Clean room. Good aircon / heater. Friendly / helpful management. Property appeared to be old and in need of refurbishment.

Quite dated, so needs a refresh. Close to most things, outlook at the back onto the paddock with sheep was lovely, just needs a bit of tlc.

Great location near the heart of Halls Gap. Within 5-8min walk to most restaurants and shops. Kangaroos everywhere at dusk and dawn. Lots of bird life too. Could hear kookaburras at dawn. Our room was comfortable enough but doesn't seem very clean. The towels were on the thin side. Service wise, we requested for room make up service but the staff claimed we did not. We also had another guest trying to open our door. They told us the staff informed them this was there toom.

Place has BBQ, area around BBQ needed to be cleaned up. Bed was clean and needs an upgrade soon. Individual patio outside room. Surroundings great, in heart of town. Room sleeps 3.

Comfortable rooms and bed, quiet (at least when not fully booked), conveniently located within short walking distance to town centre, Small patio out back facing a meadow teeming with kangaroos, cockatoos and magpies.

We were slightly apprehensive given reviews of “aging and worn” rooms so we were pleasantly surprised by our room. It was large, well lit, and provided with all the facilities we needed. Huge bathroom with abundance of towels. Lots of electrical outlets for gadget charging which was atypical of other motels we stayed at during our trip. Small patio overlooking a large pasture with resident sheep. Guest laundry on site with reasonable charge. Hoards of cockatoos to entertain and overwhelm you should you ill-advisedly produce any edibles. Location on the edge of town was quiet and restful but easily walkable to shops and restaurants. This was one of our favorite stopovers on a two week trip and also one of the more economical motels we used.

Whole area needed sweeping and tidying up, Needed to ne properly cleaned. Biut also in bad need of renovation. Very disappointing especially with so many other motels around it. Not value for money. Would not recommend.

The motel was great. Very friendly staff, location was perfect. 2 minutes walk to town. Older motel. But has lots going for it.

Amazing views from the room with a small patio to watch the Kangaroos from. Wildlife comes right up to the motel. very comfortable and clean. great value. amazing, inexpensive laundry service and everything in Halls Gap is walkable

Enjoyed my stay here. I was a bit early before checkinn, but the owner made sure my room was cleaned earlier. Nice and quiet location for a nice way of seeing Hall Gap.

We were at Kookaburra Motel from 18 - 20 January not as stated above. Fabulous mountain views from room. Wildlife abounds, Kangaroos bounding everywhere, kookaburras, magpies, cockatoos. Simply lovely. Shower water too cold on first morning and even though issue was reported and 'fixed' the following morning was similar with very luke warm water. A bit more effort on bathroom cleanliness would have been good and quite noisy on Friday night up until about midnight. Overall a reasonable stay for a 2 day break at Halls Gap at a good price.
