Teignmouth and Shaldon are within a short drive and here you'll discover bustling promenades, a lido and more sandy stretches, while the Exeplorer Water Taxi service which operates from Dawlish Warren, can ferry you across to Exmouth which is the perfect place for sailing, windsurfing and paddle boarding.

With its unspoilt and rugged landscape, tors, forest and reservoirs to explore, Dartmoor which is a 20-minute drive from The Shippon, offers lovers of the outdoors a wonderful day out. Closer to home at only 10 minutes' drive away, Haldon Forest offers visitors of all ages the chance for adventure with its 12km of wooded cycle paths which are ideal for mountain biking or walks.
