak, salmon, charcuterie, etc free of charge. A wedding party and 50th bday on Saturday made the common areas a bit crowded at night and wait time at the only bar. Our Room was awesome and the hot tub even better… overall we were able to relax and enjoy the Catskills Like we intended.

Had a great stay. It was definitely like stepping into a different era. The lodge is excellently decorated, rustic and nostalgic. Our room faced the mountains, with a grand claw foot tub in front of an enormous window. Two late 50 year olds attempted a romantic soaking, not the tub’s fault, but was not a smooth experience. But still romantic and worth the try. Unfortunately, the weather was overcast and rainy, but did not take away from the beauty of area and lodge. The restaurant was fantastic, with a focus on local ingredients. The facility offers different activities, like archery, sauna and hiking paths. Planning my next visit.

Amazing atmosphere! Came here for our mini-moon and it was the perfect place to relax after the stress of wedding planning. The food was astounding and they truly thought of everything guests might need. They made our honeymoon so special we have already decided to spend every anniversary here!

Had a beautiful, but far too short stay at the Urban Cowboy, the grounds and rooms are wonderful, the staff were welcoming and kind, and the restaurant and bar were exceptional. A perfect place to relax and unwind, can't wait to return. If you stay, make sure to order the fried chicken sandwich from the Parlor menu!

Great stay. Only negative for us was no activities offered during the week only on weekends. Would have loved to do axe throwing for sure! Staff was extremely pleasant.

Extremely relaxing and serene, delicious food and the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a while.

We stayed overnight for 1 night because we attended a wedding down the road. I loved how rustic it was. We would like to return in the fall for the foliage.

Spectacular location, every last detail is thoughtfully perfect Great staff , had an amazing stay

Stayed here overnight before picking up my kids from camp. Dined outside at the restaurant and had a lovely meal. Afterwards, relaxed in my room where I took a dip in the Japanese hot tub. Felt great after a long drive. Bed was comfortable and had a good night's sleep. Would love to come back another time and take advantage of the hikes nearby.

Great place!!

The property is extremely overrated. The setting is very pretty. Rooms are less than basic. No place to really put luggage and nowhere in the bathroom to put any toiletries. Everything was clean but not very comfortable. Only a wooden desk chair to sit on. Property played music all day long. At times too loud to enjoy the peace and quiet that the setting would’ve allowed. A $25 per day facility fee For amenities was not necessary on top of the price. The facilities included a sauna, cornhole, archery, and a fire pit. I would never return. I will say, that the front desk and bar staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The restaurant staff were well trained, but oblivious. The waitress did not even know what beer she had served to another patron so we could order the same. The bus person kept taking away the bottles of water we asked him to leave on the table.

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights and had the best time. The rooms are beautiful and incredibly comfortable (especially the bed!). Every detail about the place is very thoughtful and gorgeous. Staying here is a romantic little getaway in and of itself and we liked that we could have dinner, drinks, and breakfast right there (the food was all excellent!). It's a 15-30 min drive at least to get to other nearby towns (go to the Phoenicia Diner!) but there is still plenty to do within that range and great hiking options nearby too. Everyone we interacted with at Urban Cowboy was very friendly and professional. We'd definitely come back! Book a room with a cedar tub if you can, but you can't go wrong. I had read other reviews before booking our stay here and it seems like nearly anything negative others had to say resulted from a failure to read the lodge's communications (everything is communicated ahead of time over email and in the little guidebook in the room).
