The pros: great beach location. If you like walks on the beach, this place is great. The TV in the room was excellent and the beds were comfortable. Great staff. The cons: small room with very little surfaces to put your stuff. No bathrobes or slippers. Bathroom was very small. No grab handles in the bathtub, I almost slipped a few times when taking showers. Restaurant food was okay, nothing special. Poor signage in the corridors for the stairs.

We have been coming here for decades and watched as it deteriorated. The change they have gone through is incredible!! Rooms are gorgeous, staff is so friendly and service oriented, what a wonderful rebirth.

The staff was nice, but the room didn’t have a microwave, the refrigerator is only big enough to hold candy bars and not even a half gallon of milk, the drain plug in the bathtub didn’t work so I couldn’t give my daughter a bath like she wanted, the chrome cast option to stream content to the tv didn’t work. The ice machine is only on one side of the building which is a far walk if your on the other side like I was. A can of soda is $5. The door also doesn’t seal well so there’s an actual breeze through the door frame. The couch was so firm that it hurt to sit on it for too long. There’s also no ventilation in the bathroom. I used the bathroom on the 4th floor so I didn’t have to in my room. The hot tub was okay but if you go by the corner of it, there was a horrible smell that smelled like old thrown out seafood or something. There’s also no lighting in the pool and hot tub area after dark (at least while I was there). The pool has a light inside of it, but nothing else in the area. Will definitely not stay here again.

The hotel is newly remodeled so it was very clean and smelled faintly of new furniture and paint, in the best way, much preferable to some of the musty damp I’ve had closer to Pacific Grove or shoddy new construction in Marina. Convenient location near Hwy 1 and the beach. However many of the amenities are not finished (sauna and cold plunge tubs), available (yoga is seasonal) or WiFi buggy (e-bikes). Parking was expensive considering the relatively secluded area and more in line with the Marriott than the rest of the hotel’s “amenities”.
