Amazing place...will be back for sure. Easy check-in. Friendly host, great rooms and lots to do as they have a pool table, books, puzzles, games and more!

I paid to reserve a queen bed and instead got 2 double beds.
There was also a bug in my room. This service is unlike what I normally receive at the Balsam.

It seems some parts were under construction (?), including the dining area (?) and the gym, which was not available (although this was not clear when booking). We were greeted by a large barking dog. The area of downtown is convenient but nothing special. Clean rooms were nice. The all-day breakfast is just bread/toast, muffins, and juice/coffee (Keurig). The bed wasn't great. It's definitely a fine place to stay in Timmins, but not a 9.8/10 — that rating seems sorely out of whack with reality.

It was a great room, and there was a place in the hotel to eat breakfast, prepare your own meals, and generally hang out outside your room. Great place! Would stay there again next time we're in Timmins.

Excellent for a downtown hotel. Very clean and unique suites with a B&B feel with a self serve all day continental fare. Wished we could have stayed there longer than one night.

Stylish, very clean, good supply of food for snacks and breakfast, thoughtful options for reading and games in common area, warm welcome. And plenty of space in a unit arranged like a one-bedroom condo. One of the most enjoyable places we’ve stayed in decades of travelling.

There is no reception area.The breakfast area was messy, with non standard arrangement for a hotplate and plastic utensils and poor selection of items to eat. Nothing made me feel exited to be there. Skip the smaller than standard pool table. Quailty is in the details.

The owners are so welcoming, the rooms are large and clean and filled with up to date amenities and lots of extras (24hr breakfast bar, laundry, netflix, etc.)

The staff went out of their way to make sure I was feed, comfortable and had everything I needed. The room was lovely, very clean, nice soaker bathtub. Am extremely satisfied and would definitely stay there again. I would very much recommend this hotel.
