Great place to stay and close to UChicago. The staff were extremely friendly, the place was very clean, and our room was awesome. We ate at the restaurant for brunch and had a good meal both times. Quick Uber to/from Midway.

Amazing trip!

I recently stayed at the Sophy Hotel and had a wonderful experience overall. The boutique atmosphere was charming and the hotel was impeccably clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable. While the parking was a bit farther than expected, it wasn’t a significant issue for me. I did encounter a hiccup during check-in when I was charged an additional $800 despite at the hotel event though my booking through Expedia. This was a simple mistake by the hotel. Thankfully, the hotel staff apologized for the mistake and promptly processed my refund even though it took a week to receive. Going forward I’d make sure I communicate that my booking was previously paid for. Despite this minor setback, my time at the Sophy Hotel was very pleasant, and its convenient location near downtown made exploring the area easy. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay!

Return to the same property after my first visit. It is a very decent hotel although abit costly due to the DNC in Chicago. Will stay again!

Such a beautiful hotel! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The only downside was the restaurant downstairs which didn’t make any sense. They would be empty and still make you wait for long to get seated and that was a bit frustrating but other than that the hotel was amazing! They even have bicycles to use for free

The hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. Our check-in was fine, however, parking was a block and a half way (in a less than desirable area at night) and no valet service. I never use valet, however, with most hotels not having on site parking, I would have used valet for this one night stay. I paid for parking and received a QR code confirmation. I used that to enter the garage with no issues. When I went to check out in the morning, I stopped at the front desk because I couldn’t locate the QR code on my phone anymore. I had no email confirmation or text message confirmation. So I asked the front desk how I could exit the garage and she told me she couldn’t help because the garage is not part of the hotel. I’d have to take it up with them. She told me to see if they had a gate attendant to help Or I may have to pay again. I asked her if they would reimburse me and she said no because they have nothing to do with the garage. Luckily, I was able to get a Supervisor at the garage to help me (at 6 AM!), but she was not happy with me or the hotel! I stayed at another hotel in downtown Chicago where their parking garage was also not on site. They told me if I had any trouble with the barcode they gave me at the garage, to hit the help button for assistance, or make the payment and bring them the receipt so they can reimburse me. Why the Sophy hotel doesn’t have similar relationship, I don’t know. I was lucky I found someone to help me!!
