very spacious for all of our guests, the villa was clean upon arrival, all linens were provided and beds made, plenty of towels for us to use and the welcome pack was a nice gesture. Villa was within walking distance to local shops and beach etc. we also received updated prior to our arrival from Jose which were very useful/helpful, including restaurant recommendations and a taxi number with English speaking operators. The villa has wifi for everyone to use and also has a washing machine which came in handy when cleaning towels etc. There is plenty of storage space for everyone’s clothes and there is a handy safe to help store valuable to keep them safe. lovely patio area outside for al fresco dining. The villa is also only 10-15mins away from the likes of the airport, Rancho Texas, Go Karting etc. It’s also in a fairly quiet area so you don’t get disturbed from people returning from nights out etc.

We loved staying at the Villa but there were a few things that could have made it great. there is no aircon or ceiling mounted fans, so the villa gets very hot, which makes sleeping uncomfortable at night, there were a few smaller electric fans provided, which helped a little. Also the window shutters in all but 2 rooms don’t open, this means you can’t keep windows open during the day to help ventilate when you are out. Worth looking into this as it would help to keep the temperature down during the day. The flooring in the pool area is very slippery and is treacherous when wet especially with small kids around, the outdoor bbq was also very dirty from previous use and was unusable. 2 of the younger kids who used the pool ended up with what appeared to be chemical burns when using the pool which were very painful and resulted in a few lost days in the pool to give them time to heal. 2 of the internal doors also slam shut due to the positioning of the windows and the wind that flows through, during our stay one of the bedroom doors slammed on the tip of our 3 year olds finger causing a bruise, had he been a split second sooner then his whole hand could have been caught. I’d recommend some door stoppers to help prevent this from happening. The shower downstairs wasn’t working and the upstairs toilet with the whirlpool bath was unusable for almost the entire stay due to the smell, not sure was the cause was but can only imagine it was caused by the drain, couldn’t say for sure though. I appreciate there’s a lot there but it’s worth mentioning that we had a nice time staying at Sunny Golf Villas and if the things mentioned didn’t ruin our stay or mean we wouldn’t visit again but if the above could be fixed/resolved it would only have helped make it a better experience.

A good functioning villa

It wasn't clean when we got there. The beds were very uncomfortable. The worst of all was the non stop Barking, DAY AND NIGHT from 4 dogs next door.

smell of stale smoke, disgusting smell of sewage coming from the bathroom, broken fridge freezer our food we brought from home was wasted, a replacement was provided as soon as reported but the broken one was left, pool filter didn’t work so couldn’t use the pool for more than a week and pool was disgustingly filthy, inundated with cockroaches in the basement bedrooms, shower heads didn’t work properly fired in every direction except down although one was replaced, mouse in the kitchen, no welcome book, no plastic glasses for around the pool side, uncomfortable beds, uncomfortable indoor furniture, no mirrors in the bedrooms, dials on the washing machine worn of so no idea what program to use, no mid stay clean, towels were disgustingly smelly on arrival, inadequate supply of fans for the rooms, 1 was broken but did supply another upon request, back door had to fracture your hip to open and close, no pool cover, tiled pool motor cover dangerous had to put a sun lounger over it to stop trips, whole in the wall outside near pool with cables exposed, damp up the wall by the outdoor shower, window shutters didn’t work properly so most windows had to stay closed at all times, linen when asked for was extremely old and worn out, stairs down to basement bedrooms extremely steep and dangerous, no handrail, basement area large but no furniture only 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, think the cockroaches were coming in from the garage doors and from the bathroom (holes which were later filed but didn’t stop them)

Location

No filters in the pool had to be cleaned 3times while we were there which meant the pool was cold and we had to wait for the chemical to clear before we could use it. There were mouse droppings in the washing machine area and in the basement bedroom. A mouse ran across the living room one evening.

The location was brilliant for us. The area was quiet with stunning views. The property was so spacious.

Air-conditioning/ fans were missed during the night.

There was so much room. It was a nice walk down to the strip or old town and getting a taxi back was so easy and only 3.50 happy nights. The host was so helpful aswell thank you we had a great holiday.

The only thing was we could of done with another sofa but other than that it was perfect.

plenty of space in the villa and the owner was helpful - we had an issue on second day where the front gate would not lock and he was out and fixed it within the hour.

furniture in living room was a bit dated and uncomfortable. Not too big an issue for us as we were out most of the time but a family was going to stay in villa more it could be an issue. Also we booked villa with private pool which is not the interior shown on the site that is for complex next door with shared pool that looked more modern. Location is 5-10 minute walk from main strip and terrain is very hilly. would not suit anyone with mobility issues.

Keys were in the box outside the property. The property is ideal for many young couples looking for a cheap break to share the cost over many people. But not ideal for a small group. Pool was a nice size, Location was good only a short walk to the beach, town and supermarket.

The villa was a little tired especially in the bathrooms. The whole place has clearly been used as a rental for a very long time probably since it was built. It is all a little clinical and very unloved. Sort of thing you would find in a 2 star B&B. The pool was too cold to swim in Oct/Nov as no heating, paint coming off and mould present in many places. Bathrooms as mentioned were tired and need replacement with some modern facilities. Sofa in lounge was just odd. Old, dirty, covered with an ill fitting cover that wasn't nice. Worst thing of all is that the neighbours have many dogs penned up left alone barking and whining all day and night. If you want some peace and quiet forget it. Drove us nuts for the whole visit.
