We stayed 3nights at the Parador de Ferrol to rest after a long flight from Australia before starting to walk the Camino Ingles. It was a good decision as Ferrol is an interesting town. The Parador de Ferrol is certainly a beautiful hotel, reasonably priced, very comfortable and just a short 7minute walk to the starting point of the Camino. We loved the view from our bedroom window. Although near docklands, the perfectly restored warehouses, customs and naval buildings along the river lent a certain majesty, more so at night with the twinkling lights. Very close to great cafes, bars and restaurants. Shame about the frosty nature of the staff at check in and throughout our stay. Maybe they just didn't enjoy working there or had all forgotten how to smile.

The Parador itself is absolutely beautiful and in a very convenient location. Our room was gorgeous. The downside was the rudeness of some of the staff, most especially a young lady that works in the bar at night. My husband went to order drinks but he doesn’t speak any Spanish, she treated him in a disdainful manner and he was left feeling pretty angry. On the second night I went to the bar to order drinks (I am pretty fluent in Spanish), again she was surly. It’s such a shame when someone obviously does not enjoy her job and takes it out on the patrons.

The Parador is very well situated in the city of Ferrol. The staff was very nice and very helpful. Had never stayed there but will do so in the future and will recommend it!

Hotel is situated nicely near city center. Property is immaculate. The rooms are exceptionally clean and spotless in every respect. Well maintained with character of a different age. Staff was efficient and professional. Not particularly friendly but never rude. Breakfast was not a great value but convenient. No AC so open windows were needed which meant a bit of street noise late at night. Overall a charming property and a very nice experience.

Great Hotel, only downside is the standard of the coffee, do not drink out of the pot at breakfast, it is instant, ask for an espresso.

Decided to treat myself before starting my Camino. A really beautiful hotel full of charm. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices.
