Staff was promptly able to accommodate our late afternoon booking. Friendly welcome on arrival. Very nice courtyard / garden area shared with all cabins. We arrived during a storm or would have enjoyed the fire pit available to all guests. Clean and inviting cabin with 2 bedrooms. Morning breakfast included various pastries, fruit, oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches and drinks (coffee, tea, juice)

Our stay at the cottages on river road was amazing!! Any other small place we stay at is going to have to live up to this. The area was gorgeous, the staff was so nice, and the rooms were cute. I still crave the complementary breakfast. We ended up extending our stay cause we were having so much fun. Shout out to Deanne as she gave great recommendations!!

Our stay at the cottages on river road was amazing!! Any other small place we stay at is going to have to live up to this. The area was gorgeous, the staff was so nice, and the rooms were cute. The falling leaves, lit up garden and walkways made this property beautiful!
Our cabin was comfortable and clean. Like really clean! There was not a single hair in the shower (something that personally grosses me out); and we accidentally dropped something that rolled behind a piece of furniture. Moved the piece to grab the item, there was no dust on the floor behind it!
The bed was more firm than we like, but that is totally a personal preference. But overall the cabin was comfortable and cozy.
As with most places, breakfast was meger, but at least enough to get you started in the morning before eating later at the coast, and it was layed out and presented nicely.
We will definitely stay again!

I spent two relaxing nights midweek in August, enjoying the setting, pool, staff and guests. My dog cost extra but that’s understandable and he was welcomed by all but the resident cat, who rightly held her own.
I would definitely visit again.

Cottages on River Road is incredible! After an 8 hour drive, I walked into an incredibly nice room which was also extremely clean. The tub was perfect for a long soak. The set up of the cottages around a central courtyard, and the lush plants and flowers, was very nice. I wish I could have stayed longer, and can only hope to pass through the area again!

Love the vibe here; darling standalone cottages situated under towering redwoods. The evening firepit and complimentary s’mores is precious. Especially loved the complimentary breakfast. They held our luggage all day after we checked out so we could use the river. We will return.

Our stay was just what we needed on our little getaway from the Sacramento heat. Our cottage/room was clean, bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. The pool was very enjoyable after a long day of exploring the area. Will stay here again!
