I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, despite paying $746.50 per night for what was supposed to be a "Deluxe Room, 2 Queen Beds, Ocean View." Having stayed in everywhere from Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons to budget motels like Motel 6, I can honestly say this hotel was worse than a Motel 6. First, the room was far from luxurious. The bathroom door was broken, and despite notifying the front desk, they failed to fix it during our stay. The "Ocean View" room we paid for was a disappointment—the windows were so dirty that we couldn’t even see outside, let alone enjoy the ocean view we expected.Soap holder broken, bathtub Drain Stopper was broken overall dirty hotel . To add to the frustration, the hotel had ongoing construction, which was not mentioned prior to booking. The bar’s draft beer machine was also broken, and the bartender was not only rushing but also had a very unwelcoming attitude. It was clear that the service, much like the room, lacked quality. After reporting all these issues, the only compensation offered was a meager $22 discount on overnight parking—insulting given the overall experience. Save your money and avoid this place. It’s nowhere near the quality you'd expect for the price, and you’ll likely leave frustrated as we did.

Serves was bad pool was dirty it’s not worth it what I pay

We did not get the room that we booked for. They said that they can get us roll away beds but we never received it. A couple of us had to sleep on the floor. Housekeeping never came to clean or replenish toilet paper, tissues, or towels. The property had very little amenities and the food was terrible.

The beds were hard. There was no working lock on the bathroom door. We ate at the Coast restaurant and the salmon was so bad we got sick. The pizza and kids’ food were good. Their bar made amazing cocktails. The staff made good suggestions on where we should go. My poor rating for this hotel is because for the price we paid (equivalent to Shutters on the Beach), we were expecting a certain level of comfort (bed and sheets) and dining experience. We opted not to eat their breakfast buffet as dinner the night before was not great food quality.

The location is its best feature!

Overall, was a good stay. Main thing is it's location which is close to the ocean, to a surfing site. Can get gorgeous sunsets. Though does not have access to the beach but it's close enough if looking to get to the water. Rooms are pretty big and renovated, the beds very clean. A super small refrigerator was a bummer. A few other things could improve like they can provide a map to get to the rooms upon arrival. You get towels for the use at the pool at the reception which is also not convenient. The property and the pool could be cleaner.

Property is fine! We have stayed there several times and we always enjoy our stay! My only complaint is with the room rates which are not cheap which I can accept compared to other hotels but I think charging for parking with the abundant amount of space I think it’s a little greedy! Just one man’s opinion
